Q Awards 2012 Voting Now Open

On Monday, October 22nd Q ' the UK's leading monthly music magazine ' will once again honour the best music of the last 12 months at one of the most prestigious and star-studded dates on the music calendar, The Q Awards 2012.

Who gets to attend and join the ranks of last year's winners U2, Coldplay, Adele, Noel Gallagher, Gary Barlow, Jessie J, Tinie Tempah, Ed Sheeran, Biffy Clyro and Lana Del Ray in the hallowed Q hall of fame is down to the Great British public.

Everyone who votes online will be entered into a competition to win a pair of tickets to attend the event. Entrants must be over 18.

Sky Arts returns as the broadcast partner of the Isle of Wight Festival. This year Sky will increase its commitment to the festival, broadcasting live for 6 hours a day offering Sky customers a weekend packed full of music across Sky Arts 1, Sky 3D and Sky Go, with a best-of-the fest round-up show on Sky 1.

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds will play at the festival on June 24th 2012.

This year the festival will be presented by a team of established and familiar music experts and enthusiasts including; Zoe Ball, Jo Whiley, Shaun Keaveny, Tom Ravenscroft, AJ Odudu and Mathew Horne. The team will bring viewers coverage from the main stages as well as interviews backstage and all the gossip from the VIP enclosure.

Sky Arts 1 will be at the heart of the music action, taking in the biggest acts, headlines and longer sets from the Main Stage and Big Top together with the choice to view extra acts and backstage interviews from Sky’s onsite studio via the interactive service. Acts featured at the festival include; Elbow, Example, Tom Petty, Noah & The Whale, Pearl Jam, Biffy Clyro, Tinie Tempah, Jessie J, Labrinth, Madness, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, The Vaccines and Band of Skulls.

Broadcasting 6 hours a day in 3D on the Sky 3D channel will make this the longest ever non-Sport outside broadcast ever shown on the channel and will bring viewers closer than ever before to the real-life festival experience.

Sky's coverage of the Isle of Wight festival will continue their commitment to innovation and development of their multi-platforms. For the first time, viewers will be able to submit their comments about the live performances and see them featured in-show via an on-screen social media ticker. Two extra feeds will be produced for the red button including a continuously changing 30-minute loop bringing viewers all the best performances from elsewhere on the festival stages.

Sky's partnership with Zeebox will continue with a unique companion second-screen experience where users will be able to instantly download tracks from the performers at the festival as well as enjoy exclusive acoustic performances from some of the weekend's most exciting acts.

Biffy Clyro Wish They Were More Outspoken Like Liam Gallagher

.....Biffy Clyro, the globe-trotting band have become Scotland’s hottest rock band in recent years, but James isn’t getting cocky about the success.

“Er, pass,” James answered when asked if they are Scotland’s top rock export. “It’s awkward to talk about. It’s a nice thing to hear, but it’s not something we think about or ever dreamed about really. I wish we were more outspoken like Liam Gallagher. I love his patter.

“He is actually a really nice guy. We bumped into Liam and Noel when we were in Los Angeles a few years back. We were in the same studio and went to see The Duke Spirit.

“Alan McGee was there and a big bunch of us together. We all went down to a reggae bar.
“Liam knew our songs and sang three of them then Noel got on stage and started singing. They were all pretty drunk at the time.”

He added: “Playing in places that are unknown always makes for a different experience. Abroad, the concerts are more like organised chaos than we are used to here.

Beady Eye, Biffy Clyro, Editors & More For Teenage Cancer Trust Shows

Beady Eye are proud to announce they will be headlining this year's Teenage Cancer Trust on Friday 25th March at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

Teenage Cancer Trust is a long established charity set up to help young people fight cancer. You can read more about the charity and make donations at their website HERE.

The band have been keen supporters of Teenage Cancer Trust through the years with Liam, Gem and Andy having performed at the event in 2002 with Oasis and both Liam and Gem making several appearances between them through the past decade of gigs.

Despite still not having played live or released their debut album Beady Eye are up for best new band.
