Noel Gallagher On 'Don't Look Back In Anger' And Manchester

Noel Gallagher has spoken out on the use of  Oasis' ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’ as a response to the Manchester terror attack that took place in May, he told the current issue of Q that he was left “speechless” after watching a vigil break into the song following a minute’s silence.

He said "It's about a woman who's watching her life drift past but she's raising a glass to it and saying 'you know what, I've no regrets.' Post Manchester, it's become this anthem of defiance. It hit me like a fucking anvil when I was watching the news (the vigil for the victims). There's the minutes silence, and all these people are there in their own thoughts, and that girl decides she's going to bring everybody together and sing that song. Everybody knew the words, and everybody joined in. It was an incredible moment, really touching. I was like 'fucking hell' . I didn't know what to say.

I'm glad that I'm not the over-emotional type, so I can do it every night. Because the night leading up to the (reopening of Manchester arena), I was nervous about singing it, because it might hit me halfway through. You live for those moments where something is happening. On the other hand you're thinking 'I wish it was never taking place. ' I guess from now on in Manchester it will forever be associated with that. I'm OK with it."

Noel Gallagher Says He Has No Unfinished Business With Oasis

Noel Gallagher has spoken about reforming Oasis to the current issue of Q and said he has no unfinished business with the band.

He said "I don't need the money, I don't need the glory, I don't need to relive the memories. If I was to get Oasis back together tomorrow and then do a tour, I'd have a hundred million dollars in the bank but I'd have learnt fuck-all. I'd have actually wasted a year of being in the studio with a person like David Holmes. It would be the death of me as a person." And what would be the point? "I could understand if we were a band who'd been going for five years and were just at our peak, but Oasis have got no unfinished business. We did it. We fucking did it, and then some. It's done."

Noel Gallagher Has No Interest In Listening To Liam's 'As You Were' Album And More

Noel Gallagher has compared himself to a Eagle and his brother Liam as a common pigeon, he also said he has no interest in listening to 'As You Were'.

He told the current issue of Q "What you have to understand is the tweeting is all playing up to the gallery. I'll be in the boozer and someone will say, 'fucking hell, our kids gone Donald Trump.' Buy y'know, I'm trying to soar like a Eagle and I'm being asked to comment on the ramblings of a common pigeon."

He added "People want me to come out with all guns blazing. I know the game. I know how it works. I invented it. But mate, I couldn't adequately express my indifference to it. I know him better than anyone else on the planet and what you see, that's what Oasis was like. Is it any fucking wonder we're not together? And it's not going to stop by the way. It's only going to get worse."

When asked "Does he blame himself for any of this?" Noel replied "What For? I don't blame myself for the end of the band, no. I freely admit I can be cold, I can be indifferent. Maybe that drives him mad. And If it does..." he laughs. "Good."

The reporter asked "It can't go on forever can it? "Ha" he laughs sharply "I think you'll find it will. I think you'll find it will."

He was also asked why he has no interest in listening to Liam's debut album 'As You Were'.

He said "Because I'm not a fan, I'm not going to learn anything. He doesn't write his own songs, so it means nothing to me".

Liam Gallagher To Move To Paris Before He's 50

Liam Gallagher is moving to Paris, where he plans to “rock” a beret.

The former Oasis rocker, 45, tells me he and girlfriend Debbie Gwyther, 35, have eyed up properties and plan to be there by the time he is 50.

He says: “I’m definitely moving to Paris. By the time I am 50 I am going to live in Paris.

"I f****** love it. I love the buildings. I will rock a beret easy, I’ll rock the onions as well and a stripy thing and a wonky bike with a baguette on my arm. I’ll rock that.

“We love it and Debbie speaks French so she can do all the ordering. I’ve done everything and you think ‘What goals have I got left?’.”

We caught up at the Q Awards this week, where Liam picked up two gongs, including the Icon Award, before partying until 5am.

And he had a few choice words for X Factor boss Simon Cowell , saying: “I have had enough of Cowell.

“You’ve got these pop stars who make millions and none of them can f****** sing. I’m not having it... that needs taking off the air.”

Noel Gallagher: Oasis Would Never Have Formed If It Wasn't For Slade

Noel Gallagher has paid a remarkable tribute to Slade – insisting that without them Oasis would not have been formed.

Writing in Slade guitarist Dave Hill’s newly published autobiography, Gallagher said: “No Slade = No Oasis. It’s as devastating and as simple as that.”

“The Stone Roses? Yeah, they played their part. The Beatles? Well they were undeniably great... but Slade?

“I felt their songs could’ve been written at the end of my street... in a house just like mine.”

Liam Gallagher On Why He Won't Wear Shit Clothes And Become Prime Minister

His witticisms would make great soundbites at Prime Minister’s Questions but Liam Gallagher says he will never turn his hand to politics because he thinks the House of Commons “stinks of tofu, cigars, coffee and s*** aftershave”.

The former Oasis singer and prolific Twitter user won’t be using social media to try to lead the country, a la Donald Trump.

“Me, as PM?” he says, “God no. Not even if you paid me, mate. You’ve got to wear s*** clothes haven’t you to be PM?

“Can you imagine me stood there in my parka and that? You’ve got to wear a stupid suit and that’s so not for me.

“Imagine what it smells like in the House of Commons . All those tofu-eating, coffee-drinking, cigar-smoking... I bet they’ve all got s*** aftershave and all the birds have s*** perfume. I bet it stinks in there. Not for me.

“You know when there’s people snoring and stuff when you’re trying to get your point across? I’d lose my s*** in there.”

Liam has previously said he enjoys watching PMQs so much he tapes episodes of it saying: “I like it! Where they all just go like that, ‘Rahrahyahyah’. I find it funny.”

However, he was not invited to Downing Street when his brother Noel attended Tony Blair ’s Cool Britannia party back in 1997.

Defending Trump’s Twitter usage, Liam tells Mashable: “He’s got the right to use his s*** as much as everyone else doesn’t he?

“If you’re going to single one person out you might as well close the whole thing down. And what would I do in my spare time then, eh?”

Liam made use of his Twitter account following his night out at this week’s Q Awards, where he collected two gongs at London’s Roundhouse.

He praised Skepta, whom he’d been locked in conversation with at Warner Music’s afterparty at Primrose Hill pub The Engineer, describing their chat as “a meeting of the minds... a bumping of the ears”.
