Tales From The Middle Of Nowhere

Taken from Noel's tour diary for oasisinet.com

Phew! What a couple of days. Sunshine! At last. Been sat on the balcony in my room doing fuck all. Listening to tunes. Drinking tea. Smoking. If that's not heaven, then I don't know what is.

Done a press conference yesterday. Loved it. Good fun.

"Will you be singing 'Champagne Supernova' at the Coke-Fest?" Sez a journalist.

"'Champagne Supernova'? Coke-Fest? Reminds me of a party I once had!" Sez I.

"Boom-boom", went the crowd (to themselves).

Did I mention the reason we're here is 'coz we're doing a festival? Two, in fact. One here and one in Cape Town, day after tomorrow.

Anyway, gotta go.

In a bit.

Badboy Brand Is Back On Air... Talking Balls

Mouthy Russell Brand is to be unleashed on the country’s airwaves again.

The shamed DJ, who left Radio 2 last year after sparking the Manuelgate scandal, will front a football show for TalkSport.

Brand, 33, and pal Noel Gallagher, 41, have been invited to host a footie debate special for the station.

The Oasis star was a frequent guest on the comedian’s old radio show.

Brand, who writes a sports column for a newspaper, teased: “Myself and Britain’s favourite swearer are doing a radio special on football. Let’s hope Noel doesn’t get me in trouble.

“We will turn TalkSport into the fulcrum of the revolution. If we can just get Wossy to come.”

The debate will mark Brand’s first radio job since he resigned in October after making obscene phone calls to Fawlty Towers actor Andrew Sachs.

He and pal Jonathan Ross, 48, left a message on the 78-year-old’s answerphone telling how Brand had slept with Sachs’s granddaughter. Ross received a three-month suspension and last week the BBC was fined £150,000 by watchdog Ofcom for broadcasting the “gratuitously offensive” call.

Meanwhile, Brand has topped a new poll as the man blokes hate the most – and Ross was the runner-up.

In a survey by Onepoll.com, men voted for Brand for being “unfunny” and wearing make-up.

The bungling pair were closely followed by footie stars Cristiano Ronaldo, 24, and Ashley Cole, 28, and 46-year-old actor Tom Cruise.

Listen out for Russell on the radio once more when he hosts a one-off show on Talksport on April 17 with Noel Gallagher.

On This Day In Oasis History

"Supersonic" is the debut single released by British rock band Oasis, written by Noel Gallagher. It also appears on their debut album, Definitely Maybe. It was released on the 11 April 1994 and peaked at #31 on the official UK charts. It was the song performed by the band on their debut national TV performance on Channel 4's The Word, which aired on 18 March 1994. It remains to this day a favourite song of both the band and their fans (on the Definitely Maybe DVD, Noel cites it as his favourite Oasis song). The single went silver in the UK on June 30, 2006, 12 years and 3 months after its original release.

In spite of its popularity, Gallagher claims the song is basically a collection of nonsense lyrics written in a matter of minutes, just before the band entered the recording studios to record the track. The identity of the character "Elsa" caused some confusion — according to the song She done it with a doctor/On a helicopter/she sniffin' in a tissue/Sellin' the Big Issue. Noel claims, "Someone told me "Supersonic" was about teenage prostitution. Shit!". It has since been revealed that Elsa was a nine-stone rottweiler with a flatulence problem who was in the studio on the day the song was written, hence the line "she's into Alka Seltzer". It was written and recorded at The Pink Museum in Liverpool. The plan was for Oasis to record "Bring It On Down" for their debut single and another bunch of demos. However, "Supersonic" was written and it impressed everyone so much, it was chosen to be the band's first single. Gallagher has revealed in interviews that "Supersonic"'s distinctive lead guitar part wasn't a deliberate copy of the intro to George Harrison's 1971 single "My Sweet Lord". The band recorded two videos for the song, for UK and US release. The UK version of the video features the band playing on a roof, similar to The Beatles' rooftop concert.

