Liam Gallagher Speaks About Twitter And His Relationship With Noel

The feud between the Gallaghers showed no sign of thawing after Liam had another rant about his brother on The Graham Norton Show.

The Oasis frontman is known for not mincing his words and tonight he stayed true to form.

The BBC talkshow proved the perfect opportunity for Liam to go off on one about Noel, modern rock’n’roll stars and Twitter.

Liam, a keen and controversial tweeter, says he’s still on there because he ‘likes winding people up.”

“Some of them are a bit out of order and I apologise for that,” the Oasis-frontman conceded.

“I like winding people up, yeah? Without a doubt, man.

“Without a doubt that’s what it’s all about. Everyone’s a bit square at the moment, aren’t they? Everyone’s a bit serious and serious, you know what I mean?

“I do like winding people up. And I can take it, I do like the wind up back. A lot of these rock’n’roll stars, they come in and they just take the cheque home. Imagine Keith Moon drummin’ his a**e off and going home.

“You need to boot a few things, you know what I mean.”

Asked by the BBC host if his war of words with Noel on Twitter was genuine, Liam fired back with both barrels.

“Oh yeah that’s well for real that,” he said.

“We don’t like each other, man. People think we’re waiting around for a few more naughts on the thing, but they’ve already offered us loads of money. Like millions and millions, but it’s not about the money is it, you know what I mean?”

But LG was big enough to bury the hatchet with fellow guest Idris Elba. They fell out after Liam threw the actor’s hat across a bar at a showbiz bash. The pair said they’d now made up.

“We’re good now,” added the Luther star.

Liam Gallagher On How He Fell-Out With Idris Elba

They revealed on the Graham Norton Show they have now buried the hatchet since they fell-out when Idris ruffled Liam's hair and the rocker replied by throwing the actor's hat.

One of the biggest feuds in showbiz has finally been settled – on The Graham Norton show of all places.

Oasis rocker Liam Gallagher and actor Idris Elba first fell out at the NME Awards in 2013, but have now buried the hatchet.

Luther star Idris explains the spat to Graham and his guests Kate Winslet and Chris Rock when they’re all on the show together tonight on BBC1.

He said: “Me and Liam have squared it away. We had a falling out. He threw my hat across the bar.”

Liam: “We only fell out for 10 minutes.”

Idris: “He threw my hat across the bar.”

But Liam interjected: “You started it mate by feeling my hair.”

Idris explained further: “I gave him a hug and he didn’t like that ‘cos he loves his hair. He took my hat off and threw it across the bar so we had a bit of a thing. We’re all good now.”

Liam agreed, adding: “Yep we are all good now.”

The falling out came after the awards ceremony, which was held at London's Troxy, at the Warner's afterparty in the plush Ivy Club.

Idris Elba Mocks Liam Gallagher

GQ has a big long cover story in their October issue and you should really read it because (a) he’s an interesting guy and the interview is refreshingly candid, and (b) it intersperses his life story with large sections about him DJing three parties in Ibiza in one night, the last of which didn’t even start until like 3 a.m., because of course the actor responsible for bringing both Stringer Bell and John Luther to life also DJs all-night parties in Ibiza on the regular. How’s your life going?

But I digress.

Elba also discusses his recent scuffle with Liam Gallagher at the NME Awards, and minces very few words in the process. We pick up the story in an Ibiza nightclub, mid-party:

And then he throws on “Wonderwall,” by Oasis, which is curious, because even though the mostly British crowd is howling the song back at him, Elba has been in the tabloids recently for an altercation with Liam Gallagher after this year’s NME Awards; the younger Gallagher brother removed Elba’s wool cap in an apparently disrespectful manner. Elba took issue; the two men got into it. So it seems suspicious, Elba playing Gallagher’s song, and the next day, when we meet up again, I ask him about it.

“Wonderwall” last night—were you taking a shot?

“No! F*ck that idiot. No.”

Basically, Elba says, he just gave Liam a hug and an affectionate rub on the head.

“Didn’t like that. Don’t touch his hair, apparently. F*ck off. Next time walk with a f*cking hairdresser, then.”

Laughter.

“Well, ‘I’m a popular rock singer, so I’m going to be mean and f*cking horrible to people just because they messed up my look.’ F*ck off. I played his song because his song’s a classic. I couldn’t—I don’t even know what his songs are about now or what band he’s in now. No one gives a f*ck, yeah? He was popular when he was in Oasis.”

Liam Gallagher Makes X Factor U-Turn

Liam Gallagher says he has had a change of heart after pledging to perform on The X Factor.

The Beady Eye singer says he would prefer to appear on ITV chat show Loose Women instead of the talent contest.

Liam - who had previously called the pop show "annoying" - revealed he had backtracked on a slot for the programme during an interview to be broadcast by Absolute Radio.

Asked whether he was planning to perform, he said: "We're not confirmed for it. No, no, no - we were just messing about. Try to give them some ratings." He went on: "We've changed our mind now. No, Loose Women it is instead."

Liam's brother and former Oasis bandmate Noel has previously been approached to be a judge on The X Factor but turned it down, and Liam has now said he has no interest in joining the panel.

"No, I don't fancy judging anyone," he said in the interview, recorded before an acoustic gig at Abbey Road Studios which is being broadcast on Thursday.

