Alan McGee On Oasis' 'Definitely Maybe'

Albums don't come much more classic than Oasis' 1994 debut album 'Definitely Maybe' and that's the record being discussed on this episode of the XS Long Player.

To talk about the creation of this classic album and early days of the band, Jim spoke to the boss of Creation Records Alan McGee... the man who spotted Oasis in the early 90s playing King Tuts in Glasgow and offered them a record deal.

On this episode Alan talks about working with the Gallagher Brothers, Sacking producers and why it almost DIDN'T happen for the band.

On December 7th 1997 Oasis played at the Scottish Exhibition And Conference Centre in Glasgow, Scotland.

They left the stage and didn't return after 'Wonderwall' due to bottles being thrown at them.

They played 'Whatever', 'Sad Song' and 'I Am The Walrus'.

On December 5th 1997 Oasis played the third of three nights at The Point in Dublin, Ireland.

Liam Gallagher missed this and the previous night after being diagnosed with a throat infection.

The festival takes place in North Byron Parklands in Yelgun, New South Wales.