It is included on the official music album for Euro 2004, Vive O 2004!

Taken from Noel's tour diary for oasisinet.com

So that's that for South-East Asia. Glad it's over, to be honest. As much as I love the food, the people, etc.. there's only so many times one can eat noodles.

That last gig in Hong Kong was rubbish. A good night, but a shit gig.

Managed at last to finally see a bit of Hong Kong itself yesterday. It's got the same kind of atmosphere as NYC. Busy. Cosmopolitan. Multi-culti. Whatever. I liked it a lot. Horrendous traffic though.

Just landed in Johannesburg after a 14 hour flight. I saw a copy of The News Of The World on the stands in Hong Kong airport. Has someone died since we've been away? The headline said "Goodbye Princess" against a picture from a funeral cortege. Please don't tell me Tina from Coronation St. is dead?! I couldn't cope.

Managed to sleep most of the way!! Unbelievable. Woke to see the sunrise over Africa. Just amazing.

This is my first time on the dark continent. Actually, I tell a lie.. it's my third!! Went to Egypt once to see the great pyramids. Fuckin' colossal. And to Marrakech. Where I ended up at a party in a castle, blind drunk with Richard Branson's dad!! That's actually true. He was that pissed he asked me how many wives I had!

"One", I replied. "And she's not gonna be around much longer".

Think he thought I was one of the natives. Top geezer though.

Currently on the way into downtown Johannesburg. In a car with 3 security guards! THREE!! And two of those are armed to the teeth. Shit, man!! Must be a heavy place, eh?

In a bit.

'This Is Russell Brand Live On BBC Radio 2...Not!

RUSSELL BRAND - The Best Of What's Legal (Box Set)
****

BRAND Russell Brand, if you know what I mean, is a big deal.

Like Coca Cola, iPod and your very own copy of today’s Sun, he sells. He is a brand with a small “b”.

A bit like Jade, he divides opinion in a love ’em/hate ’em Marmite kind of way.

So the people at Universal through their Vertigo label have had the foresight (or maybe they just saw Pound signs in Russell’s piercing dark eyes) to release a lavish four-disc box-set of highlights/lowlights from his notorious BBC Radio 2 show.

You know, the one that got taken off air because of a grubby little (or hilariously funny depending on which way you look at it) episode with Jonathan Ross in which they embarrassed a national institution, Manuel from Fawlty Towers (aka Andrew Sachs).

Today, the whole affair is like water off a duck’s back to our Russ as he gleefully announces his introduction to “The Best Of What’s Legal”.

“You’re listening to Russell Brand live on BBC Radio 2.

“No, you’re not listening to Russell Brand on BBC Radio 2 and you know perfectly well why you’re not... (dramatic pause) . . . because there was an awful lot of trouble.”

Praising his listeners for buying the box, he continues: “Over the next few hours, we’re going to take you on a journey, a very painful, very sentimental, very childish and, let’s face it, doomed journey that ends in one of the greatest media scandals ever to befall this dirty little circle we call world.”

Divided into The Beginning, The Middle, The End and a DVD of “viddycasts”, it’s a rollercoaster ride, just the right side of anarchic, with Russell joined by radio cohort Matt Morgan and guests including his mate Noel Gallagher, Alan Carr, Noel Fielding and Simon Amstell.

And OK, I’ll come out of the closet. The whole thing is great, smutty and funny.

Russell spins his yarns in that quasi-Dickensian way and you realise what a national, original treasure he’s becoming — and what a shame the show is off air.

That’s my bit of a***-licking out of the way so it’s over to Russell to return the favour.

Specially for SFTW, here are the ten best bits from the Russell Brand Radio Show — as voted for by Russell Brand.

On MTV America’s view of Oasis

I bumped into a music executive and he said: “Oh man, those guys are great. When Liam and Noel came in Liam refused to sing and spat at us – one of them punched my wife in the booby.”

