Noel Gallagher To Unveil Debut Solo Album Plans Tomorrow!

Noel Gallagher looks certain to reveal his debut solo album plans at a press conference in London tomorrow, Wednesday 6 July. Invites have been circulated from Gallagher's own Sour Mash label for the event, which is set to be a guest list only affair.

MusicRadar will have a roving reporter on the inside so stay tuned for updates, but in the meantime, what do we know already?

In 2008, Noel claimed to have "loads of new songs... and they're all brilliant", while following the Oasis split in 2009, rumours began to fly around, with Alan McGee perhaps predictably chiming in to say that Gallagher's new material is "totally amazing."

2011 has seen recent sightings in LA studios and a hastily-withdrawn announcement from a production company claiming to have worked on a video for a track called The Death Of You And Me. This will almost certainly be the title of Noel's debut solo single.

This 'leaked' tracklisting now seems unlikely to be 100 percent accurate, although we still wonder if lost Noel songs from the Oasis era such as Stop The Clocks, I Want To Live In A Dream In My Record Machine and If I Had A Gun might finally get an official release. Liam certainly seems to think so.

One thing's for sure, we'll know more tomorrow and as soon as we do, you will too. Here's hoping that Noel's new songs are this good.

Alan McGee Talks Oasis

Taken from an interview with Alan Mcgee, read the full article here.

Alan on when Oasis played T In The Park in 1994.

He smiles: "Oasis played one of their best ever shows at the first T In The Park back in 1994.

"To this day the Gallagher brothers don't know I was actually there - they thought I was drying out in rehab.

"But I made it in time to sneak in with my sister Susan. It was the first time I'd seen them clean and sober - they were still great."

On trying to arrange a pay-per-view Oasis gig.

I even tried to set up a pay-per-view Oasis gig in Antarctica. We'd have sold it around the world for £10 a ticket.

"It would have easily made us £50m for just one gig. But Noel didn't fancy the cold."

On Oasis in the US.

Oasis also failed to break America, but Alan disagrees: "They did in a sales way - shifting eight to 10m records in the States. But you're right - there weren't American kids walking about like Liam, like there were over here."

Alan - whose documentary Upside Down: The Creation Records Story is out now on DVD - says: "My daughter hates Oasis and all the whole Britpop era. She now tortures me with Glee.

"But I'm fine with that. I once said to Noel Gallagher, 'I will always be known as the Oasis guy'.

"And he replied, 'Same here - but it could be worse, you could have been the guy who discovered The Darkness'."

Noel Gallagher Responds To Robbie Williams Jibe

Robbie Williams should know better than to raise the ire of Noel Gallagher.

On Friday night at Wembley, Robbie said: "The Rolling Stones have done two nights here. Oasis did three - Take That are here for eight on the trot. Mick Jagger can lick Gary Barlow's face. Noel Gallagher can lick my a**e."

And not for the first time in their colourful past, his old nemesis Noel has responded with a jibe.

Referring to Robbie's revelation that he has the sex drive of a 100-year-old, Noel said: "Lick his big fat Bobby-Butlins a**e? Wow! The hormone replacements must be doing the trick, eh? I'd rather suck on his man boobs." Robbie told Esquire magazine he regularly injects testosterone to treat a diagnosed hormone imbalance.

It's like pulling your pants down and asking for your bottom to be spanked in public by an opportunist verbal sparring partner like Noel.

And he's wise to get it out of the way now. The recently married Manc has a big announcement this week about his solo career - which shouldn't be dominated by someone else's antics.

Robbie doesn't need the mud-slinging any more.

It's a waste of energy and - more importantly for his baby-hungry missus Ayda - a waste of that priceless testosterone.

Liam Gallagher: 'The Guitar Noel Smashed When Oasis Split Will Fund My Pension'

Beady Eye man says Paris altercation has left him with a piece of rock'n'roll history.

Liam Gallagher has joked that he's planning to use the guitar smashed by his brother Noel when Oasis split to fund his pension.

The Beady Eye man recalled the altercation, which occurred in Paris in 2009, during an interview on Alan Carr: Chatty Man, which was broadcast on Channel 4 last night (July 1).

Asked whether rumours that he smashed one of Noel's guitars during the incident were true, Liam responded: "No it was the other way round, he smashed one of mine. I've still got it in pieces. It's a shame, it was a nice guitar.

He continued: "It's rock'n'roll history man, it'll be worth a few quid that in a few year's time that. I could sell it on in bits. That's my pension."

A supposed eyewitness account published on a gossip website in 2009 claimed that both Liam and Noel smashed each other's guitars during the fight.

Liam also reiterated his belief that Beady Eye are better than Oasis, commenting: "I wouldn't do it if I didn't think we were better."

The singer also discussed his decision to quit alcohol and his reasons for not attending Noel's recent wedding to Sara Macdonald.

Beady Eye performed their new single 'The Beat Goes On' to close the programme, which is available to watch on 4oD for the next six days.
