Q&A With Andy Bell

Ride's "This Is Not A Safe Place" is so nice, they released it twice. The album, the British quartet's second since reforming in 2014, initially came out last year and has now received a stunning remix/reimagining treatment courtesy of Pêtr Aleksänder: Tom Hobden (Noah And The Whale) and producer Eliot James (Two Door Cinema Club, Kaiser Chiefs). "Clouds In The Mirror" (Wichita) is further proof the music that Ride—Andy Bell, Mark Gardener, Laurence Colbert and Steve Queralt—is creating now is just as vital as the landmark recordings these Oxford shoegazers made three decades ago.

Dizzee Rascal Has Asked Noel Gallagher To Feature On One Of His Songs On His New Album

Dizzee Rascal has asked Noel Gallagher if he would like to be a guest on a track on his new album.

Appearing on 'Later ... with Jools Holland' he told the host: "I hit up Noel 'cause over the years I've always hit him up for something, whether advice or whatever.

"I thought, 'It's Noel Gallagher, why don't I get him on a hook, or do a song with him.'

"It would be good to have Noel Gallagher on a hook.

"Man, if we could make that work, that'd be sick."

In an interview with my website in 2009 I asked Noel "Dizzee Rascal has said he would like to collaborate with you on a track, would you ever consider working with him?"

He replied "Maybe. I don’t really give much thought to collaborations, saying that, Dizzee seems like a cool-kat to me and I did like that tune ‘Fix Up, Look Sharp’, so you never know, eh?"

Tune into 'Later ... with Jools Holland' from 10pm on Friday (22.05.20) on BBC Two.
