On October 2nd 1995, Oasis released the '(What's The Story) Morning Glory?' album.

It's spent weeks on the Official UK Album Chart and is the fifth best-selling album in UK history.

On February 16th 2010, Oasis' album '(What's The Story) Morning Glory?' won the award for the best album of the past 30 years at the Brit Awards ceremony at Earl's Court in London.

Oasis' (What's The Story) Morning Glory? was easily the biggest selling album in the UK in the 1990s. It was comfortably ahead of Simply Red 'Stars 'and The Spice Girls 'Spice.

At the end of the first week of sales, the album had sold a record-breaking 347,000 copies, making it (at the time) the second-fastest-selling album in British history, behind Michael Jackson's Bad.

It entered the UK charts at number 1, it stayed around the top three for the rest of the year before a 6-week stay at the top in mid January, followed by a further three weeks at number 1 in March.

In total, the album didn't leave the top three for an astonishing seven months.

On September 29th 1994 Oasis played the now infamous gig at the The Whiskey (A Go Go) in Los Angeles, USA.

In what has been described by the band as a 'fucking shambles' in the documentary Supersonic, every member of Oasis was playing a different song to the other while they were on stage.

Liam said they were all off their heads on crystal meth "We all thought it was coke and were doing big fucking lines of it. The band was up for days."

Following the gig Noel Gallagher quit the band and flew out to San Francisco to spend time with a girl that he’d been seeing.

In his own words: "I don't know what the fuck I thought I was doing. Was I just going to disappear? But Talk Tonight was written about those few days (when he was about to leave the band) and out of that came that great song. It was meant to be. I sat in this girl's flat, probably doing a bit too many fucking drugs and being a bit fucking mad, unbeknownst to me, they (Oasis management) found out where I was. I'd written these new songs - and someone booked a recording session - that was Oasis' fucking cure for everything."

Damon Albarn Says Noel Gallagher Is "Like A Comrade"

Taken from an interview from the Rolling Stone with Damon Albarn.

How did it compare with the cocaine-themed 50th birthday party you attended for your friend Noel Gallagher last year?

Oh, mine was pathetic compared with his! His was spectacular. No comparison.

You and Noel were archrivals in the U.K. music scene in the Nineties, when you were leading Blur and he Oasis. How does that friendship work today?

He’s like a comrade. It’s about that specific moment in time when you both get the carpet pulled from underneath you, and everything you’ve been abstractly dreaming about suddenly becomes a reality. I was 22, and I couldn’t walk down the street without everybody recognizing me. That’s an exhilarating but terrifying moment, and we went through it together.
