Oasis Interview In New Edition Of Q Magazine

"I don't know any f***ing 'guys'. I've never hung out with f***ing 'guys' in my life. Everyone I hang out with is a geezer." Mercifully, there's still only one Liam Gallagher.

Q travelled to Amsterdam to witness a vintage Oasis set and a rare all-night boozing session.

Early next week we will be posting an exclusive Q&A with Noel Gallagher on a range of different subjects.

I was lucky enough to be allowed to do an email interview with Noel and asked him numerous questions covering the band now and when I first saw them in 1994, the lack of B-sides on the first two singles from Dig Out Your Soul, Russell Brand, Ricky Hatton, Dizzee Rascal and about changing the set-list for the upcoming UK stadium tour and much more.

Check back early next week for the exclusive interview...

Spent the day in bed yesterday nursing a bad head. For some reason I watched MTV’s European Top 10. Fuck me, it was painful. Leona Lewis doing Snow Patrol? Ouch! Kings Of Leon doing U2? Ouch! The Killers doing fancy dress? Ouch! Lady Gaga? (I may be showing my age here but who’s Lady Gaga?). It made my teeth hurt! MY TEETH!!

That interview with The Sunday Times fella was great. He was good fun. Not often you can say that about a journalist.

Still in Venice. Leaving shortly. I genuinely have no idea where I’m going. Are we staying in Italy? I hope so. These kids make for amazing gigs.

Wonder how “the shoes” are getting on? I’ll find out soon enough.

In a bit.

Liam Gallagher's Black Mood

Noel Gallagher says his brother Liam is like the "blackest winter ever".

The Oasis rocker believes he is far more optimistic than his sibling bandmate, and claims Liam - who he has repeatedly clashed with over the years - often has a gloomy effect on people.

When asked what season he is most like, Noel said: "I am eternally spring. But my brother Liam is like the blackest winter ever."

The guitarist went on to analyse people who compare themselves to other seasons, saying: "Anyone who chooses autumn must be a geography teacher. People who chose summer are not to be trusted. I chose spring because that is when my birthday is."

The 41-year-old musician also revealed his 17-month-old son Donovan, whose mother is Noel's long-term partner Sara MacDonald, already has a strong personality.

He added: "He is the greatest human being I have ever met in my life. He really is just laugh a minute."

Noel - who also has an eight-year-old daughter, Anais, with ex-wife Meg Mathews - revealed Donovan is trying to get to grips with what his rock star dad does for a job.

He explained: "He doesn't really understand my job. All he sees is that one minute I am there and the next minute I am gone."

FORZA ROMA!! What a gig. Up there with best so far. Loud, loud, loud!!

Woke up in Venice this morning. 6.45 am. Had to get a boat to our hotel. Sailed through the "streets" then across the river just as the sun was rising up like a fuzzy tennis ball in the haze. What a beautiful way to start the day.

Being interviewed by The Sunday Times today. Wonder how long it'll take the geezer to mention Tony Blair? 30 mins, I reckon.

Got a day off here tomorrow. Should be interesting getting on that boat drunk later. Wonder if Mohamed al-Fayed's shoes will get wet? I'll let you know.

In a bit.

Ciao.

We're in Rome. It's great to be back. I forget how much I love this town. Very pleasing to the eye. Noisy though. Was everyone born tooting a fuckin' horn here, or what?

Watched Man City last night. Fuckin' blew it in the last minute. Feel sorry for Sparky. Some of our players are dopey. Still, 2-2 away from home's not bad.

They had Sky News at the hotel. I kept seeing re-runs of The Brits. My God, you could smell the cheese from the Colosseum.

Bang-up for this gig tonight. If memory serves me correctly we smashed it here last time. There may have been a small riot!

I have to go. A pair of Mohamed al-Fayed's shoes have just arrived.

In a bit.

You Gotta Row With It Liam Gallagher

Some Might Say rowdy Liam Gallagher bit off more than he could chew when he had a one-to-one with a giant snapper.

The Oasis star got set to square up after he was caught on camera chatting to a blonde in a restaurant.

Furious Liam – who has a history of scuffling with photographers – charged out, apparently spoiling for a fight.

But things changed when he discovered the awesome size of his opponent.

The cameraman, six inches taller than the singer and about twice his weight, towered over him.

Liam, 36, waved his arms around and swapped a few choice words – then went in for a hug instead and got a friendly pat and a smile from his would-be rival. The snapper had upset the star when he took a picture as Liam relaxed with pals after a gig in Rome.

“The whole scene was really funny,” said an onlooker. “Liam was chatting to a girl who was in his group of pals and was furious when he thought their picture had been taken.

“He came hurtling out to take on the photographer but was dwarfed as soon as he stood next to him.

“It seemed like he’d had a few drinks and there was a bit of a confrontation, but he quickly thought better of it.

“Liam even showed his softer side by making up with the man. He has this image of a hardman but perhaps he is more interested in a cuddle nowadays.”

Oasis - Falling Down Single Review

A remix of this tune has already been released as a B-Side from 'The Shock Of The Lightning' but that doesn't concern the likes of Noel Gallagher, and lets face it two singles have come off 'Dig Out Your Soul' and Noel has not been lead vocals on either. It seems that single number three will be a Noel sung track, and what better song than 'Falling Down'.

Normally Mr Gallagher senior does like a sing a long tune that everyone can bellow along too after nine, ten or eleven pints, but this time he has really hit the nail on the head with a glorious track. With The Chemical Brothers remix 'Falling Down' is a superb track, without the remix it is just as strong and you find yourself arguing with yourself on which version is better, because you don't dislike either.

In reality love or hate this band it will be a sad day in British music when these guys decide to call it a day, Oasis are the real deal and although they have a lot to answer for, for many s**t bands forming because of them, they are still legendary.

8/10

Visitors to Oasisinet.com are currently being redirected to the band's myspace page. A statement posted there explains that the site's host Trinity Street unexpectedly ceased trading last week. Trinity was also running the band's official online merchandising store. The problems are currently being worked on and both the online store and website should have a new home soon the post concluded.