On threesomes

When me and Matt had a threesome it was like two men trying to ignore each other in a tiny park.

“Hello there sir. Good work there, I admire your stroke. It’s half time, shall we swap ends?”

On co-host Matt claiming to have a girlfriend

He ain’t got a girlfriend. He got confused in a strip club, paid too much and is now trying to get his money’s worth. It’s the longest lap dance in history.

Requesting of Noel Gallagher that he be allowed to use Oasis song Rock ’n’ Roll Star to enter as host of the MTV VMA Awards

Russell: Can I walk on to Rock ’n’ Roll Star by your band Oasis?

Noel: Yes, of course. Which means there’ll be a bloke on stage they don’t recognise coming out to a tune they’ve never heard.

Jonathan Ross and Russell discussing his relationship with Bedtime Stories co-star Teresa Palmer

Russell: Do not belittle my romance.

Jonathan: I’m not belittling your romance. And it’s so nice to hear you referring to something as a romance. And that there’s still some level of poetry inside you – and also self-deception.

On The Daily Mail’s scare tactics

The Daily Mail want us to be scared of everything – even the weather. Remember when it snowed? SNOW, there is SNOW! Immigrant snow! Immigrant, gypsy snow! Immigrant, gypsy, paedophile snow! Don’t make a snowman, it will come into your house and f**k you.

On discussing the gay “cruising” practice of wearing coloured bandanas to indicate different sexual preferences to potential partners in Los Angeles, with Guns and Roses guitarist Slash

Slash: Yeah man, if you wear red it means you give, if you wear blue it means you take.

Russell: Bloody hell, in Los Angeles? Home of the Crips and Bloods? That could lead to confusion. “Sir! I happen to be a member of the Crips, so you can take your thumb out of my bottom.”

Discussing Lorraine Kelly's 25-year marriage and how she keeps it fresh.

Lorraine: He puts up with a lot, my poor husband. We’ve been together since 1985

Russell: Bloody hell, how do you keep it going?

Lorraine: With romance. We act like we’re still courting. We go on dates

Russell: Wow. Do you want to go on one with me?

On Sweep from The Sooty Show

I remember his head, he looked like he smelt nice. Why did he not just speak up and have courage of his convictions? I think he could speak normally but 50 per cent of what he said was dreadfully racist so it had to go through the filter of an adult.

On relationship protocols

I will only fart in front of a woman once I’ve made her orgasm. Not immediately after, that would be disgusting. But I think if you take the good you should be prepared for the bad.

Liam Gallagher 'It's Oasis Till The Day I Die'

Despite a strained relationship with brother Noel, Liam Gallagher says he will never go solo

When it comes to the Gallaghers of Brit rock band Oasis, it could very well be that dysfunctional family dynamics work best for them.

But according to lead vocalist Liam Gallagher, he just 'doesn't know any better way to rock it out' than with his older brother Noel.

'I'm sure it definitely beats being in the same band as your sister,' he added in his trademark swaggering, nonchalant fashion.

The 36-year-old was speaking to the local media in a round-table interview last Sunday, before the band took to the stage for its concert at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

It was the band's second full-house gig here - the guys played at the same venue in 2006.

One of Britain's most successful rock acts with more than 50 million albums sold worldwide since their inception in 1991, Liam's publicly strained relationship with his guitarist brother Noel, 41, has always been the focus of much attention.

Last month, in an interview with Leeds-based music webzine Contact Music, Liam said: 'He (Noel) does his thing, and I do my thing.

'The only time we sort of bump into each other, and that's rarely, is on stage.'

He went on to elaborate: 'There're things he doesn't like about me and there're things I don't like about him. He can't change me, I wouldn't wanna change him.'

In September last year, following the release of the band's latest album Dig Out Your Soul, Liam didn't hold back either, when he outrightly criticised his brother's singing.

'I don't like Noel's voice' he reportedly blabbed to the English papers.

