On April 27th 1996 Oasis played the first of two nights at Maine Road in Manchester support came from the Manic Street Preachers and Ocean Colour Scene.

Ever wondered why Bonehead wasn't on the tickets for Oasis' concerts at Maine Road in April 1996, he point blank refused to be in them as he is a Manchester United fan.

Brian Cannon had the idea to have images on the big screen of John Lennon, Sid Vicious and more during 'Live Forever' at Oasis' Maine Road concerts.

He told the NME “Even Liam didn’t know it was going to happen, that’s why he looks amazed when he turns round and sees Lennon.”

Fifty one trucks were used to deliver the equipment to stage Oasis' concerts at Maine Road in April 1996.

A giant shipyard crane was used to safely carry it over the football pitch as the club had a game against Liverpool the following weekend.

On April 22nd 1995 Oasis played at the Sheffield Arena, at the time it was the biggest gig the band had ever staged.

The concert is often overlooked for some of the other big concerts the band played.

They had moved on from the sweaty little venues I first saw them in and were now selling out arenas.

A year later they would be selling out stadiums.

It would be the last concert Tony McCarroll would play with the band, have a listen to the bootleg in the link below.

On April 22nd 2000 Oasis played at the Murat Center in Indianapolis.

Noel Gallagher wrote 'Don't Look Back In Anger' on April 20th 1995.

(from Uncut magazine August 2007): "We were in Paris playing with the Verve, and I had the chords for that song and started writing it. We were due to play two days later. Our first-ever big arena gig, it's called Sheffield Arena now. At the sound check, I was strumming away on the acoustic guitar, and our kid (Liam) said, 'What's that you're singin'?' I wasn't singing anyway, I was just making it up. And our kid said, 'Are you singing 'So Sally can wait'?' And I was like – that's genius! So I started singing, 'So Sally can wait.' I remember going back to the dressing room and writing it out. It all came really quickly after that"
