Nicole Appleton
Liam Gallagher has revealed how one of the most personal tracks on his debut solo album sees him take aim at the friends that abandoned him during his divorce from Nicole Appleton.
The former Oasis singer tackles his 2015 divorce on solo album track ‘Bold’, and told Crack Magazine about how it was aimed at the friends who “scarper when the shit hits the fan.”
“Gonna take you off my list of to-dos…’ You’re ticking all the dickheads off, you know what I mean? When the divorce was goin’ down, a lot of friends or people who were with me when I had a band… It’s that old thing where they’re not there when you need them”, he said.
“When it’s all goin’ good, when there are drinks to be drunk, they’ve got their arm ’round you. But they scarper when the shit hits the fan. Not that I needed them anyway.
“[continues reciting lyrics] ‘Yes, I’ve been bold; I didn’t do what I was told.’ That speaks for itself. You know what you’re getting with me.”
The track is taken from Liam’s first solo album, ‘As You Were’, which is set to be released next month.
But it came close to never happening, after Liam contemplated quitting music following the demise of Beady Eye.
‘As You Were’, is set for release on October 6 – and will be accompanied by a massive UK tour in December.

Wildman Liam Gallagher has stunned fans by telling them the key to a good life is “not drinking too much”.
The former Oasis frontman, 44, blamed his drug and drink-fuelled benders for causing the breakdown of his marriages to Pasty Kensit and Nicole Appleton.
And he urged fans to lay off the booze if they want to stay out of trouble.
He said: “I’ve made some howlers in my personal life, I’ve had a couple of marriages and hurt my kids and that.
“So personally, my advice would be don’t take too many drugs and don’t drink too much alcohol.
“You should stop that because that gets you in situations.
“But overall I’m quite happy with how it’s all gone and is going.
"I’m a good person and I’ve had a good life, rock‘n’roll has been very good to me.”
Liam, who fronted Oasis with brother Noel from the early 90s until their acrimonious split in 2009, became famous for his wild boozing.
But the star has calmed it down as he gets older so he can concentrate on his music.
He was back in action as he took to the stage at the weekend’s Reading and Leeds festivals.
The bad boy rocker left the crowd in good spirits by tweeting that his Leeds set was “up there if not better than” any Oasis gig.
But the goodwill didn’t last long, after the Mancunian star claimed that someone stole his sunglasses.
He later tweeted: “Rite to the c*** who robbed my shades backstage at reading I hope you die you c*** I guess it’s karma for stealing the show as you were LG x (sic)”

Oasis
The Roll With It star said that he'd been left planning an escape after hitting rock bottom due to divorce with Nicole Appleton.
He's not known for backing down from a confrontation, or being that shy and retiring.
But Liam Gallagher has revealed the true extent that his divorce from Nicole Appleton and a custody battle with ex-mistress Liza Ghorbani had on him, revealing he almost started things over with a new life in Spain.
Speaking about the state of his mental health during one of his rockiest years, the 44-year-old Oasis icon said he'd been left close to broke by his £800,000 divorce and a battle over access to his daughter Gemma had seen all his money go on legal fees.
Speaking candidly to GQ about his fall to the bottom and subsequent rise back to the top, Liam said: “Two years ago I was depressed and just really f***ing bored. All my money was going on lawyers."
And it seems that his money woes led him to plan an escape to the sunshines, with Liam almost quitting Britain and fame for a fresh start.
“It was time to get real," he revealed. "I knew that whatever happened with the money I would be left with, I wouldn’t be able to live where I wanted to live in London, so I might have to f*** off for a bit and get a nice place abroad — get a bit of sun, eat some nice food, and try and come up with a plan. Just start again.”
Though it seems there were a few barriers to his plans to flee to the sunshine, with his girlfriend Debbie Gwyther - who he fell for during the break-down of his marriage in 2013.
Speaking about her reactions to his plans to flee the country, Liam said: “Not the best. But I said it wouldn’t be far, a couple of hours on the plane."
And though he may have been experiencing some dire financial straights, it seems that Liam wasn't ready to slum it just yet, adding: “I got this close to going by myself. Googling properties. It weren’t f***ing Magaluf - I’m not that broke, but not far off.
“My kids weren’t bothered. They were just asking if it would have a pool or not, the cheeky f***s.”
But it was at this point that the Beady Eye frontman experienced a flash of inspiration, as "the music came" to him. Something which led him to abandon his plans and start recording his first solo album, As You Were.