Disputes aside, it is essentially the music and the brothers' commitment to Oasis that have kept them going over the past 18 years, delivering rousing, melodic sing-a-long rock song after song for their passionate fans.

Besides Liam and Noel, Oasis also comprises bassist Andy Bell, 38; rhythm guitarist Gem Archer, 42; and drummer Chris Sharrock, 44.

When he was asked if the thought of going solo has ever crossed his mind, it was an affirmative 'no' from Liam with barely a hint of hesitation.

'It's Oasis till the day I die,' he said.

Liam said sometimes during the band's concerts, audience members would start chanting and stoking the brothers to fight onstage.

But he said he's generally not bothered by the taunts at all. 'We're too busy concentrating on our music,' he said with yet another shrug.

Nonchalance and candidness is in Liam's blood, evident not only on the topic of his brother.

Autographs

He scoffs at signing autographs, saying 'they freak him out'.

'I mean, what can you do with that piece of paper I've signed? It's just a piece of paper,' he said with a look of genuine incredulity on his face.

That same laidback attitude even translates to Pretty Green, the new clothing range he founded and designed for men. It is named after a song by UK punk band The Jam.

When asked about it, Liam said it was just something he did 'to keep his mind occupied', so that during the days when he's not making music, he 'won't be sitting around doing nothing'.

'Music and clothes are both important to me; no use being a great musician if you look like an idiot,' he said.

'But it's the same with my music, buy (my clothes) if you like it. If you don't fancy it, then don't. I'm not forcing it upon you.'

Thriller Named Greatest Album Ever

Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' has been named the Greatest Album Ever.

The pop superstar's landmark 1982 LP - which is the world's best-selling album - dominated a poll of MTV viewers, securing almost a third of the total vote.

Speaking about 'Thriller' - which was produced by Quincy Jones and features some of Jackson's best known hits, including 'Billie Jean', 'Beat It' and 'The Girl Is Mine' - MTV Base presenter Trevor Nelson said: 'I don't think there'll ever be another album like it in the history of music.

'There will never be a marriage of producer and artist, or songwriting and pop sensibility like that again. Due to the way people buy records now, there'll never be an album that sells as many copies.'

The list was compiled by music industry experts, artists, and bosses from the network's three UK channels - MTV2, VH1 and MTV Base.

More than 40,000 votes were cast by fans asked to choose their favourite album since 1981 from a shortlist of 26 LPs.

In a shock result, British R'n'B artist Craig David's debut effort 'Born To Do It' finished second with 12 per cent of the vote, beating Guns N' Roses' 1987 album 'Appetite For Destruction' into third place.

Craig, who received more votes than some of the world's biggest rap and R'n'B stars including Jay-Z and Kanye West, was overwhelmed by the result.

The '7 Days' singer said: 'I am very grateful to the viewers of MTV who have voted 'Born To Do It' as the second best album of all time - not only am I incredibly proud, it is an amazing achievement especially when I look at all the other albums in the top 100!'

British alternative rock band Radiohead secured fourth place with 'OK Computer', while the late Kurt Cobain's band Nirvana rounded off the top five with 'Nevermind'.

Oasis had two albums in the top ten - '(What's The Story) Morning Glory?' came sixth, while their 1994 debut 'Definitely Maybe' was seventh.

Following Noel and Liam Gallagher's records are U2's 'The Joshua Tree', the Arctic Monkeys' debut 'Whatever People say I Am, That's What I'm Not' and Amy Winehouse's 'Back to Black'.

MTV's 'Greatest Album Ever: The Results' will be broadcast on MTV1, MTV2, MTV Base and VH1 on April 11 at 9pm.

