Speaking on Mexican radio station Sopitas, the Blur frontman thanked the Gallagher brothers for keeping the Britpop spirit alive:
"Oasis have done a very good job of making Britpop feel like it’s the biggest thing on Earth… They just hold on to that thing, but they do it very well."
Albarn even went as far as to admit defeat in their long-running rivalry:
"They are the winners. They take first place. In the face of such overwhelming evidence, I am happy to accept and concede defeat. It’s their summer and God bless them. I hope everyone has a wonderful time but I’m going to be in a very, very different place."
The tour continues this weekend with two huge nights at Tokyo Dome, before heading to Australia and South America, wrapping up on November 23rd at Estádio do Morumbi in São Paulo, Brazil.

Damon Albarn has once again shown major respect to his former Britpop rivals, Oasis, whose world tour has been selling out arenas across the globe since kicking off in Cardiff back in July including the biggest shows of their career in the U.S.
