Liam Gallagher Slates Kanye West In New Interview

Liam Gallagher has slated Kanye West in a new interview.

Gallagher has spoken to various outlets over the past few weeks ahead of new Oasis documentary Supersonic and his forthcoming solo album.

Speaking to The Sunday Times, Gallagher weighed in on Kanye, saying that he was "not having" the star and his brand of "designer rap".

It's not the first time that Gallagher has criticised West. Last year Gallagher hit out at West's Brit Awards performance, describing it as "utter shit".

He went on to explain why the US never "got" his Britpop band: "I knew Americans weren’t going to get us. They want razzamatazz. Five lads stood there, staring you out? It’s going to be intimidating for them, the poor souls. But in England, I was the fucking man, and still do believe I am today. The thought of someone else being the main frontman in England? My hair would’ve gone grey."

Elsewhere in the Sunday Times interview, Liam called out today's young bands for failing to behave like proper rock stars. Gallagher shared his view that "any band worth their salt is not just music".

Asked whether he really means this, Gallagher said: "Without a doubt. If it's all about music, then it's Coldplay. The most rock’n’roll thing Chris Martin did was wear a leather jacket. I thought, 'Go on, lad. That's a start.'"

Encouraging today's musicians to cause more mischief, Gallagher said: "If I was a 20-year-old in a band and somebody stuck [an iPhone] in my face, I’d stick it up their arse, or mine. There is no excuse for young bands to act like grown men. When you're older and have kids, cool it out a bit, but I get up to more mischief in my butcher’s than [they] do on their fucking tours. Maybe it's just where we're from."

He added: "I guess it goes back to the working-class thing. The shit-kickers aren’t breaking through. A lot of music these days is by middle-class kids."

Speaking in another interview to promote Supersonic, Gallagher criticised brother Noel for dressing like Gary Barlow.

This week saw bookmakers slash the odds of Oasis reforming to tour in 2017, while former guitarist Bonehead said he'd 'be there like a shot' if a reunion seemed likely.

Noel Gallagher On Gary Barlow And Gary Neville

Noel Gallagher has joked that he shunned his son after he suggested he get his hair cut like Gary Barlow

Gallagher revealed his thoughts on the Take That singer in a new interview with XFM Manchester. Despite a long standing feud between Take That's Robbie Williams and Oasis, Noel conceded that Barlow is "alright".

"Gary's alright, my wife likes Gary Barlow," he said. "My son actually said to me once, 'You should get your hair cut like Gary Barlow'… I've shunned him since, he now lives in the shed!"

Gallagher also offered his opinion on another famous Mancunian, former Manchester United player Gary Neville. He said: "I'm not gonna say anything now that I'd not say to his face. When he played for United I fucking loathed him, and I wished bad things upon him! But since I've met him, and since he's been a pundit on Sky, I think he's brilliant. I think he's one of the best of all time.

"I wish City would have had a player like him, someone that had grown up supporting the club and come through and played for England and all that. But he's a good lad, he's the pantomime villain at City. And he's a massive Oasis fan so… He's getting cooler by the word here isn't he?"

Gallagher made a triumphant return to Manchester earlier this week as part of his UK arena tour. He was joined onstage at Manchester Arena by Johnny Marr and the pair performed 'Ballad Of The Mighty I' together during the encore. The single features on Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds' second album, the recently released 'Chasing Yesterday'. Marr plays guitar on the album version, but this was the first time the pair performed the track together in public. Gallagher has called it one of his best songs, thanks to Marr's contribution.

Gallagher's tour has seem him play a number of Oasis songs, including 'Fade Away', 'Champagne Supernova', 'Digsy's Dinner', 'Don't Look Back In Anger' and 'The Masterplan'.

Robbie Williams Mocks Beady Eye’s Recent Split

Robbie Williams has compared his relationship with Take That to that of Oasis and Beady Eye.

Williams released his new album 'Under The Radar Volume I' on Monday (December 1) - the same day as his former band Take That released their latest LP 'III'.

Speaking about the situation, Take That's Gary Barlow had previously compared the situation to Blur and Oasis' infamous 1995 chart battle, where the former’s 'Country House' and the latter's 'Roll With It' went head to head for the Number One spot.

