Paul Gallagher Thinks Oasis Will Get Back Together

Noel Gallagher continues to deny it, but an Oasis reunion is inevitable according to his other brother Paul.

The eldest Gallagher sibling has been DJing on Noel's solo tour dates recently.

But he believes it won't be long before Liam, 42, is back in the frame. Paul, 48, said: "I speak to the pair of them, I see Liam every other day.

"This is a big business. I'm sure (the Oasis reunion) will happen one day, there's too much money for it not to.

"They're a premier band. Regardless of what they say... money talks."

Paul is a major influence on his brothers, getting Andy Bell in Oasis and introducing guitarist Jeff Wootton to Noel, 47.

But he's pretty scathing about Noel's solo career. Paul told the Stage Left podcast: "Noel is a frontman now but he's not a frontman, he's a sideman being a frontman. There's more than getting up and singing to being a frontman.

"Whatever Liam does the crowd goes mental. Noel has the songs but not the presence and he'll never have it."

Paul isn't keen on Noel's latest solo album. He laughed: "I bought it to slag it off. Not my cuppa tea, I like things a bit more up.

"There's something missing in that record - Liam."

It comes on the day Liam accused Noel of plotting his exit years before they split.

Garry Cobain, 47, of Amorphous Androgynous revealed Noel was talking about working solo in 2008. After reading that, Liam posted: "Busted."?

Beady Eye Debut New Single At London Club Night

Liam Gallagher aired a brand new Beady Eye track from the band's forthcoming album at London club night This Feeling, which takes place at the Queen Of Hoxton pub.

Gallagher went to the club to see his Beady Eye bandmate, guitarist Andy Bell, DJing, and gave Bell the green light to play an unnamed track thought to be the band's next single.

“Liam made everyone’s night by shaking every hand in the venue and was on blistering form," said This Feeling organiser Mikey Jonns. "When he gave Andy and [Bell's DJ partner] Arveene the nod to play the new tune the place erupted!”

Tom Rowlett of the band Dexters heard the track. He said, "I was pretty fucked so memory a bit hazy, but it had a big brass section and Liam's vocals sounded massive, proper in-your-face psychedelic rock'n'roll. Sounding fuckin' massive, man, the whole place went off when it came on! Liam was amazing. They always say don't meet your heroes but he was brilliant – he pulled us into his VIP area, we had a few beers with him, he was buzzing off the new LP and so are we now!"

Former Kasabian guitarist Jay Mehler (pictured below), who has recently taken over as Beady Eye's bassist, was also in attendance. Mehler was drafted in following the departure of Jeff Wootton, who has left to go solo.

Bell and Arveene will be DJing at This Feeling Manchester at FAC251 on March 23, with The Sundowners playing live.

Damon Albarn Names Liam Gallagher's New Bass Player

Damon Albarn did an interview with Triple J radio discussing the new Gorillaz album.

In it he mentions members of the live band including a person named Jeff who will be in Liam Gallaghers 's new band according to Damon.

This Jeff is apparently Jeff Wootton as he is the only Geoff that is listed for playing with the live Gorillaz band.

Here is a snippet from the interview

TD: Cool. That's great. Marina [sic] Topley-Bird, in the studio. And behind that door you've got half of The Clash, and you've got a Verve [sic], and you've got various other people in the studio...
DA: No, We haven't got a Verve at the moment. He's coming back. But we have a young lad called Jeff, who, funnily enough is also in Liam's new band.
TD: Liam from Oasis?
DA: Yes.
TD: What are they called, sorry?
DA: I don't know if they've got a name yet. But I just thought that was kind of funny.
TD: Yeah! There you go. Well, if this was like 15 years ago NME would be going crazy over about it, I'd imagine.
DA: Yeah [laughs]