Liam Gallagher has backed his sons to start a band and become the next Oasis
The 44-year-old singer's 17-year-old son Lennon - Liam's child with first wife Patsy Kensit - can play guitar and has a great singing voice.
Lennon's 15-year-old half-brother Gene - whose mum is Liam's ex-wife Nicole Appleton - is a talented multi-instrumentalist and can play guitar and drums and Liam is backing them to following in his and his brother Noel's musical footsteps.
However, the 'Roll With It' hitmaker insists no matter what his kids may go on to achieve they'll never be able to match their dad's globe conquering group.
Speaking about Gene's talents at a screening for new Oasis documentary 'Supersonic', he told BANG Showbiz: "Geno's better than me man, I actually think he's a better drummer than guitarist, but as long as he's doing something creative that's OK I'm happy with that."
He added with a grin: "He and Lennon could do (start a band) if they wanted to, but they'll never be as good as Oasis!"
Proud dad Liam recently posted a photo of Gene playing guitar and pulling his best rock star pose on his Twitter account along with the words "get in there my son".
Previously discussing his sons' talents, Liam said: "I'd recommend life in a band to anyone. It's the best gig in the world, man. Gene is up in his room drumming every day. Oh, mate, he loves it. Lennon does guitar lessons and fancies himself as a bit of a singer ... Lennon's a massive Who fan. It's got nothing to do with me, he's just obsessed with 'Quadrophenia'."
Their cousins Sonny and Donavan - Noel's lads with spouse Sara Macdonald - are also being encouraged to get not music by the songwriter.
However, all the Gallagher kids rarely see each other due to Liam and Noel's ongoing feud which was sparked in 2009 when the guitarist quit Oasis.
And Noel, like Liam, wouldn't discourage his lads from starting a rock group together but he's not going to help them.
When once asked if he would advise against his sons Donovan and Sonny choosing his career path, Noel said: "No because we were f***ing great, you know what I mean. I don't know if you heard but we sold like 70 million f***ing albums. I can't teach anyone because I just kind of magicked it up. So my lad has got a drum kit in his bedroom and a guitar, I don't know what he's trying to do, both of them at the same time or something. He's also left-handed which is slightly annoying. My theory is that if we have musical instruments lying around the house then they will just pick them up. I don't say guitar lessons today from three until quarter past. If they do it they do it and if they don't they don't."

Shaznay Lewis
Rocker Liam Gallagher apparently loves All Saints' new song about his divorce from bandmember Nicole Appleton.
The track, titled One Strike, is about a phone call Nicole made to bandmate Shaznay Lewis after it was revealed that Liam had fathered a child with American journalist Liza Ghorbani.
The revelations saw the couple undertake divorce proceedings and their split was finalised in December last year (15).
Although the video for One Strike features Nicole throwing away one of the former Oasis frontman's trademark Parka coats, according to Nicole he loves the record.
"He loves it. It is his favourite song. Really!" The singer tells U.K. TV chat show host Alan Carr.
However Nicole did not even know the song was about her troubled marriage until its writer Shaznay told her, as she recalls, "I didn't even know and I was singing along to it, months later, and she went 'You know when you spoke to me and told me?' and I just went 'Oh my god' and it was quite heavy.
"I was singing it and I didn't know. I was just singing away because I was in a weird place at that time and then all of a sudden it was like 'boom, yeah I get it'."
The heartbroken All Saint also revealed to Alan how the girl group's other members helped her get over the split from her rock star ex-husband, saying, "With a little help from my girlfriends. I'm really good."
In fact the girls are so close that Nicole and her son are now living together with Melanie Blatt her daughter in her family home.
All Saints announced earlier this week (beg14Mar16) they would be embarking on their first full U.K. tour in support of their new album Red Flag later this year (15).<br />

Liam Gallagher is considering buying a property in Italy.
The 43-year-old rock star - who is currently finalising the financial terms of his divorce from second wife Nicole Appleton - has reportedly taken his girlfriend Debbie Gwyther on holiday to northern Italy and has apparently fallen in love with the surroundings.
A source shared: ''Liam fell in love with Italy. Everyone was so welcoming there and he had a great time with Debbie and their friends.
''They stayed in an incredible villa and Liam was thinking of buying a second home so he could divide his time between London and Italy.
''It would be a great place to take his kids on holidays and get away from it all. It all just depends on how it goes with the divorce settlement.''
Liam - who has son Lennon with first wife Patsy Kensit, son Gene with Nicole and children Molly and Gemma from previous relationships - has apparently also developed a keen interest in equestrianism.
The insider told the Daily Mirror newspaper: ''Liam has taken up horse riding and loves it. He finds it relaxing and it's a welcome distraction from everything that has been going on.''

