Noel Gallagher On Him And Liam Singing Christmas Carols To Alex Higgins
Noel Gallagher has told the Matt Morgan Podcast that he and his brother Liam used to sing Christmas carols to Alex Higgins as children because the snooker legend would always give them money.
He said: “Alex Higgins used to live in Burnage. He had this house that had triangular windows in, I’m not sure whether he bought the house because it had triangular windows or if he put them in. We used to go to his house singing Christmas carols because he was always pissed and he’d always give you money.”
Years later Higgins would be invited to Oasis' concerts.
“I was friends with Alex Higgins before he died. Years later he used to come to Oasis gigs, he was far out.”
He also spoke about another snooker player Ronnie O’Sullivan and said he is far out.
“I know Ronnie, I have hung out with Ronnie and he’s a funny fucker. I’ve rarely played snooker, I don’t go to snooker tournaments, I would like to go and see Ronnie play though. He’s fucking far out, he’s the real deal.