Liam also talked about a confrontation with actor Idris Elba after The Wire star ruffled his hair at the NME Awards earlier this year.

"He messed my hair up, so I pulled his hat off and booted it across the room and that's it."

He went on: "I didn't know who he was. I still don't know who he is - you don't touch a man's haircut man. Especially if you've got a red bobbly hat on."

The Beady Eye gig is being broadcast at 9pm on Thursday during the Pete Donaldson show on Absolute Radio.

Liam Gallagher Details Fight With Idris Elba At NME Awards

Only Liam Gallagher and his barber are allowed near his hair – anyone else and it’s going to end badly.

The Beady Eye frontman says that’s what caused the bust-up with Idris Elba at this year’s NME awards.

Talking about it for the first time, Liam said: “I didn’t steal Idris’s hat, or grab it.

“I don’t go grabbing anyone. He messed my f***ing hair up, so I pulled his hat off and booted it across the room, and that’s it.”

When asked if he was intimidated by Idris’s considerable bulk, Liam added: “I don’t give a f***. I didn’t know who he was.

“I still don’t know who he is and I don’t give a f*** who he is.

“You don’t touch a man’s haircut, man, especially if you’ve got a red bobbly hat on. So let’s get that one straight. He f***ed my hair up — so the hat got it.”

Liam added that Idris’s headgear reminded him of the daft woolly hat-wearing ITV soap character Benny Hawkins and said: “It’s not f***ing Crossroads, is it?”

Liam can’t really talk about other people’s clobber when he wears leopard-print loafers.

He was asked about the scrap by Absolute Radio before performing tracks from Beady Eye’s new album B.E. at London’s Abbey Road studios on Monday. The band then performed their cover of The Beatles’ Cry Baby Cry.

Their next gig is an in-store show at London’s Rough Trade East shop on Monday to launch the album.

You can hear the gig on Pete Donaldson's Absolute evening show on Thursday from 9pm.

Embarrassing Dad Liam Gallagher

Liam Gallagher's kids are embarrassed by him.

The Beady Eye frontman - who has sons Lennon, 13, with first wife Patsy Kensit, and Gene, 11, by second spouse Nicole Appleton - thinks he is a cool dad, but admits the boys now ''sneak off'' so they don't have to be seen in his company, and he has now realised even their friends aren't impressed by his rock star status.

He said: ''It's got to the stage where my kids sneak off and go, 'You're not walking with me man.' I'm like, 'Hey, I'm a f***ing cool dad!' 'No you're not.' 'I f***ing am. All your mates think I'm cool anyway...' 'They think you're a bit of a d**k actually' It seems I've got a lot of work to do.''

Liam recently got into an altercation with 'The Wire' actor Idris Elba, and he claims he will still confront people for the sake of his sons.

He explained to Q magazine: ''I'm a bit more chilled but I wouldn't say I've changed drastically. I was out the other week, off me f***ing kecks and I didn't think, 'Oh I better not have this fight with this big fella here because I've got my kid at home.' I was like, 'F***ing hit him for your kid. This guy's taking the p**s out of his dad!' ''

Idris Elba Details Run-In With Liam Gallagher At Nme Awards

Actor Idris Elba has admitted that his confrontation with Liam Gallagher at last month's NME Awards was caused by a row over a hat.

The pair made headlines after they reportedly clashed at an after party at The Ivy in London in February (February 27), with eye-witnesses claiming that they had squabbled because Gallagher made fun of Elba's bobble hat.

Now, in an interview with the Guardian, Elba - star of TV shows such as The Wire and Luther - has confirmed that his choice of headgear was the reason for the incident. Asked if they'd had a fight, he said: "Not really. We just had a little exchange of words."

Then, when asked if his bobble hat had been at the centre of the row, he replied: MY hat, not a bobble hat. It got blown out of proportion, but we kept our hats on, so to speak. It was a good hat, man. I guess he just took against it. He must have thought it looked silly, because he tried to grab it.

Gallagher's band Beady Eye are set to release their second album this year, and the frontman has told NME to expect the record Oasis should have made after '(What's The Story) Morning Glory?'.

He said: "I'm not saying it's better than 'Be Here Now' or it's going to be this or that - I love 'Be Here Now', I won't have a bad word said about it but when you're selling 20 million records, you've got people there going, 'Oh let's just chuck out that formula again'. So I'm a bit disappointed we didn't ever do it. But this fucking record: we've booted the door off the hinges and steamed right in there, into this other world."

Liam Gallagher And Idris Elba 'Clash Over Bobble Hat'

Liam Gallagher is said to have clashed with actor Idris Elba at an after party following the NME Awards on Wednesday (February 27).

According to The Sun, the Beady Eye frontman picked a fight with Elba while attending a bash at London's Ivy Club - poking fun at the Wire star's bobble hat.

An onlooker told the tabloid: "Liam was in full rock'n'roll swagger mode. He bowled up to the party after midnight and made his presence felt pretty quickly.

"He had a row with a Scottish actor called Martin Compston, mocking his accent."

They continued: "Then he had a few words with Idris, poking fun at his bobble hat among other things. Idris looked like he was going to flatten him - they were on completely different wavelengths.

"They were toe-to-toe at one point. Neither of them backed down. Idris was in a good mood, so left it, which was probably for the best. Liam left soon after."
