Noel Gallagher has poken to Radio X about returning to Heaton Park in Manchester for the first time since he played there with Oasis in 2009.
Speaking to Radio X's Johnny Vaughan about the venue he said: "I haven’t played there since we had a rather chaotic night there in 2009 with Oasis, when Liam offered all the crowd their money back! It was the first night of three nights and we’d been looking forward to it the whole tour, and then we got there and after the first song the generators packed up - twice."
He continued: "The promoter said, if it goes off again, we’ll offer the crowd their money back. I said, Steady on!
"I think Liam misheard it, and said said right, they’re getting their money back - before we’d even plugged back in, he’d said this is a free gig, you can all have your money back!
"And of course, the generator never went off. I was standing there, glaring at him, thinking ‘I know you’re an idiot - we all know that - but do you have to be such a fucking idiot."

Noel Gallagher On Liam Offering Fans A Refund When Oasis Played At Heaton Park In 2009
Noel Gallagher has poken to Radio X about returning to Heaton Park in Manchester for the first time since he played there with Oasis in 2009.
Speaking to Radio X's Johnny Vaughan about the venue he said: "I haven’t played there since we had a rather chaotic night there in 2009 with Oasis, when Liam offered all the crowd their money back! On June 30, 2015, we played at the Zenith in Pans. We'd just headlined Hyde Park and Glastonbury and, for the first time that year, I felt like I was back. That night in Paris felt fabulous but it was hotter than a blacksmiths forge, it must have been more than a hundred degrees Fahrenheit outside but inside the Zenith there were SIX thousand people. That's six thousand one-bar electric heaters. The gig was great, really fluid, but when I came offstage I was completely drained.
I remember Liam Gallagher came backstage to say hello afterward. I love Liam. He's one of the last few bastions of old-school rock. He'd be the last one in the trenches with you, always, and he'd carry you out. That night, in that boiling heat, he was still wearing his parka. Ridiculous - but it was great to see him.
