Liam Gallagher Heads Out In Hampstead

Liam Gallagher has moved quickly to get over the trauma of his stolen hat.

The Beady Eye frontman, snapped while out with his missus Nicole in Hampstead, north London, yesterday, has been testing out potential replacements all week.

Monobrows were raised when it was revealed his black hat, nicked at T In The Park a couple of weeks back, was a cheapy buy from H&M.

Considering how eager fans are to swipe hats from his head, maybe the cheaper option isn't a bad idea.

Noel Gallagher Calls Brother Liam A Born Liar

Noel Gallagher has branded his brother Liam a "born liar" in an explosive new interview.

The warring brothers reignited their war-of-words earlier this month (Jul11) when Noel accused Liam of sparking the break up of Oasis by demanding to advertise his Pretty Green fashion line in the band's tour programmes.

The Beady Eye frontman hit back, insisting he never discussed his clothing venture with his brother, and Noel has now taken another swipe at his sibling, accusing Liam of filling his new band's album with leftover Oasis songs.

Responding to his brother's claims he deliberately held back two of their former band's tracks for his own upcoming solo album, Noel tells NME magazine, "Well, Liam talks a lot, doesn't he?... Unfortunately for Liam, he's a born liar. Those songs have been recorded on two separate occasions, for two different albums, and vocals were never completed.

"I've re-recorded them in a different key, to suit my voice. They're the two most Oasis sounding songs on the album. But whatever he says is bulls**t."

Asked about songs on Beady Eye's debut album Different Gear, Still Speeding, he says, "I remember playing drums on a version of The Roller. I've always liked that song. So there's a version of that with me on it somewhere in the vaults. The Morning Son has been around for the best part of five years.

"I'd heard a few of those tunes before... I'd say whatever songs are on there, I'd say half I recognise the titles of... Millionaire was gonna be on the last record... The Roller, yeah, I always thought was gonna be a f**king mega, mega hit for Oasis but it never got past the demo stage."

Noel Gallagher Surprised By Beady Eye Sales

Noel Gallagher was "shocked" by the chart performance of Beady Eye's singles.

The 44-year-old musician insists he took no pleasure from the fact the group - made up of his former bandmates, brother Liam Gallagher, Gem Archer, Chris Sharrock and Andy Bell - have seen their tracks 'Millionaire' and 'The Roller' only reach numbers 71 and 31 in the UK singles chart respectively and says it was a "wake-up call" for his own fledgling solo career.

He said: "Do you know what? To be quite honest, it was a bit of a wake-up call. 'Cos I was like, right, well fing hell, maybe that's what's out there for me, do you know what I mean?

"So when 'The Roller' went in at 30 or whatever I mean, a lot of people were like, 'Fing hell, I bet you're happy with that.' And I was like, 'Not really', I was quite shocked, I thought it would do what Oasis singles do.

"So obviously, someone who puts my record out has got some fing work to do. I was a bit like, 'Wow.' "

Beady Eye released their first track, 'Bring the Light' as a free download but Noel insists he won't be doing the same when launching his solo career because he "values" his music too much.

He added in an interview with NME magazine: "No free downloads. I value my music. I don't sit in a studio, and fing make it up as I go along and go, 'This one's free then.'

"I think if you buy it, you as a listener value it more. I'm just not into free downloads and that's the end of it.

"I never considered it in Oasis and I'd never consider it now."

Noel Gallagher: New Single Is Not About My Brother

Noel Gallagher releases the trailer for his new single The Death Of You And Me but insists it is not about his brother Liam.

Noel Gallagher today released the trailer for his new single The Death Of You and Me - a song he has made clear is not about his acrimonious split with his brother Liam.

The debut single for his new band High Flying Birds will be released on 21 August, with the album coming out in October. It will feature 10 new songs he has written. Of his new single, Gallagher said: "The saying is that if you don't leave a place it will be the death of you. The song is about people escaping the surroundings they are in, it's not about me and Liam."

The tedious feud between the brothers came to a head in August 2009 when Noel Gallagher left Oasis two dates before the end of a world tour. Liam had thrown a plum at his brother and then threatened him with a guitar. Liam Gallagher is still embroiled in the feud. Last week he tweeted that his brother was a s---bag and, at a concert in London, talked about his brother while making a hand gesture to imply that his brother had 'height issues' about being the smaller sibling (Liam is 5'10" and Noel 5'7").

Noel Gallagher's new album was co-produced by Noel and David Sardy and recorded in London and Los Angeles. The trailer released today is 47 seconds long. Both Gallagher and its director Mike Bruce describe it as "amazing".

Liam's verdict is not yet in.

NME Confirm Even They Don't Read Their Own Magazine

NME.COM has reported that Noel Gallagher's debut solo single has apparently been confirmed as 'The Death Of You And Me'

And that fansites have been posting artwork for the track, which will apparently feature 'The Good Rebel' as its b side.

The information was taken from this week's issue of NME (ON SALE NOW) and that's from where the fansites got the artwork.

Great to know that the fantastic writers of NME read their own magazine :)

Noel Gallagher Does Not Ever See Himself Playing Stadiums

Noel Gallagher does not think he will play at the same size venues as a solo artist, as he did with Oasis.

Speaking to the NME the former Oasis man said "I don't see me ever being able to stand on stage in a stadium, like a jobbing f**king minstrel with an acoustic guitar, and pull it off in a hour and a half. I just don't I've got that in me. Band's have got more power than f**king jobbing songwriters. Who was the last solo artist to play Wembley Stadium? George Michael.

He added "I don't ever see me playing stadiums. I don't think the demand will be there. I could probably do an arena in Manchester. Probably. But I don't know. I'm just going to see how it goes. it's a nice position to be in, and I've not been in this position since 'Definitely Maybe', where it's just like, 'Well put this album out, don't know what's going to happen.' Whereas in Oasis, you know what's going to happen. And that's great, but anything is possible and I'm not setting any limits on it. But I can safely say. it won't be anyway approaching being as big as Oasis were.never".

Noel Gallagher is set to release his debut album 'Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds' on through his own Sour Mash record label, on October 17th (this date will vary slightly internationally).

The album features ten new songs and was recorded over the past year in London and Los Angeles. It was co-produced by Noel and David Sardy, who Noel has worked with previously.

Noel Gallagher: People Stopped Listening To Oasis

Noel Gallagher has told the NME that he thinks people stopped listening to Oasis.

He told the NME "people kept coming to the gigs, but stopped listening. It's like if I was sat here today, doing a press conference for a new Oasis album... well I wouldn't be doing a press conference, would I. it'd be like, 'Oh Oasis have a new album out, so what,' That's just the way it is when you go on for so long. Does anyone care for a new Rolling Stones album? They go and see 'em, don't they."

No Free Downloads From Noel Gallagher

Noel Gallagher has told the NME that he will not give away his music for free as he values his music. He said that "I don't sit in the studio and f**king make it up as I go along, and go, 'this one's free, then.' I think if you just buy it, you as a listener value it more. I'm just not into free downloads, and that's an end of it."

He went on to explain "some of my favourite bands do it, like Kasabian for example, but it's not something I would even consider. I never considered it in Oasis, and I'd never consider it now."
