New Look Site

As reported a few weeks ago, I'm moving my site to a new host. It's had a bit of a revamp and I have added a lot more information to it and made it easier to navigate then the old site.

I'm still adding stuff to the current sections and changing bits around to it, I'm hoping to transfer the domain in the coming weeks.

I'm still editing and adding stuff to the four sections but for those of you who would like to have a visit go to http://www.stopcryingyourheartout.co.uk/ and update it to your bookmarks.

The other sections will be opening soon....

When I transfer the sites current URL http://stopcryingyourheartout.com/ name over from the sites current host to the new one. It will appear the site has been taken down, so I have set up the other URL to continue normal service to the site during the move.

It can take up to 72 hours for the transfer to complete.

After the move you can enter the site on either the stopcryingyourheartout.com or the stopcryingyourheartout.co.uk URL.

Oasis Live On Q Radio Tonight

You can catch Oasis live in concert in the first of a short series of gig specials, Q Headliners, over the coming weeks on Q Radio.

The band’s show, captured live at the SECC late last year, will be aired at 9pm (UK) on Q Radio tonight (January 7) and the hour-long show captures live tracks from the band’s tour to promote their most recent album Dig Out Your Soul.

The programme also features the band backstage.

Daniel Craig claims he is a better guitarist than Noel Gallagher.

The British actor would struggle to carry out the Oasis rocker's wishes and play him in a film because he would have to tone down his superior music skills.

Speaking at the European premiere of 'Defiance' in London's Leicester Square last night (07.01.09), Daniel told BANG Showbiz: "Well, I can play the guitar better than he can so I don't know how that's really going to work. He hasn't spoken to me about that yet, but if he wants to make a deal..."

Noel recently revealed the James Bond star - who is a huge Oasis fan - would be perfect to portray him in a movie about the band.

He said: "I wouldn't be averse to a film about Oasis. I would like Daniel to play me. I said to him, 'If you can swing it for me to get the James Bond theme tune, you can play me if they do an Oasis movie.' "

He then joked: "Who would play my brother Liam? I would have to say either Julian Clary or, in his first major role, Jeremy Kyle."

Daniel - who was joined on the red carpet by his co-stars Jamie Bell and Liev Schreiber - also said everyone involved in 'Defiance' did it for the love of the project rather than an inflated fee.

He added: "All the stories we took were based on fact. It was a really good bunch of people. No one did this film for the money.

"We had a laugh, we had to. It was cold so we drank a lot too."

The premiere was also attended by 'Pirates of the Caribbean...' star Jonathan Pryce and UK TV presenter Vanessa Feltz.

Noel Gallagher Interview In January's Manchester City Magazine

The January issue of the City Magazine is out now and the big interview for the first edition of 2009 is an exclusive chat with Noel Gallagher.

After years of trying to track down the Oasis star, editor David Clayton finally got his man, and Gallagher revealed: “I’m not sure why dad decided to support City. I think, romantically enough, it was because City were our local team.

“We were born in Longsight and as we all know, the other lot don’t come from Manchester.”

Along with the eight-page Noel feature, there are big interviews with Micah Richards, Benjani and this month’s Emerging Talent sees the magazine catch up with Academy striker Robbie Mak.

The Classic Match this month comes from a game at Maine Road in January 1975...do you know what it is yet?

My Hooligan Days, By Noel Gallagher

Noel Gallagher has revealed he used to kick about with footie hooligans when he was on the dole in Manchester.

The diehard Man City fan confessed that he often found himself at away games with the feared Mayne Line Crew, Under-5s and Young Guvnors in the Eighties.

He said: “I knew all that lot and I still see a few of them today. They were quite mad times. Half of us were on the dole. The grounds we used to go to 20 years ago were dangerous, especially night games at Leeds and places like that, and wondering whether or not you’d make it home in one piece.”

But Noel reckons the experience might have played a part in his decision to become a rock ’n’ roll star.

He said: “I did start a song in the Kippax (a stand at City’s old Maine Road ground) when I’d had a drink. Probably something like, ‘Everywhere we go’ or similar and everyone joined in.