Now, Williams has taken to Twitter to say that the battle is more akin to that of Oasis and Beady Eye – making a dig at the latter's recent split in the process.

Williams wrote, "Gaz - it's more like Oasis vs Beady Eye, except at the end of this week WE'LL all still have a career!"

Williams and the Gallagher brothers have a history of verbal spats, since Noel Gallagher famously called the pop star "That fat dancer from Take That" in the 90s.

More recently, Liam also hit out at Williams, labeling him a "fat fucking idiot" after Beady Eye played a significantly smaller venue in the same town as the singer on the same night.

Beady Eye announced their split in October following two studio LPs.

Gary Barlow: Take That And Robbie Williams Chart Battle Is Like Blur And Oasis

Gary Barlow has joked Take That's current chart battle with Robbie Williams is similar to the feud between Britpop bands Oasis and Blur.

The 43-year-old singer-songwriter has spoken out following the news his band Take That's first album since the departure of both Jason Orange and previously Robbie, 'III', will go up against their bandmates surprise new record 'Under the Radar'.

Referring to the famous Britpop battle between Damon Albarn's Blur and Liam and Noel Gallagher's Oasis, Gary said: ''It's like Blur versus Oasis all over again.''

However, the former 'X Factor' judge revealed Robbie - who first left Take That in 1995 before rejoining in 2010 and quitting again in 2012 - had told him and his remaining bandmates Mark Owen and Howard Donald about his new album, but failed to mention it would be released on the same day as theirs.

Gary told The Sun newspaper: ''I only found out about that on Sunday (30.11.14).

''It's funny, because we have obviously spent a lot of time in the studio with Rob.

''About two years ago he said, 'I've got all these songs and I don't know what to do with them so I'm going to put them on an album one day'.

''So it's not a surprise he's doing it, but it is a surprise it's out this week.

''He played us most of them and there are some cracking songs because whatever Rob writes is good.''

Meanwhile, the 'These Days' hitmaker claims both Robbie and Jason will be returning to the band in the future.

He said: ''Take That is five people. Exactly when they come back is up to them. That will keep it interesting.''

Noel Gallagher Has Been Offered £2m To Judge The X Factor

X Factor bosses have approached Noel Gallagher for the second time with a “name your price” offer to join the judging panel.

The former Oasis guitarist, 45, has been on Simon Cowell’s wish list for the hit ITV talent show for years.

And in the past fortnight Noel’s management company Ignition received a fresh megabucks offer — asking him to name a price around the £2million mark.

A source said last night: “Simon is determined to get Noel on board. He sees him as his natural replacement as the real alpha male on the panel.

“He thinks Noel would be ideal, with his music knowledge, straight-talking and rapier wit.”

The last time Simon, 53, made a seven-figure offer to the award-winning rock star he was knocked back.

The married dad-of-three was about to launch his critically acclaimed solo project, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.

He has just finished touring and is now planning to make “going to the dry-cleaners last a day”.

The source added: “Noel’s daughter Anais is a huge fan of One Direction and X Factor, so she’ll be nagging him to say yes.”

Noel was first approached by Simon in 2011. The rock star told him he wouldn’t like to say lines like, “You know I can only take three into the final, and this is the toughest decision I’ve ever had to make. I left Oasis, but that was nothing compared to this”.

Take That star Gary Barlow is expected to return with Nicole Scherzinger. Sharon Osbourne is also in talks with bosses undecided on Louis Walsh.

Robbie Williams: "I've Never Mended Rift With Oasis' Noel And Liam Gallagher"

The 'Candy' singer admits he has still not spoken with the 'Wonderwall' brothers after falling out in the mid-1990s.

Robbie Williams has admitted that he has never resolved the rift he had with the Oasis brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher.

The Take That star, who released his new single 'Candy' on Sunday (28th October), famously became friends with the Britpop stars in the mid-1990s, before both parties fell out with each other.

During an interview with Shortlist , Robbie suggested that he and the brothers were still adversaries, although he did admit that their wives had contacted each other.

"Not really, no," he replied when asked if they were on speaking terms. "But we rented a place near Noel's and his wife sent us a nice bunch of flowers. I bet she went to a nice school to do a nice thing like that. It was surprising."

