Liam Gallagher Says He’ll ‘Take Every Drug On the Planet’ When He’s Old

Liam Gallagher reveals his typically Liam Gallagher response to getting old in a new episode of the BBC’s music show Backstage Pass.

When asked if he’s worried about the future, the Liam reveals his plans to ‘take hardcore hallucinogenics’ and ‘trip my bollocks off until I die’.

Of course he is.

The 12-minute episode follows the former Oasis star as he gears up to perform in Paris, right up until the moment he takes to the stage with his band.

So what is Backstage Pass?

The BBC iPlayer show centres on a different artist each time as they get ready for a live performance. Previous artists who have featured are Kasabian and Olly Murs

What’s Liam Gallagher’s episode about?

Filmed earlier this year, cameras capture Liam as he hangs out with his friends and family and chats to press before performing at Lollapalooza in Paris, the first ever Lollapalooza to be held in the city.

What are the highlights?

Along the way he’s quizzed about fashion, his upcoming solo album As You Were and what his feelings are about aging.

Answering the latter, he says: ‘I can’t wait until I’m about 80. I’m gonna take hardcore hallucinogenics, I’m gonna drink loads of f*****g alcohol, and get into every drug on the planet, and then I’m just gonna sit there in a waistcoat, and in a pair of mad f*****g trousers with a pair of cowboy boots on, a f*****g perm, and I’m just gonna f*****g dribble myself to death and not have to worry about f**k all. F*****g trip my bollocks off until I die. I can’t wait.’

He also reveals the most touristy thing he’s done in Paris is ‘have a Le Big Mac with mayonnaise and French fries’.

Any snark about his beloved brother Noel?

Of course. This is Liam Gallagher we’re talking about. One great moment comes when he’s talking to press, and a journalist asks him why he’s surrounded by cameras.

Explaining that he’s filming for the BBC, Liam quips: ‘I don’t usually travel with loads of people, I’m not Beyoncé… or Noel Gallagher.’

Anything else?

LG is who he is and he’s never going to change, which makes for a really entertaining episode. You could easily watch an hour of him moaning about the death of rock ‘n’ roll.
I’m sold. When can I watch it?

Backstage Pass: Liam Gallagher arrives on BBC iPlayer on September 8.

Noel Gallagher's Tales From The Middle Of Nowhere (Vol.2) Part Forty

From Noel Gallagher's 'Tales From The Middle Of Nowhere' tour diary.

Well… Can't remember when the last time was we spoke… To be honest I'm having trouble remembering anything after the BRITs! What a smash up!! Well enjoyed it. It'll probably be the last time I ever get nominated so we were pretty determined to rip it a new arsehole, and from what I can gather we had a right good crack at it too. It's all got a bit too slick that thing now though, it's treated with a bit too much respect, if you ask me… It is but a TV show with a few awards carved up and spread around… And if I'm not very much mistaken did I detect the faint whiff of a few wrong 'uns miming? I think I did… You know who you are and you should be ashamed of yourselves. I digged Coldplay though, and Blur and Olly Murs' dancers!! (Blimey!!!)

As for what went on after? Reports are still coming in. I remember going to a party on a boat. I remember going to another party in a posh gaff in the West End. I remember getting that comedian Rob Brydon to do his thing for us (which was fuckin' funny). I remember… well not much else, to be honest. Called it a day at about 10am!! Proper old school business. Didn't get home until 5pm the next evening and I'd somehow managed to nick a giant shoe and ended up with an £8,000 watch!!! And I don't even wear a watch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Felt as bad as I've ever felt yesterday. I was seriously thinking of phoning in sick. I needn't have worried though. Last night's gig here in Newcastle was mega… Might have been the best one yet. Had a top laugh with the crowd. A great night. If you were there, I thank you.

ONWARDS.

GD.

Liam Gallagher Officially Named Among Hardest-Working Artists In Showbiz

Olly Murs and JLS came joint top of PRS For Music poll.

Liam Gallagher has been credited as being among the hardest-working artists in showbiz by a music industry body.

The Beady Eye frontman made it into the top 10 of PRS For Music's annual poll, which finds out which acts have headlined the most major venues throughout the year.

Olly Murs and JLS came out joint top of the poll, while Take That were in third place in the poll.

Barney Hooper from PRS For Music explained: "Performing live and going on tour are fundamental to any artist and is a great way for them to engage with their fans. Congratulations to both JLS and Olly Murs and all the songwriters who they have worked with to create the music that so many people are enjoying".

JLS hailed their nod as a "great achievement", while Murs said it was a "real honour" to come out joint top of the list.

Meanwhile, Gallagher has not yet commented on his band's top ten placing, which came as a result of numerous headline dates around the UK and the rest of the world with Beady Eye.

Liam And Noel Gallagher Stand By Olly Murs

Olly Murs has become the missing link between warring brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher - who BOTH contacted him separately to cheer him on.

Olly, 25, who performed a duet with Robbie Williams last night, told how the two Oasis stars - at loggerheads since the band split in August - reckoned he had the talent to go all the way.

And Olly even joked that he believed he could be the peacemaker between the pair and help get the chart-topping band back together.

He said: "Liam Gallagher got in touch to say he was a fan and that he liked my style and he was backing me on the show.

"He sent loads of clothes from his new fashion range for me to wear on the show and in the final. I was chuffed.

"Then a few days later Noel sent a text completely out of the blue to say he was a fan too and that he liked my voice.

"I'd love to get them back together. I'm a massive Oasis fan." Olly even hinted at the chance of performing with the brothers. The Essex boy added: "Who wouldn't want to sing with them?"
