Noel Gallagher Thought His New Album 'Who Bulit The Moon?' Would End Up Getting Scrapped

Noel Gallagher has said he thought that his new High Flying Birds album with producer David Holmes would never see the light of day, and thought it would end up being scrapped like the planned album with Amorphous Androgynous or Oasis’s abandoned sessions with Death In Vegas.

Speaking to the the current issue of Q he said he only told producer David Holmes this much later.

He said “He was flabbergasted. He said that he never doubted from the first night that the record was going to be the way it was. That’s a proper producer. If you’d asked me that night if I thought I was capable of doing it, I’d have said no. I’ve got to take my hat off to David because he’s seen something in me that probably wasn’t even there.”

'Who Built The Moon? is released on November 24th.

Gem Archer On His Life, Oasis, Beady Eye, Liam, Noel, Death In Vegas, Music And More

In his first interview in five years, the elegant and gifted guitarist/songwriter Gem Archer is this episode’s guest on The StageLeft Podcast.

In an open, honest, and at times hilarious interview, Gem goes into great detail about his own career, his view of the music industry, and what it was really like when the Oasis tsunami finally broke.

Gem talks about his early influences and details the shift in the creative process from singer in his own to right to writing songs to be sung by Liam Gallagher. He also gives advice to young guitarists, and tells us what the future holds.

He talks candidly about the fainting episode that resulted in a fractured skull, the emotions of playing Don’t Look Back in Anger at the Manchester Arena, and how he helped Liam develop his song writing

He gives us the low down on the NiN rumour, the Death in Vegas sessions, and tells us the common personality traits of those who have made it against those who have not.

“Don’t give up.”

We hear the often-asked question on how to decide which guitars to take on tour, and a rather frank reply on dealing with pressure on stage:

“…If you’re thinking on stage you’re fucked…Look… within reason nothing matters, everybody fucks up…”

We hear about the rock ‘n’ roll voyeurism that is seeing U2’s dressing room, and the in ears vs wedges debate rears its head again.

“…Noels got super ears man, he prides himself on that… he has some supernatural shit going on…”

In this fascinating interview, recorded the day before he flies off to Mexico, we hear also discuss trapdoor chords, knee chords, and hitting Trent Raznor with ping pong balls.

The Enemy's Andy Hopkins Can't Wait For Liam Gallagher's Solo Album

The Enemy's Andy Hopkins can't wait for Liam Gallagher's solo album and for the former Oasis frontman to prove to everyone he is one of the "greatest rock 'n' roll" singers of all time.
The bassist and his bandmates - frontman Tom Clarke and drummer Liam Watts - supported Liam and his brother Noel Gallagher on tour on numerous occasions and became friends with the now warring-siblings.

Andy was disappointed to see the end of Oasis in 2009 and was also sad to see Liam's next band Beady Eye dissolve in 2014.

The outspoken hellraiser has now signed a deal with Warner Bros Records UK to release his first solo LP next year and Andy is excited to hear the 'D'You Know What I Mean?' hitmaker's songs and show the world he isn't stuck in Noel's shadow.

Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, the musician said: "I'll be glad to see Liam put his name in lights. Noel may have written the songs in Oasis but Liam was the town crier and in that band he absolutely crushed it. Liam and Noel defined a generation and Liam has one of the best rock 'n' roll voices of all time, he's up there with the greatest. He's had enough time out and I'm sure he's worked out who his mates are.

"He has so much to offer, remember that track he did with Death In Vegas a few years back, 'Scorpio Rising', that was unbelievable. What I don't want is Liam to become a pastiche of himself and I'm sure he won't because he's too intelligent for that. I want to go out there and get back on stage and show everyone that he is the boss, because he is, Liam is an amazing talent. Noel has done it as a solo artist, don't tell me Liam can't. His voice is so good and he should show people how good he is. We got to know him and he's a top bloke and a real gentleman. Liam is one of the few people who I've met in the music business who has a glow, he has a presence. When he walks in a room you know he's there, he's proper mate."

Noel Gallagher On The Lost Oasis Album With Death In Vegas

Noel Gallagher has been speaking about Oasis' recording session they did with Death In Vegas.

He told the current issue of the NME "We did it before we went to do 'Don't Believe The Truth', and much like the Amorphous project, it just didnt work out. Me and Liam both sang. It was a bit of a weird time, but we had a great time doing it. Liam had done 'Scorpio Rising' thing with them and said we should use them, and I was like 'yeah, f*ck it, let's do it'. But it never came out."Source: www.nme.com

Glasgow's Medicine Men are already causing quite a stir having played only a handle of shows in their native Scotland, including a much talked about slot at this year's 'T in the Park' which saw the band pull a huge crowd for only their 5th ever gig.

Drawing excited comparisons with bands such as LCD Soundsystem, Tame Impala, The Chemical Brothers and Death In Vegas, the band mix soaring synths with kinetic breakbeats and bruising basslines, creating a glorious fusion of styles from sublime psychedelic rock to pumping dance music and everything in between.

Soulful, funky and oozing talent the band are set to cause a stir with this, their debut release, and their first show south of the border.
