Audio: Noel Gallagher Calls Luis Suarez A ‘Blatant’ Cheat

Noel Gallagher has branded Luis Suarez a ‘blatant’ cheat and admitted he was happy to see the Uruguayan crying following Liverpool’s 3-3 draw with Crystal Palace.

The Reds threw away a three-goal lead against the Eagles, as their Premier League title challenge crumbled at Selhurst Park.

After the match captain Steven Gerrard and Suarez, who was named FWA Footballer of the Year earlier in the day, were seen with tears in their eyes.

Liverpool's failure to win leaves Manchester City firmly in control of the title race and former Oasis star Gallagher, an ardent fan of the Citizens, said he was over the moon with the result.

“It was nice to see Suarez in tears at the end,” he told the Sports Bar. “I like that. He’s a blatant cheat. How on earth he was awarded the FWA Footballer of the Year Award I’ll never know.

“He’s a disgrace. It was lovely seeing Suarez and Steven Gerrard crying.”

The Reds left Crystal Palace with just one point and saw their Premier League championship ambitions take a huge dent, much to the delight of the famous City fan

Manchester City fan and former Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher was quick to taunt Liverpool after their 3-3 draw with Crystal Palace gave his side a huge boost in the title race.

The Reds led by three goals at Selhurst Park but relinquished their lead in a frantic final 15 minutes, leaving Manuel Pellegrini's side trailing the Merseyside club by a point but with two games in hand.

Gallagher voiced his disapproval of Luis Suarez, who was in tears after the dramatic cdraw shortly after the game.

"It was nice to see Suarez in tears at the end because he is a blatant cheat," Gallagher said to talkSPORT. "It was an endearing image, Gerrard too.

"I can't believe he [Suarez] won the Football Writers' Award. They went 3-0 and got caught up in the emotion.

"Nobody wins by six or seven in the Premier League - unless you're playing Tottenham or Arsenal."

What did you make of Roberto Mancini's dismissal?

NOEL: "To get rid of the guy that won us the league and the FA Cup for the first time in 30-odd years - we didn't like it as fans. But the owners, they do their homework you know, they seem to have got the right man.

"If you'd have told me at the beginning of the season that we'd have already have got a trophy and have progressed in the Champions League and we'll be right up their challenging at the end of the season, having played some amazing football - we'd have all taken that.

"If we don't win the league, they'll be no clamour to get people out or anything like that."

How impressed have you been with Liverpool this season?

NOEL: "If they go on and win it now from where they've come from and take 14 straight wins to take the title; you're going to have to applaud them. If they do a number on us on Sunday I'll clap them off the pitch."

Would you want Luis Suarez at Man City?

NOEL: "I don't know what sort of price they'd put on his head; as each week goes by it must be another £10million.

"I don't think he'll be there that much longer. He's a brilliant player but he's got to be getting sick of the weather now. It's a least one degree warmer in Manchester."

How good is David Silva?

NOEL: "He might be the best player that's ever played for us. He's just out of this world on the ball."

Who will win Liverpool v Man City?

NOEL: "I think on Sunday it will be a draw. I'm going to go with Merson and say a score draw."

Who will win the Premier League?

NOEL: "You absolutely can't call it and anyone who is saying that they can, why don't they rush down to the bookies and put £10,000 on it because this league, out of all the leagues in the world, will make a mug of you.

"We'll go to Anfield and win on Sunday and then get beat by Crystal Palace or something because Yaya's brought his deckchair with him instead of his boots and his iPad and he's doing his shopping in the centre circle instead of getting stuck in.

"You can't call it. I hope we win it. If we don't win it I hope we go super close and if we don't win it I hope Liverpool win it."

Noel Gallagher: 'I Can See Luis Suarez At Manchester City'

Andy and Jason were joined by rock 'n' roll legend and ardent Manchester City fan Noel Gallagher on Thursday night's show to discuss all the latest footballing news.

Gallagher said the ten-game suspension given to Liverpool striker Luis Suarez for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic was 'harsh' and claimed the Anfield club are likely to sell the Uruguayan if they receive a bid big in the summer.

And Gallagher reckons Man City could make a move for Suarez, saying: "I think if you put £40m down, Liverpool would have to sell him. I could see him at Chelsea and I could see him at Man City."