The feuding brothers split the iconic Britpop band in 2009 but they’re back on speaking terms – and rumour has it they’re planning to work together again.
It’s music to the ears of millions of bereft Oasis fans left in a trackless desert after the band’s 2009 split.
Feuding brothers Noel Gallagher and Liam – spotted out with his girlfriend and pals this week, as you can see in the gallery above – are said to have taken the first steps towards a reunion next year.
Weeks after it emerged the pair had patched up their differences, we can reveal the band are in talks for a comeback.
Details were leaked by a well-placed source speaking after 47-year-old Noel’s recent gig in support of the Teenage Cancer Trust at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
They said: “It’s early days in terms of the details, but Noel and Liam are back on good terms and ready to give things another go. Nothing is signed but it’s what you might call a gentlemen’s agreement between them.
“Ultimately they’re family and whatever has gone on before can be sorted out – they’re very close beneath all the bluster.”
Liam is particularly keen to perform a money-spinning series of concerts as he is eager to rebuild his career.
He has suffered a string of damaging revelations about his personal life and his band Beady Eye has folded.
The 42-year-old fathered a child, Gemma, with US music journalist Liza Ghorbani in March 2013. He has recently reached an agreement over payments after a lengthy court battle.
The affair led to his divorce from Nicole Appleton, 40, last year. He is now in a relationship with his former assistant Debbie Gwyther, 32, and was seen out this week having a meal and a few drinks at a pub near his North London home.
The source said: “Noel’s solo career has been a huge success with number one records and sold-out arena tours but Liam hasn’t been able to match that with Beady Eye.
"He is ready to try and put their differences behind them in order to get back on stage together with the band now that Beady Eye have split up.
“Obviously it would be massively lucrative for them both too, and the demand for tickets would be enormous.”
Rumours of a reunion have been circling for months amid claims they would be tempted by an offer of headlining this summer’s Glastonbury Festival.
And Liam posted a photograph of himself online clutching an Access All Areas pass to one of Noel’s solo gigs, revealing the pair were hanging out again – with the caption: “Keeping it in the family.”
But it is thought the pair wanted more time to plan a comeback on their own terms rather than committing to anything this year – while still insisting publicly a reunion remains a long way off.
Noel, who married Sara MacDonald, 43, in 2011, recently admitted their only motivation would be “for the money”.
He said in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine: “If I was ever going to do it, it would only be for the money. This isn’t me putting it out there, by the way.
“Would I do it for charity? No way. We’re not that kind of people.
“For Glastonbury? I don’t think Michael Eavis has got enough money. But would we get back together one day? As long as everybody is still alive and still has their hair, it’s always a possibility. But only for the money.”
Today representatives for both Noel and Liam declined to comment about plans for a reunion – although sources say Noel has yet to be completely convinced.

Noel Gallagher has said that his brother Liam is "making a fucking mess" of his personal life at the moment, but backed him to be able to get back to his best.
The last twelve months have proven tumultuous for Liam with the Beady Eye split and a long-running court case in New York over financial support for a baby he fathered while married to ex-wife Nicole Appleton.
Speaking to NME in the cover feature of this week's issue, which is on newsstands now and available digitally, his older brother Noel acknowledges things are not going well for Liam at the moment.
"He's making a fucking mess of things at the moment, but we've all been there," he says. "I've been there. Something like that can be a great thing because you get to the bottom and you cleanse yourself of a lot of fucking shit baggage and you start again. I’m the kind of person that says 'Fuck it, take it' and I'll start again. And that would be my advice to him."
Asked to pinpoint what went wrong for Beady Eye, who separated in October 2014 after releasing two albums, Noel identifies a key issue with the band's make up. "They’re a fucking great band but they're not great songwriters. They needed one great song. Not just a hit single, a great fucking tune. But I don’t think he’ll be out of the game forever."
The last time Noel saw Liam was at the Etihad Stadium on May 11 last year, the day Manchester City won the Premier League. "I was in the directors box, obviously, and he was outside selling burgers, and one of the directors asked if I wanted to go on the pitch with the team, and I was like, 'Fucking yeah' so I went on the pitch and in the tunnel before I said to [club captain] Vincent Kompany 'Give us your armband' and he gave me it, so I was wearing it in the bar afterwards, and I was sitting there talking to somebody, and someone came up behind me and tried to take the armband off and I was like, 'Fucking get off of it' and it was Liam. And he was like, 'Fucking hell man you knobhead, you shouldn’t have that, I should fucking have that'. And that's how it started. And I was like, 'Oh yeah, alright, and how are you?' Every time I see him he is still being a bit of a fucking cheeky cunt. And he’s still putting out the persona of the angry barking dog."
Meanwhile, Ed Sheeran has responded to Noel's remarks that he couldn't live in a world where Ed Sheeran headlines Wembley, stating "I can live in it, it's really enjoyable".
Earlier this week Gallagher revealed his new single 'Ballad Of The Mighty I' and reiterated his desire to play Glastonbury in June, suggesting that he might take his guitar and play regardless of whether he is officially booked for the festival or not.
Gallagher's upcoming record 'Chasing Yesterday' will be his second solo studio album and features his new single 'In The Heat Of The Moment'.