Taken from Noel's tour diary for oasisinet.com

Arrived in Hong Kong last night. Amazing place. You get access to the UK media here. It's really bad, man. In one sitting watching Sky News the doom and gloom is outrageous. Recession, recession, stabbings, corruption, murder, desolation, despair. What's happening? They actually have a debt counter on screen constantly monitoring "The Debt". Who's debt? Yours? Mine? You know it's bad when the fifth horseman of the apocalypse - Kay Burley - is interviewing pensioners on the deserted streets of Britain. Not all bad news though. Production of war materials is up. And paradoxically sales of chocolate are up!!! WAR AND CHOCOLATE?! It would seem our government have an iron fist and our people have a sweet tooth. I don't know what that means but it must mean something?

Have you seen the new Q Magazine? I assume it's the new one. The one with the "WORLD EXCLUSIVE" Green Day piece? Under the picture of the Green Day is a quote that says, "We are fire, chaos and revolution". Really? Which one's which then? I thought at least one of 'em was called Billy-Bob?!

In a bit.

Gnarls Barkley star Cee-Lo is hoping the duo will be able to inject more rock into their music - by teaming up with British band Oasis.

The Crazy hitmakers are more famous for their funk/dance sound, but the vocalist is convinced a collaboration with the Wonderwall group would be major hit.

He says, "I've been checking out the new Oasis album and it's hot. When I was in London I got to hang out with Noel (Gallagher) and we had a big laugh. I'd like to do something iconic with them."

Gem Archer & Andy Bell Interview Coming Soon

Friend of the site Kenny had the opportunity to interview Gem and Andy on a wide range of subjects.

The interview was filmed we will be having a full transcript of it in a few days.

Meanwhile here is a little bit from the interview.

They are really looking forward to be doing the massive summer gigs, and there will be no new EP's or a 4th from Dig Out Your Soul. "But you never know", said Andy.

Unreleased song 'I Wanna Live In A Dream (In My Record Machine)' is still not done "right" and probably won't see the light of day anytime soon.

They admitted that they were disappointed with this albums single sales but it's the way the music industry is changing rapidly. Gem added that a few years ago DVD singles were all the rage, but now the rules of the game changed again.

Andy, Gem & Liam think it's important to have b-sides on singles, and that's why Noel put 'Swollen Hands' on the Falling Down single.

During the sound check for the Hong Kong show (Today) Noel sung 'Stop The Clocks' and one other unnamed track that did not have the same lyrics as the one recorded in Taipei City.

Thanks To Kenny: As soon as I receive the interview I will post it.

Hrmph. So City lost (again!). No surprise there. We were woeful though. What's happened to Robinho?

It properly pissed down here yesterday. Yer'actual tropical thunder storm. Beautiful.

Gig was splendid. Hot and sticky. It was 86 degrees at 11 o'clock at night. Nice. Does kind of mean that there tends to be a lot of flip-flops around!

Lot of British people out here which I'm always suspicious of. Don't know why. What are they doing here? Buying cheap handbags for fat birds back home? Dunno.

Talking of back home - what's going on, anything exciting? Haven't seen a paper for weeks. No bad thing. Is it true that Madonna is trying to buy Shaun-Wright Phillips from Man City? Say it ain't so!

I'm on the way to Hong Kong.

In a bit.

Kaiser Chiefs Have No Time For Noel Gallagher

No time for 'the bitter old man'

Kaiser Chiefs can't be bothered by Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher's slagging

CALL it an unwelcome coincidence. Tomorrow, Kaiser Chiefs will play its first gig in Singapore, following last night's concert by fellow British band Oasis.

But don't count on them to high five and get all chummy with one another.

There's not a chance of that happening, said guitarist Andrew 'Whitey' White, 34, to The New Paper over the phone from the band's hometown in Leeds.

'We have no time for him at all,' White said curtly. The 'him' refers to Noel Gallagher, Oasis' abrasive, outspoken lead guitarist.

'Music is an art, but unfortunately, he doesn't appreciate music for what it is.'

White was responding to Gallagher's remarks about his band.

In an interview last year on BBC programme Newsbeat, Gallagher shot his mouth off and blurted, 'The Monkees haven't split up, they're just going under the name of the Kaiser Chiefs.'

