Oasis Gig Is A Family Affair

Oasis' gig at Wembley Arena on Thursday was a family affair with Liam Gallagher dedicating, er, Cigarettes And Alcohol, to sons Gene and Lennon. He's got some gall!

The lads were in the wings with Noel's daughter Anais, eight, who didn't believe he had written Wonderwall after an X Factor contestant attributed it to Ryan Adams.

Noel told us: "I had to assure my little girl that daddy did actually write the song."

Tickets for their 2009 tour with Kasabian and The Enemy go on sale next Friday at Oasisnet.com.

New Oasis Tour: No Date Yet For Eden

There's still no confirmation of when Oasis will play their postponed gig at the Eden Project.

The Eden Project and the management of Oasis are still in discussion over a new date to replace the September 27 concert that had to be cancelled due to the injury to Noel Gallagher, sustained when he was assaulted on-stage in Canada.

Despite the band announcing a new string of tour dates - in Manchester, Sunderland, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Dublin and Wembley Stadium - there was no mention for the Eden Project.

Here's the statement made by Eden as Oasis announce a string of stadium gigs in June of next year.

"We had hoped to make an announcement by now but confirming a suitable date that fits in with the band’s busy touring schedule and the calendar of events at Eden has taken longer than anticipated.

"We undertand that ticket holders are very eager to know and we would like to assure them that we will inform them as soon as there is any news on a rescheduled date.

"In the meantime, any ticket holder who would like a refund can contact Oasis Customer Services on 0844 567 0677."

New Bonehead Interview

Hello Bonehead. Everyone in the world knows what was in your front room 15 years ago. What's in your front room now?

"Well i've still got the stained glass from the "Definitely Maybe' sleeve (below), I've got a log fire going now but the actual fireplace is the same one."

They are Items of historical importance.

"It means you can never forget."

You decorated and plastered the "Definitely Maybe" front room your, do you still do that in your new home?

"Yes. Maybe I've got too much time in my hands - but in the new house i did it all over again. I got a wheelbarrow and a lumb hammer and just went mental on it, almost killed myself."

So if i wanted you to get you in to plaster the office where i work, how much would you charge?

"I'd definitely be up for it. When Noel briefly left the band, fucking years ago when we were in LA, I remember talking to Guigsy going,"fucking hell it could all be over." And he said, "Do you think you can stil Artex a ceiling?" I said, "fucking piece of piss." So he had this plan that we both bought a van Guigs & Bonehads Plastering. We reckoned we couldhave got a grand a ceiling!"

You've got a tour kicking off on Halloween. SPOOKY.

"Yeah it's an acoustic tour, it's me and Pete McCloud, two acoustic guitars and he's singing and I'm going to be DJing at some aftershows."

Why is it acoustic? Are you carrying you own equipment?

"No, Pete's a friend of Alan McGee's and he's sort of relocated to LA. I listened to some tracks and we agreed to do a couple of dates together, then that turned into us playing all over the place"

Oasis are still stumbling along, then.

"Oh, they'll go on untill they drop."

I'm quite impressed by the huge change of direction on the new album.

"I think it's brilliant. I think they've hit the spot again. I don't know about new direction but there's lots of shades of "Definitely Maybe" in there."

I was sort of taking the piss when i was talking about the new direction. This is very much an Oasis album.

"Well, yes. They're never going to go hip-hop are they? Well, they might. But i'm really enjoying the album."

So you listen to their stuff and wish you were still in the band to play it?

"It's a long time ago - It's 10 years since I was in the band. But they're out on tour now and i do think, "I'd love to have played on that." You always have those "what if" moments, but i don't have any regrets. I feel like i'm free to do whatever I want to do now."

"Whatever you choose..."

"And now I can have a great night playing with a band, or DJing, or doingthis acoustic tour."

What do you play when you're DJing?

"I jut play good music. Some people go "Oh, Arctic Monkeys, you can't touch that" and I'm like "why not? IT's what the kids want the hear and I quite like it. I did one gig where I was DJing off my iPod and it had all my kid's music on it and I hit the wrong song and "The Lion The Witch & The Wardrobe" came on. Two and a half minutes into it they were all raving! Top!"

Where do you stand on hats?

"Well, I'm just getting fitted for a new wig at the moment so I won't need to.. I'm joking. No I don't really wear hats.

Why not?

"I'm just not a hat man. I don't know. I have got a hat. I'm just not a hat person"

Are you going out tonight?

"Yes, I'm going to see a gig with McGee."

Wear a hat.

"I might."

