Russell Brand Joins Noel Gallagher For A Night Out

He has spent most of the past two months Stateside, but as his partner in crime prepares to return to work it appears Russell Brand is also returning to his old ways.
The actor and comedian joined fellow hellraiser Noel Gallagher of Oasis for a night out at the Groucho Club in London.
It was just like old times as the two left to return home at around 2.15am, with Brand handing a £10 note to a pleased homeless man.
Brand resigned from as a presenter at Radio 2 in October over the phone calls row involving comedian Jonathan Ross and Fawlty Towers actor Andrew Sachs.
Ross is currently preparing to return to screens following his three-month suspension with Friday Night With Jonathan Ross on 23 January.
His first show will feature comedians Stephen Fry and Lee Evans. Franz Ferdinand will also perform their new single Ulysses live in the studio.
Brand, 33, is back in Britain after keeping himself busy filming The Tempest alongside Dame Helen Mirren and Jeremy Irons in Hawaii.
After the unexpected demise of his radio show he has focussed on building his career in Hollywood, with his latest film Bedtime Stories at cinemas now.
He is also rumoured to be appearing in the next Pirates Of The Caribbean film as Johnny Depp's brother.

Noe Gallagher's Oldham Taunt

Oasis star Noel Gallagher has sparked a storm by claiming Oldham Athletic supporters are really Manchester City fans who `just live too far from the ground'.
The rock legend, a lifelong Blue, made the comments in an exclusive interview in this month's City magazine.
But Simon Corney, 36, one of Latics' trio of owners, has hit back in spectacular fashion by claiming that Oasis followers are in fact frustrated Beatles fans.
In a frank chat about the band's roots Noel, 41, talks about his time as a roadie with the iconic Oldham outfit Inspiral Carpets.
He says: "I think (guitarist) Graham Lambert was an Oldham fan, as most of the band was. Keyboardist Clint Boon wasn't that bothered as I recall, but I always think of Oldham fans as virtually City fans anyway.
"I don't think I've ever met an Oldham fan who didn't say, `Well, I'm really a Blue anyway, I just live too far from the ground'." That `revelation' prompted a sharp response from Mr Corney.
He said: "It's funny Noel should say that because I was speaking to an Oasis fan the other day. He told me all their fans were really Beatles fans - it's just they can't go and watch them any more for obvious reasons."
Other Latics fans were less courteous.
Anthony Williamson, 40, from Watersheddings, said: "What a load of rubbish. City? If they were playing in my back garden I'd close the curtains."
Andy Buckley, 31, from Shaw, said: "Although we only have five to six thousand turn up every week they are Oldham through and through. There are plenty of wannabe Mancunians in this town but they're not Latics fans."
But some Oldham fans had sympathy for outspoken Noel. Season ticket holder Dermot Butler, 39, from Leeds, said: "It's got to be tongue-in-cheek. I'd say most of us like to see City do well. I certainly prefer them to that red shower down the road."
Burnage-raised Noel tells the magazine about his 35-year love affair with the Blues, why former chairman Franny Lee tried to sign him and which Oasis record was penned with City in mind.
The City magazine is out now, priced £2.50

The Vortex Tipped For Big Things In 2009

The Vortex
You can always put your trust in Manchester music and the Vortex are set for big things. Peter Hook is down with them, and they've been setting their controls for the heart of the northern anthem as if Kasabian never existed. Plus, the new demos have been surpassing all expectation: pure anthems for party people. Oh yeah, they just added Bonehead (of Oasis fame) on guitar.

As reported a few weeks ago, I'm moving my site to a new host. It's had a bit of a revamp and I have added a lot more information to it and made it easier to navigate then the old site.
I'm still adding stuff to the current sections and changing bits around to it, I'm hoping to transfer the domain in the coming weeks.
I'm still editing and adding stuff to the four sections but for those of you who would like to have a visit go to http://www.stopcryingyourheartout.co.uk/ and update it to your bookmarks.
The other sections will be opening soon....
When I transfer the sites current URL http://stopcryingyourheartout.com/ name over from the sites current host to the new one. It will appear the site has been taken down, so I have set up the other URL to continue normal service to the site during the move.

Daniel Craig Claims He Is A Better Guitarist Than Noel Gallagher

Daniel Craig claims he is a better guitarist than Noel Gallagher.
The British actor would struggle to carry out the Oasis rocker's wishes and play him in a film because he would have to tone down his superior music skills.
Speaking at the European premiere of 'Defiance' in London's Leicester Square last night (07.01.09), Daniel told BANG Showbiz: "Well, I can play the guitar better than he can so I don't know how that's really going to work. He hasn't spoken to me about that yet, but if he wants to make a deal..."
Noel recently revealed the James Bond star - who is a huge Oasis fan - would be perfect to portray him in a movie about the band.
He said: "I wouldn't be averse to a film about Oasis. I would like Daniel to play me. I said to him, 'If you can swing it for me to get the James Bond theme tune, you can play me if they do an Oasis movie.' "
He then joked: "Who would play my brother Liam? I would have to say either Julian Clary or, in his first major role, Jeremy Kyle."
Daniel - who was joined on the red carpet by his co-stars Jamie Bell and Liev Schreiber - also said everyone involved in 'Defiance' did it for the love of the project rather than an inflated fee.
He added: "All the stories we took were based on fact. It was a really good bunch of people. No one did this film for the money.
"We had a laugh, we had to. It was cold so we drank a lot too."
The premiere was also attended by 'Pirates of the Caribbean...' star Jonathan Pryce and UK TV presenter Vanessa Feltz.

Noel Gallagher Interview In January's Manchester City Magazine

The January issue of the City Magazine is out now and the big interview for the first edition of 2009 is an exclusive chat with Noel Gallagher.
After years of trying to track down the Oasis star, editor David Clayton finally got his man, and Gallagher revealed: “I’m not sure why dad decided to support City. I think, romantically enough, it was because City were our local team.
“We were born in Longsight and as we all know, the other lot don’t come from Manchester.”
Along with the eight-page Noel feature, there are big interviews with Micah Richards, Benjani and this month’s Emerging Talent sees the magazine catch up with Academy striker Robbie Mak.
The Classic Match this month comes from a game at Maine Road in January 1975...do you know what it is yet?
As well as all the usual features and quirky pieces the Club’s final Creating Chances appearances by Micah Richards and Shaun Wright-Phillips are covered.
Still priced at just £2.50, the City Mag is available from all good news outlets across the Manchester area, as well as the CityStores at the stadium and in the Arndale Centre.

My Hooligan Days, By Noel Gallagher

Noel Gallagher has revealed he used to kick about with footie hooligans when he was on the dole in Manchester.
The diehard Man City fan confessed that he often found himself at away games with the feared Mayne Line Crew, Under-5s and Young Guvnors in the Eighties.
He said: “I knew all that lot and I still see a few of them today. They were quite mad times. Half of us were on the dole. The grounds we used to go to 20 years ago were dangerous, especially night games at Leeds and places like that, and wondering whether or not you’d make it home in one piece.”
But Noel reckons the experience might have played a part in his decision to become a rock ’n’ roll star.
He said: “I did start a song in the Kippax (a stand at City’s old Maine Road ground) when I’d had a drink. Probably something like, ‘Everywhere we go’ or similar and everyone joined in.
“So maybe the first seeds of my songwriting career were sown at the back of the Kippax.”
Noel also holds his hands up for forgetting the date of the first game he saw.
He said: “I’d got it in my head it was 1971 when we beat Newcastle 5-1 at Maine Road but I’ve recently looked that game up and it was actually 1975.”
Back when telly was in black and white.