“So maybe the first seeds of my songwriting career were sown at the back of the Kippax.”

Noel also holds his hands up for forgetting the date of the first game he saw.

He said: “I’d got it in my head it was 1971 when we beat Newcastle 5-1 at Maine Road but I’ve recently looked that game up and it was actually 1975.”

Oasis Announce Korean Date

Oasis are to return to Korea after 3 years to play a show at the Olympic Stadium in Seoul on April 1st.

This will be their 2nd visit to Korea after their sold out show back in 2006.The show is part of their 2008/2009 World Tour, which covers UK, Europe, North America, Japan and Asia.

The tickets will go on sale on Thursday January 15th at 4 PM (local time) via Interpark and their various offline outlets in the city.

Liam Gallagher 'Wants To Work With Girls Aloud'

Oasis bad boy singer Liam Gallagher, 36, wants to team up with Girls Aloud - and in particular Sarah Harding.

He raved about how much he loves the girl band when he met fellow caner Sarah, 27, at London's Gilgamesh restaurant on New Year's Eve.

A source said: "Liam thinks the girls are great and Sarah a lot of fun." He was probably in awe of her drinking ability, too.

Oasis And Ricky Hatton Warned Over Drugs Wars

Boxer Ricky Hatton and his Oasis rocker pals were at the centre of a kidnap scare when the band’s world tour hit Mexico.

The Hitman and the Gallagher brothers were told not to roam the streets amid fears they would be targeted by drug gangs.

Ricky, 30, joined the band on their tour stop-off at Mexico City after Liam and Noel carried his belt for his Vegas bout with Pauli Malignaggi in November.

But when they arrived at the swanky £310-a-night Four Seasons Hotel a security official warned them to stay indoors.

Ricky said: “We were told not to go out of our hotel. They said there were a lot of kidnap gangs prowling the streets and we might be targeted because of who we were.

“It was pretty scary. People are getting killed all over the place as part of a massive gangland feud. So we took their advice and partied in the hotel instead.”

High-profile stars are seen as prime kidnap targets as gangs attempt to extort massive ransoms.

Mexico is now the kidnap capital of the world, with around 70 abductions reported each month. And the drugs war claimed more than 5,400 lives last year alone.

New Calls For Special Civic Reception To Celebrate Gallagher Brothers' Irish Roots

The Irish roots of Oasis brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher may finally be celebrated -- with a civic reception.

Failing to honour the bestselling brothers has been "a long standing injustice," according to Mayo councillor Michelle Mulherin (FG).

The two rock icons have never been honoured in their mother's home country.

Now Cllr Mulherin intends to put that right -- by tabling a motion for this month's meeting of Mayo Co Council.

She will call on the local authority to honour he two Manchester-born stars of Oasis.

"The story of Liam and Noel Gallagher is that of so many of the Irish diaspora, it's the Irish dream fulfilled," Cllr Mulherin said.

"They stayed close to their mother's homeplace and to Irish culture. Mayo is not just in their blood, it's etched in their hearts.

"When they came to visit the home-place as children, they came to a place with no running water, which wasn't uncommon in that era," she said.

"They always talk fondly about their memories of going fishing and berry-picking, and going into the local shop for Silvermints or a Brunch. Those are memories so many Irish people identify with."

Noel and Liam are the sons of Peggy Sweeney of Charlestown, and they regularly visit the east Mayo town. The pair were close to their maternal grandmother Margaret, who died in 2000.

They have often referred in media interviews to their memories of visits to Charlestown in the 1970s and 1980s.

Both men visited Charlestown regularly while their grandmother was alive, making one celebrated trip in 1997 when Oasis were at the height of their fame.

Rock wildmen Noel and Liam Gallagher have been at the forefront of rock n’ roll for the last decade, but their brotherly love has, at times, torn the Oasis members apart - and it now threatens to do so for good. That is, at least, according to Power’s psychic interpretations.

