Weezer Guitarist Brian Bell and front man Rivers Cuomo recalled an encounter with Liam Gallagher at a Japanese restaurant in Tokyo in a recent interview with Q104.3 New York's Out of the Box with Jonathan Clarke.
"The first time we were in London, we go to this rehearsal space and we passed Oasis in the hallway," Bell said. "We're like, 'Oh my god.' And Liam just goes, 'Buddy Holly! Top tune!' And we've talked about it ever since."
"Another great moment with Liam was when he stiffed Pat [Wilson, drummer] in Tokyo for this $400 breakfast. By sitting at another table in the restaurant, and they all looked at us and gave us this wave. We waved back. And what they said [to the waiter] was, 'Those guys are gonna take care of the bill.' And so we just waved."