Noel Gallagher: We're Playing Eight Glastonburys

Noel Gallagher reckons Glastonbury chief Michael Eavis will be “s****** himself” after Oasis announced their biggest arena tour yet.

The Manc rockers will play eight mammoth gigs next summer – and Kasabian and The Enemy will also be on the bill.

By the end of July 12 next year the band – Noel, Liam, Andy Bell, Gem Archer and Chris Shanrock – will have entertained more than a million ale-soaked punters on their epic 18-month world tour.

And the eight gigs will certainly be vying with Glastonbury for ticket buyers’ hard-earned cash.

Announcing the gigs at Wembley, Noel said: “Michael Eavis will be s******* himself when he sees this.

“I thought Knebworth was as big as it could get, but this takes it on.

“Wembley is a great British venue and it is going to be great playing here. I think they will easily be next year’s best gigs, if not the decade. I am really made up with the bill, what a night out. I am just glad I’ll be able to get tickets.

“This is what it’s all about, the gigs that go down in the memory, where people meet their future wives. Liam is s******* himself.”

Oasis start the tour at Heaton Park, Manchester, on June 6 next year. Noel said: “The last person to play Heaton Hall was The Pope in 1982. I supported him back then. I was doing stand up but the religious gags didn’t go down too well.”

Noel added: “Kasabian toured with us in the States a couple of years ago. We always said when we were doing the big super-gigs again we would give them first option.

“I liked The Enemy from the moment I heard their first single. With the three bands on in one night, if I was 16 or 17, I would want to be there.”

Roll on next summer . . .

Oasis To Play Heaton Park

After weeks of speculation, Oasis have confirmed two huge hometown shows at Heaton Park for next summer.

The Gallagher brothers originally caused anger when their 'Dig Out Your Soul 2008/2009 World Tour' was revealed to be going to Liverpool then Sheffield - and missing out Manchester.

But they included two homecoming dates as they announced an eight-concert UK stadium tour today.

The gigs at the biggest municipal park in Europe are a departure for the Burnage boys, who have played their beloved Maine Road, Old Trafford Cricket Ground and the City of Manchester Stadium in recent years.

The show's at the north Manchester park are part an eight-date outdoor jaunt and will see Midlands rockers Kasabian and The Enemy on the support bill.

On the dates, a typically cocksure Noel told a press conference: "Looking at the bill, I think these are going to be the gigs of next year, if not the decade for a certain demographic.

"I'm just glad I can get tickets. These are the gigs that people remember, they meet future wives.

"I give thanks that we're headlining it and not some heritage act on before a bunch of kids."

The Heaton Park concerts are the first two dates of the 2009 tour which ends with the band's debut appearances at the new Wembley stadium.

Oasis will also perform at Sunderland's Stadium of Light, Cardiff's Millennium Stadium, Murrayfield in Edinburgh, and Slane Castle in Dublin.

Noel Gallagher Makes R Kelly Glastonbury Jibe

Oasis' Noel Gallagher has attacked the lineup choices for Glastonbury Festival again, while announcing a new stadium tour.

Speaking at a Wembley Stadium press conference unveiling his band's 2009 tour, Gallagher jokingly asked whether US R 'n' B star R Kelly would be performing at the legendary festival in 2009.

The guitarist's remarks follow his controversial comments earlier this year, when he criticised the booking of rapper Jay-Z to headline the Pyramid Stage.

When asked whether Oasis' 2009 concert plans would allow them to play Glastonbury, Gallagher replied: "I think [organiser] Michael Eavis will s**t himself when he sees our press release."

And when questioned why he did not plan to play the Somerset event, he quipped: "Is R Kelly playing?"

Though Gallagher, 41, was keen to play down any rift between himself and Eavis, saying he had spoken to the festival chief only six weeks ago, he added: "[The stadium tour] is where it's at."

He continued: "I've always said Glastonbury's great to be at, but not to play at. There's not enough speakers and it's too quiet."

When asked in April of his opinion of Jay-Z's headlining set, Gallagher replied: " Jay-Z? No chance."

He went on: "Glastonbury has a tradition of guitar music and even when they throw the odd curve ball in on a Sunday night you go 'Kylie Minogue?'

"I don't know about it. But I'm not having hip-hop at Glastonbury. It's wrong."

The Roc-A-Fella mogul's Friday night show at Glastonbury 2008 began with a tongue-in-cheek tribute to Oasis, as Gallagher's remarks were broadcast before Jay-Z performed a rendition of the band's classic song Wonderwall.