Noel Gallagher recently revealed his solo compositions are nothing short of “masterpieces” - so could he be preparing to step into the limelight on his own? He even admitted he still blames Liam for the band failing to crack the American market back in 1996 with their hit album (What's The Story) Morning Glory? - grumbling that Oasis missed out on millions in potential earnings because of his brother’s last minute cancellation.

The older Gallagher brother said: “I still blame him for the fact that we never cracked the U.S. When we had one of the biggest selling albums in the world, and were about to begin a crucial U.S. tour, he arrived at the airport, gave some ludicrous excuse that he couldn't get on the plane, and left us stranded."

And after that horrific stage invasion in September (08) which left Noel nursing three broken and dislodged ribs, Power reckons the Gallagher brothers will call it quits after they complete their summer (09) tour.

So, 17 years, seven studio albums and three Grammy nominations later, are the Wonderwall hitmakers ready to leave it all behind? The odds are certainly decent if you fancy a flutter on these Mancunians going their separate ways.

Taylor Hatches Masterplan For Success

The description of darts as the “new rock'n'roll” could be sealed tonight when Oasis swap stage for oche. Phil Taylor claimed last night that Noel Gallagher and his brother, Liam, are likely to watch from the sidelines as he does battle against Mervyn King in the Ladbrokes.com PDC World Championship semi-final. Sugababes are also expected to be in attendance.

Some might say that Taylor has been left looking back in anger at his exits in this tournament in the past two years. He is determined to take the crown for the fourteenth occasion, illustrated by the way he demolished Co Stompe, the Dutchman, 5-0 in the quarter-final on Thursday. “I am told [the Gallaghers] will be here to see me and you have to roll with it,” Taylor said. “I have not met them, but I know they like the darts.”

Quite what Robbie Williams, who allowed Taylor, his friend, to practise at his mansion in Los Angeles in the summer, makes of it is not known. Williams and the Gallaghers had a public falling-out. “Robbie will beat me up,” Taylor said. “I hope they are mates now.” A war of words erupted between King and Taylor after King suggested that he was as good, on top form, as his opponent. King, the No12 seed, has defeated Taylor twice this season. “I want Taylor,” he said. “I have the game inside me to beat him. I want to beat him on television.”

"Boy With The Blues" from Oasis is on the upcoming album - NCIS: The Official TV Soundtrack.

Apparently it's the first time this track will be available for sale in the U.S., and it's also going to be used prominently in an upcoming episode of NCIS in early 2009.

Tom Clarke: “Noel Gallagher Is My Hero Of The Year"

The Enemy are ready to rock 2009 with an album they claim is the dog’s proverbials.

The plucky trio have been given a huge shot of confidence after being hand-picked by Noel Gallagher, 41, to support Oasis on their Wembley Stadium gigs in the summer.

And the Coventry rockers say the follow-up to No 1 disc We’ll Live And Die In These Towns will bear the hallmarks of the Gallagher brothers’ big, brash sound.

Excited frontman Tom Clarke, 20, told me: “We are absolutely buzzing.

“We know we are making something good so there’s no need for second album nerves.

“Everyone from Oasis to The Verve, and some much heavier stuff, has inspired us.

“Just imagine the first record has grown a set of bollocks and has got some stubble.

“It’s more worldly and the tunes have more depth. We wanted it to sound huge.

“Our drummer is a tiny person who makes a massive sound and we wanted to capture that.

“It’s hard to do that on CD so we’re recording onto good, old-fashioned tape ’cos it sounds bigger and better.”

Tom – along with drummer Liam Watts, 21, and bassist Andy Hopkins, 20 – will release the as-yet-untitled disc in time for the Oasis support shows in July.

Despite being so young, the lads are not quaking in their adidas at the thought of playing with the Britpop legends.

Tom explained: “Noel Gallagher is my hero of the year for asking us to support him.

“Everyone expects us to be nervous but the bigger the event, the bigger the thrill.

“Nerves don’t come into it. You get a massive shot of adrenaline – that’s the pay-off.

“We’re going to go on, play our gig, get our rush of adrenaline and then go watch Oasis and Kasabian – what a sh*t job!”
