'We are the biggest band in Britain of all time, ever. The funny thing is, all that fucking mouthing off three years ago about how we were going to be the biggest band in the world - we actually went and did it.' Noel Gallagher

Oasis are one of the biggest bands the word has ever seen. Here, in Supersonic, they tell the story of the their beginnings from dive-bar hopefuls to global superstars. They themselves talk us through the pivotal moments in their phenomenal trajectory, from the day Noel Gallagher joined his brother Liam's band, through their first crucial five years culminating at their landmark gigs at Knebworth Park in 1996 - the pinnacle of their success.

With over thirty hours of interviews with Liam, Noel and those closest to them, this book documents in unprecedented depth and with their trademark candour and humour, the story behind one of the world's greatest bands, all told in their own words and fully illustrated with exclusive photographs and ephemera throughout.

Book Description
The first-ever authorised book from Oasis, one of the biggest bands on the planet.

Noel Gallagher On Getting A Beer Belly, His Eyesight And More

Noel Gallagher has made another appearance on The Matt Morgan Podcast, you can listen to the podcast here (subscription required).

Below are a couple of quotes I have found.

On getting a beer belly during lockdown.

“I’m getting a bit fat, actually. It’s all the boozing. I’m getting a little beer belly. Like everyone, I’ve been drinking every night at home for a year, which is something I never usually do.I usually drink every night on the road and then when I get home I abstain for a while and get back in shape. Or you have a night out twice a week, so you don’t drink at home. I’m drinking every f***ing week. I’m f***ing loving it but I’ve started to wear baggy clothes, let’s put it that way. I looked at it and thought, ‘That’s a disgrace. I do go to the gym regularly, so it can’t be that bad.”

On his eyesight

“My eyes are really f***ing bad now. My eyesight is receding, or whatever the visual term might be. It’s not as sharp as it was. I can’t read anything. I think they’ve got to be on a certain level of badness to have laser eye surgery and I’m just on the cusp of it now.”

On police fears regarding a party-mad summer.

“If someone’s preparing for a summer full of drug-fuelled mayhem, you know things are on the up. I’m going to get stuck into s***loads of it. Police are saying, ‘We know everyone’s going to be out in the summer, and we’re prepared for everyone to be absolutely [censored] all summer, and just causing trouble’. This is brilliant. It’ll be like the Roaring Twenties when it got going – people went mad!”