The Monkees are a pop-singing quartet formed in the 1960s, known for its cheery, sing-a-long tunes.

To make things worse, it's not the first time Oasis slammed Kaiser Chiefs in public.

In 2005, in an interview with popular music magazine NME, Oasis vocalist Liam Gallagher called the band 'a bad Blur' - in reference to acclaimed alternative rockers and former chart rivals Blur.
According to White, he used to 'really respect the Gallagher brothers as musicians'.

However, in light of the recent name-calling, he called the whole episode 'nasty'.

'He (Noel Gallagher) started it out of the blue and it's really unfair, because we haven't said anything at all,' said White. 'It just shows what a bitter old man he has become.'

Music lovers were charmed with Kaiser Chief's unpretentious, fun blend of punk, disco and funk, a throwback to the new wave movement of the 1970s.

The band's second studio album, Yours Truly, Angry Mob, released in 2007, gave the guys further accolades - their first UK No1 single Ruby, as well as a No1 standing on the UK album charts.

However, following Kaiser Chiefs' latest offering, Off With Their Heads, the five lads from Leeds have been making headlines for the wrong reasons.

It was reported earlier in UK tabloid Daily Star, that it was 'planning to go on a hiatus' because the band members were 'disappointed by the poor performance of their new single, as well as the album'.

White scoffed at the claims.

'It's funny how one particular publication spins a story, and all the other media promptly pick it up. Our new album's doing amazingly well...'

He has the statistics to back him up - Off With Their Heads peaked at No2 on the UK album charts.

Putting negative news aside, the band is looking forward to its upcoming gig in Singapore, said White.

'We are a fantastic live band and it's going to be one of the best rock 'n' roll shows you'd ever experience,' he promised, sounding robust with confidence.

Taken From Noel's tour diary for oasisinet.com

So that was a bit mad. 18,000 people. Upstairs. On the 2nd floor of a huge exhibition centre. You could feel the building shake during "Rock 'N' Roll Star". Scary fun.

Taipei's mad as fuck. Never seen so many scooters in all my life. Suddenly feel very far from home. They worship snakes and electronic goods??? Bit like myself (apart from the snakes).

The Shoes and Tall Scratch have been having a philosophical discussion about the book of Tao! (That's not a joke, by the way!!) Highly amusing.

Am currently at the airport boarding a flight to Singapore. I liked it there last time. Hope it hasn't changed.

City play Arsenal tonight. Planning a night out to watch it.

Gotta go.

Jack P. Shepherd Isn't Keen On Getting Punched By Noel Gallagher

Jack P. Shepherd isn't keen on getting punched by Noel Gallagher.

The 'Coronation Street' actor says he's thrilled the Oasis frontman watches his soap, but isn't too sure about his plan to get a cameo in the show to beat up his character David Platt.

Jack said: "Apparently Noel was on the radio the other week and said he can't believe he hasn't been offered a part. When he was asked what he'd like to do if he was in the show he said he said he's like to punch that David Platt fella!"

"I love his music - Oasis are good. But it might be a little bit weird if he turned up on the cobbles. The audience would be wondering 'what's Noel Gallagher doing in Weatherfield?' "

He also revealed a little about his bad boy character's forthcoming plot in which he seeks revenge on Gary - whom he suspects of romancing his former girlfriend Tina - who David is desperate to get back with after returning from a visit to his father's in Liverpool.

David also embarks on a nice streak to lull everyone in the street into a false sense of security that he is a reformed character, though Jack reassures this is not the case.

He added: "David's determined to make everybody believe that he's truly changed this time. So that when something does go wrong in the future, he can make it look like it's down to someone else - like Gary!"

Live Forever, In Henley

Today was gonna be the day . . . that Nicole Appleton moved to Hollywood to become an actress.

But instead she and Oasis hubby Liam Gallagher are heading for a Wonderfallout cause he's keen to stay put.