Robbie's new album 'Take The Crown' is released next month.

The star's ninth studio album features production from his Take That band mate Gary Barlow.

Gary Barlow: 'I Can't See Noel Gallagher On The X Factor'

Gary Barlow has said that he could not see Noel Gallagher becoming a judge on The X Factor.

The ex-Oasis songwriter recently confirmed that he had been approached by Simon Cowell to fill the "alpha male" head judge role on the show.

Gallagher admitted that his daughter has not forgiven him for turning down the position after he told Cowell that "he didn't really want me on there".

Asked about the approach, Cowell's eventual replacement Barlow told The Big Issue: "I don't know about [Noel being a good judge]... It's a big commitment.

"If you're going to get involved with something like this you've got to be prepared to give a lot of time and effort to it… I can't see him doing it somehow."

Of suggestions by some, including Gallagher, that the 16-year-olds on the show are too young, Barlow countered: "It's a massive opportunity. I think you've got to want it this bad. In fact, my criticism is, some of them should want it more than they do.

"The pop world is a bit like fashion. It moves very quickly. What happens with some people is, they earn a bit of money and they think, 'I'm all right now, and I can't be arsed with all the hard work anymore'."

Regarding the media attention for The X Factor, Barlow said: "The press stuff is just... actually quite funny. It's so wrong and so untrue it becomes funny. It's a bit of a circus, the whole thing.

"It's kind of part and parcel of the whole show so you learn to live with it. I don't read newspapers but you hear the whispers and you think, 'Jesus Christ, what is happening... what is happening here?' The truth is it's probably keeping a lot of the papers going."

The Big Issue is sold by homeless and vulnerably housed vendors for £2. £1 of the cover price goes directly to the vendor.

The full Gary Barlow interview features in this week's issue.

Noel Gallagher: X Factor 'No Good' Without Simon Cowell

X Factor fan Noel Gallagher declared that the show has been "no good" since the departure of Simon Cowell.

The former Oasis guitarist, who turned down a mentoring role on the programme, said it had worked better with the music supremo as head of the judging panel.

Asked what he thought of the latest series of X Factor, he replied: "No good without Simon Cowell in it."

Gallagher - whose debut solo album is top of the chart - was speaking on the red carpet as he arrived at the Q Awards. He was named Q Icon at the awards ceremony.

The musician's comments came as a decline in viewing figures coincided with a change in the line-up of judges, now headed up by Take That singer Gary Barlow.

Noel Gallagher: X Factor Is Great But 16 Is Too Young, Particularly For Girls

Noel Gallagher has described the X Factor as 'great' but criticised the show for allowing under 18s to compete, saying girls are particularly vulnerable to the pressures of fame.

The former Oasis star co-hosted the Absolute Radio Christian O'Connell Breakfast Show this morning, discussing various topics at length including his thoughts on the X Factor.

Noel has previously revealed that Simon Cowell had asked him to take up a role on the judging panel, but despite infuriating daughter Anais by turning down the offer Noel says he likes watching the show and think it's 'great'.

Saying people in the music business 'tend to take it way too seriously', Noel described the show as 'great television' but criticised last weekend's controversial big twist which saw Amelia Lily, Jonjo Kerr, James Michael and 2 Shoes sent home.
'I think that bit last week was a bit unnecessary because they must have known that they were going to have to vote somebody off,' Noel said.

'I found that quite… when you see the kids crying on there that’s quite difficult and all that.'

16-year-old Amelia Lily had burst into tears after being sent home by mentor Kelly Rowland, renewing the debate as to whether under 18s should be allowed to take part in the competition.

Discussing Amelia's exit, Noel said: 'When they say things like "Oh, you're great but you're too young", well don't put her through in the first place then, do you know what I mean?

'They shouldn't put a 16 year old on that show.'

The age limit for the show had already been called in to question during the judges' houses round, when 16-year-old Luke Lucas crumbled under the pressure of performing in front of Gary Barlow and Robbie Williams.

Gary later said '16 is just too young' to take part in the competition, although fellow judge Tulisa Contostavlos defended the age limit.

When asked by co-host Christian O'Connell if he felt the age limit should be raised, Noel said: 'Well I think it should be at least 18, because what would happen, conceivably, if the public voted a 16 year old into pop stardom? I mean, you know…'
'I'd feel offended, it took me till 27 to land this famous, you know what I mean, it's bang out of order.