Noel Gallagher On His Brother Liam And The Break Up Of Beady Eye
Robbie Williams
Take That
This week's dig at Liam's marriage to Nicole Appleton was just the latest in a long line of attempts by Williams to antagonise the Gallagher brothers. We recall five of the best.
"Would anybody like to see me fight Liam?" taunted Robbie Williams at 2000's Brits, back when Rudebox and an obsession with UFOs were both inconceivable prospects for the singer. While it never amounted to fisticuffs, this lairy threat has been repeated in different forms at regular intervals throughout the past 13 years of Williams's career, depleting slightly in its extremity as each album campaign gets churned out. This week, for example, the former Take That singer criticised Liam's relationship with wife Nicole Appleton, amid claims the Oasis singer had an affair.
Their relationship hasn't always been so antsy, however. In 1995, when Williams walked out on his boyband, he bounded into Liam's rock'n'roll life with ease – because although he had once writhed around in jelly, he also had a rebellious side with a penchant for Adidas jackets, booze, birds and fags. He was briefly allowed to roam wild in the Britpop world, where he so desperately wanted to belong. And for a while, it was magical. Liam and Robbie played charity football together, spent a lost weekend causing trouble at Glastonbury, and even shared the same stage, with Williams swaggering and sneering circles around Liam like a bloated Bez.
But the romance didn't last long, souring when big brother Noel put an end to their antics. Like a jealous child who wanted his toy back, Noel declared that Williams was a just a "fat dancer from Take That" – from which point Liam, it appeared, was not allowed to come out to play.
Thankfully, Williams met with the warm, welcoming arms of Guy Chambers. But he would never forget. Here's a rundown of some of his best attacks on the Gallagher brothers.
Robbie at the Brit Awards
Choosing a very public sphere to air his grievances, Williams took to the stage to propose a challenge. "Would you pay to come and see it? Liam, a hundred grand of your money and a hundred grand of my money, we'll get in the ring, we'll have a fight and you can all watch it on TV," he said with the arrogance of someone who had not only just won an award, but was also making a threat to an opponent who wasn't actually in the country at the time. A few months later at the Q awards, Liam and Robbie came face to face. "This one's for Robbie," said Liam, holding his award. "He understands the letter Q."
Robbie at Knebworth
Following Oasis' triumph at Knebworth in 1996, Williams decided he'd knock them off the top spot, selling out three nights as opposed to their two. After confirming the live stint, Williams allegedly sent Noel a pair of tap dancing shoes with a message reading: "Dear Mr N Gallagher, you said two nights at Knebworth is history. Well, I guess three is just greedy. Yours, Rob. PS: Finding it difficult to find adequate support for my show. What are you doing on the 1st and 2nd? Oh, and the 3rd?"
Robbie with Nicole
No juvenile feud between two highly competitive heterosexual men would be right without a girl involved, would it? In the late 90s, Williams and Appleton got engaged. They split in 2000, and a year later she began dating Liam. In this 2010 clip, the former All Saints singer, joined by Melanie Blatt, attempts to interview Williams backstage at the Brits. The tension is nauseatingly palpable, as Williams holds her close and reminisces about the past, commenting, "I see you don't change your perfume". Shortly after the interview Liam collected an award on stage, but threw the microphone and the award into the audience, and reportedly pushed over a female staff member.
Take That at Wembley
With a newly pumped ego spurred on by the grand Take That reunion, Williams performed at London's Wembley Stadium and took the opportunity to gloat at beating Oasis' run at the venue. "Noel Gallagher, you can kiss my perfectly formed backside," he grinned to a sea of squealing fans. The dance at the end is unnecessary.
Robbie on Beady Eye
Earlier this year, Liam called Williams a "fat fucking idiot" during a rant about the singer. Williams responded with a calm and conceited dissection of Liam's career with Beady Eye. He told the Sun: "The production is really good. There are a couple of tunes that would have been fucking amazing if they had a chorus. Flick of the Finger, nearly a great tune. Start Anew, if that had a chorus – but there is no chorus." Source: www.guardian.co.uk
