Liam Gallagher Says Noel Turned Down £100 million For An Oasis Reunion Tour
Liam Gallagher has told The Johnathan Ross Show that his brother Noel turned down £100 million for an Oasis reunion tour.
He said: "When someone offers you 100 million pounds to do a few gigs and that man, you're going to go, 'Alright then yeah…' there was a lot of money knocking about.
"It was 100 million pounds to do a tour and that and I'm thinking, 'I'm not a d***head, know what I mean? I'll have a bit of that.'
"He’s not into it is he? He's after a knighthood isn't he?"
He also said that Noel has to "take on some" responsibility for the rift between them if they can hope to move on.
He added: "I think we're both the problem and the problem is that he thinks he's not the problem.
"He thinks I’m both the problems. Whereas I’m just a problem. I’m half the problem, whereas I can’t be having him thinking I’m the full problem.
"He needs to take on some of the problem. The minute he does that we'll move on... He needs to own his problem.
"No, [I haven't spoken to him]. I don't think it's going to happen."
The Johnathan Ross Show is broadcast tomorrow on ITV at 21:35 (UK Only).
Win A Signed Gibson Guitar By Liam Gallagher
Liam Gallagher is raising money for stage crew charity Stagehand’s #ILoveLive campaign, which is providing financial help for all UK stage crew who are in the greatest need. Stage crew seem to be the forgotten ones in the current pandemic. They’re the unsung heroes of the live entertainment world. Without them shows just couldn’t happen.
The impact of Covid-19 has been devastating for the whole music industry but particularly for the stage techs, sound engineers, guitar techs, keyboard techs, drum techs, stage managers, production managers, tour managers and other live support personnel who make shows possible.
With no shows since March, crew’s income has been slashed with many finding that they are ineligible for any kind of government financial aid. Many are in desperate need and most are sitting with mental health issues.