'It's difficult enough to deal with… Particularly for a girl, do you know what I mean? I can't imagine being 16.'

Describing girls as 'more vulnerable' to the pressures of fame, Noel offered his own theory on why girl groups have failed to make much of an impact on the X Factor.

He said: 'Guys are ordinarily in groups or have come out of groups, and girls tend not to be in groups because they bitch a lot, you know.'

Despite joking that new judge Gary Barlow was 'just like some James Bond baddie', Noel said the Take That star was a 'good lad', but was less forthcoming with praise when discussing Louis Walsh.

'Louis Walsh, he's mad as a box of frogs isn't he, he really does… he lives in a parallel universe.

'You think to yourself "Do you get British TV in Ireland? Oh you do get it? You do know what's on the telly?" I mean, he's insane.'

Noel also revealed his anger when Louis Walsh had claimed that the Gallagher brothers would have 'loved' G4's cover of Oasis track Don't Look Back In Anger during the first series of the X Factor, saying: 'That's why they should bring it out in 3D, the X Factor, so you could literally lean into the television and just press on his throat a little bit.'

Noel Gallagher's Daughter Hasn't Forgiven Him For Turning Down The X Factor

Noel Gallagher has revealed he has no regrets about turning down the chance to be a judge on X Factor - but his daughter won't ever forgive him for it.

The ex-Oasis star said his daughter Anaïs was upset with him after he said no to X Factor guru Simon Cowell.

Cowell offered him the role after he left the UK version to work on the launch of the show in America.

Judging regulars Dannii Minogue and Cheryl Cole also departed leaving more vacant places on the panel alongside Louis Walsh.

Gallagher told The Sun: 'I told him he didn't really want me on there.'

'He insisted he did. I insisted harder that he didn't and he gave up asking. My 11-year-old daughter has never forgiven me.'

Instead, Gallagher has been busy launching his new solo project called Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds.

He will be playing a sold out three-date tour in October to promote his debut solo album, also called Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds.

Gallagher added: 'Money was never mentioned.'

His place on the panel was taken by Take That star Gary Barlow who joins newcomers Tulisa Contostavlos and Kelly Rowland.

The X Factor launches this Saturday, August 20 at 8pm on ITV1 and the boot camp stage of the competition is expected to begin airing in several weeks.

Noel Gallagher Responds To Robbie Williams Jibe

Robbie Williams should know better than to raise the ire of Noel Gallagher.

On Friday night at Wembley, Robbie said: "The Rolling Stones have done two nights here. Oasis did three - Take That are here for eight on the trot. Mick Jagger can lick Gary Barlow's face. Noel Gallagher can lick my a**e."

And not for the first time in their colourful past, his old nemesis Noel has responded with a jibe.

Referring to Robbie's revelation that he has the sex drive of a 100-year-old, Noel said: "Lick his big fat Bobby-Butlins a**e? Wow! The hormone replacements must be doing the trick, eh? I'd rather suck on his man boobs." Robbie told Esquire magazine he regularly injects testosterone to treat a diagnosed hormone imbalance.

It's like pulling your pants down and asking for your bottom to be spanked in public by an opportunist verbal sparring partner like Noel.

And he's wise to get it out of the way now. The recently married Manc has a big announcement this week about his solo career - which shouldn't be dominated by someone else's antics.

Robbie doesn't need the mud-slinging any more.

It's a waste of energy and - more importantly for his baby-hungry missus Ayda - a waste of that priceless testosterone.

Noel Gallagher To Announce Solo Plans This Wednesday

It has been quite a while since Robbie Williams and Oasis crossed swords.

But the Take That star gave his old sparring partner Noel Gallagher a big dig in the ribs on stage at Wembley last night.

He said: "The Rolling Stones played two nights at Wembley.

"Oasis played three. Take That - eight.

"Mick Jagger can lick Gary Barlows's face.

"And Noel Gallagher can lick my a***."

Noel is due to hold a press conference on Wednesday to announce all the details of his eagerly awaited solo career.

So that gives him five days to prepare a volley in response.

It's beginning to look like '98 all over again.