It's caused bust-ups between the pair, because Nicole is desperate to move to LA to make it big. But former hellraiser Liam would rather settle down in Henley.

I overhead Nicole grumbling about Liam's decision at The Hill pub in Hampstead, north London, last week.

She told former All Saints member and close pal Melanie Blatt: "There are no jobs at the moment. I want to move to Hollywood and become an actress. I'd love to win an Oscar. But Liam wants to move to Henley so we're looking at places."

I doubt she's got what it takes to be the biggest Nicole since Kidman anyway.

Soz for the break in transmission. My phone don't work in Korea. Now..where were we?

The Japanese leg finished up with a bang. Great show. Was still feeling wiped out. Don't really think they seen us at our best this time. Does that make any sense? It does to me.

Talking of not making sense, tell me what you make of this. Y'know how them Japanese have a unique take on things? Well I was strutting 'round Shibuya (in Tokyo) the other day and I spotted something that made me laugh. Found myself on a street full of themed bars. Get on these.

An Irish bar (naturally).
An English bar.
A BRITISH bar (can't leave the Scots and the Welsh out - sweet really).
A Victorian bar?!

And this is the killer - a lads bar!? The sign in the window (in very laddish pink neon) read: LADS BAR (FOR CASUAL DRINKING). I had to have a look in. Y'never know, Mr al-Fayed's shoes might've been at the bar. There was a few boys in there with fresh NME/Shockwaves hairdooz. Looking about as casual as Franz Ferdinand putting on eyeliner!

Remember "The Sign"? Well the kids had them in Korea. Except these ones said "Noel Or Death"!! There was one at the airport today. In Taipei!! Madness.

That gig in Seoul was truly amazing. The stand-out gig of the whole tour so far. Who'd have thought it? Not me, that's for sure. God bless them South Korean kids.

Gotta go. It's taken me nearly 2 hours to write this. Bit too much to drink last night, etc.

In a bit.

Oasis Atist To Stage Exhibition

Oasis and Primal Scream graphic designer Julian House is launching a new exhibition in Scotland.

The artist, who also founded Ghostbox Records, is putting on 'The New Spirit Happening' at The Changing Room in Stirling on May 1.

The show comprises collected ephemera, screenprints and moving images that 'hint at supernatural phenomena'.

In turn, the works are inspired by the CS Lewis novel 'That Hideous Strength' and its fictional setting Belbury.

'The New Spirit Happening' runs until June 6.

Go to stirling.gov.uk/changingroom for more information.

House was responsible for the album cover for Oasis' latest album 'Dig Out Your Soul' and Primal Scream's 2000 LP 'XTRMNR'

The Salmon King Is Busted In South Korea

Seoul: The air intelligence unit at Seoul Incheon airport customs last night seized 16lbs of fresh Nova Scotia Salmon from a passenger who arrived from Tokyo Japan by an All Nippon Airlines flight.

Officials engaged in passenger profiling at the airport found the moves of Liam Gallagher (36), a resident of the United Kingdom and singer in popular Brit Rock band Oasis, suspicious and questioned him while he was coming out through the "nothing to declare" gate .

“When we questioned him, he did not admit to carrying anything. So we examined his clothing and found the fresh fish (Salmon) valued at US$147.00 (195,800 South-Korean Won) in his inside coat pockets . He had no valid document for the import of seafood or meat from the South Korean agricultural department,” a customs commissioner said.

On questioning, Mr. Gallagher told the officials a fan had given him the salmon as a gift at Tokyo airport , and that he was not aware of the import laws.

The import of fishes , dead or alive, requires a license from the Directorate General of Foreign Trade and clearance from the animal quarantine department.

Customs officials let Mr Gallagher proceed to his waiting limousine after the band's manger handed them tickets to Oasis' concert at Seoul's Olympic Gym #1 scheduled for Wednesday. (Sun Thin Wong)
