An autographed Takamine FP460SC acoustic guitar used and owned by Noel Gallagher during his time with Oasis. Takamine guitars were among Gallagher's preferred acoustic instruments throughout the 1990s, when Oasis rose to global prominence. This example is one of two identical Takamine guitars he used during the band's legendary MTV Unplugged performance at London's Royal Festival Hall on 23 August 1996. Using two identical guitars allowed Gallagher to switch seamlessly between alternate tunings and songs requiring a capo, including the band's classic "Wonderwall".

Oasis' MTV Unplugged performance remains one of the defining moments of the Britpop era. Moments before the show, Liam Gallagher withdrew, citing a sore throat, leaving Noel to unexpectedly perform lead vocals throughout the critically acclaimed set while Liam watched from the balcony, heckling the band. The stripped-back performance has since become one of the most celebrated acoustic concerts in rock history.

Beyond MTV Unplugged, the guitar was used extensively by Gallagher between 1995 and 1999, including throughout the (What's the Story) Morning Glory? and Be Here Now tours and in the recording studio. For the past five years (until June 2026), this guitar was displayed as part of the MTV Turns Forty: I Still Want My MTV exhibition at the Grammy Museum in Mississippi.

Made in Japan in August 1995, the guitar (serial number "95081181") features a solid spruce top with a natural finish, rosewood back and sides, a mahogany neck, and a black AccurAcoustic EQ preamp. Prior to the MTV Unplugged performance, it was fitted with a Mimesis pickup, while retaining its original pickup inside the sound hole. Gallagher ran separate leads from both pickups, with the two cables clearly visible during many performances. The body is autographed by Gallagher in black ink and inscribed, "Peace, love + Bananas!! Much Love".

The guitar is housed in its original hard case, which bears the famous Oasis logo stencilled in white by Gallagher's guitar technician Jason Rhodes. Both the guitar and case display expected signs of touring use, including wear around the sound hole, light surface scratches, minor damage near the preamp, and scuffing to the case exterior. The lot is accompanied by a signed letter of authenticity from Rhodes and a letter from the Grammy Museum dated "21 December 2021". Dimensions (guitar): 105.5 cm x 40 cm x 11 cm (41.5" x 15.75" x 4.25"); (case): 111 cm x 45 cm x 16 cm (43.75" x 17.75" x 6.25")
