Oasis' '(What's The Story) Morning Glory?' was released on October 2nd 1995.

The Daily Mirror reported the day after release that central London HMV stores were selling copies of the album at a rate of two per minute.

On February 16th 2010, Oasis' album '(What's The Story) Morning Glory?' won the award for the best album of the past 30 years at the Brit Awards ceremony at Earl's Court in London.

Oasis' (What's The Story) Morning Glory? was easily the biggest selling album in the UK in the 1990s. It was comfortably ahead of Simply Red 'Stars 'and The Spice Girls 'Spice.

At the end of the first week of sales, the album had sold a record-breaking 347,000 copies, making it (at the time) the second-fastest-selling album in British history, behind Michael Jackson's Bad.

It entered the UK charts at number 1, it stayed around the top three for the rest of the year before a 6-week stay at the top in mid January, followed by a further three weeks at number 1 in March.

In total, the album didn't leave the top three for an astonishing seven months

On October 2nd 1995 Oasis played at the Empress Ballroom in Blackpool, England.

LIFEJACKET Meets Noel Gallagher | It’s Like Being Asked To Write A B-Side For The Beatles

Did Oasis talk about what they were going to wear? Where did he shop in the early days? Which get-up left the Oldham Athletic fans speechless, and which jacket would he rush to save in an emergency?

In this, the first ever LIFEJACKET conversation Noel Gallagher talks to Fenners about his love of casual culture. The Oasis star and Manchester City fan charts his sartorial upbringing in Manchester, citing musical and fashion influences mirrored on the terraces at Maine Road and around the country. Noel talks of his love for Stone Island, C.P. Company, as well as the sportswear brands of the 1980’s. Amidst rumours of a run of Knebworth gigs in 2026, Fenners reunites the song writing genius with a Boss piece of Knebworth history, and Noel explains how it felt when legendary adidas SPZL curator Gary Aspden invited him to help create his own bespoke Adidas trainer, likening it to ‘Paul McCartney asking you to write a B-side for The Beatles’.
