Noel Gallagher has been described as a ''chippy bloke'' who shows slight elements of wisdom by Russell Brand.
The 41-year-old comedian has a long list of celebrity pals, including the former Oasis band member, who he believes is a ''normal'' person, and will occasionally show a hint of ''wisdom'' when the air are together.
Speaking to NME magazine about the musician, the 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall' actor said: ''Sometimes he's just a normal, quite chippy bloke from Manchester, but t other times you glimpse his wisdom.''
And Russell has revealed musician Morrissey - whose full name is Steven Patrick Morrissey - is ''always obtuse and vague''.
He explained: ''He is his art. I asked him what a bit of 'Now My Heart is Full' meant and he just went mysteriously: 'Oh you know ... the gang.' He's always obtuse and vague.''

Noel Gallagher has teased the release date of his long-awaited new album.
The former Oasis man has been working on his third album with the High Flying Birds, the follow-up to 2015’s ‘Chasing Yesterday‘, with producer David Holmes – revealing last year that the album would be finished by June.
Now, he’s given fans an update on the long-awaited record. Appearing this weekend on Russell Brand’s Radio X show, Gallagher said “I believe it’s slated for a November release”. When pushed for a song title, he said “there’s one just called instrumental number three”.
Speaking to NME in April 2016, Noel revealed that for his third solo record he’ll be mixing things up in the creative process. “I am doing something different this time, to amuse myself – I am writing in the studio for the first time. As a rule I’ve not allowed myself to go in with any completed songs, so I am writing in there, it’s happening all around me during the day.”
“Usually I’ll go in, play a song, record an acoustic version of it and then I’ll think of something and we’ll head toward it. Everything we do is a forward motion toward that point. When you’re writing in the studio you don’t know where you’re going, so the flavour of it all can constantly shift. It’s a bit chaotic but the end results are great so far.”
Last year, producer David Holmes told Gigwise: “People are going to be surprised. I think people love Noel and they’re desperate for him to make a really big, bold, uptempo beast of a record – a lot of Noel’s music is quite mid-tempo. This one is quite fun.”
While last week it was rumoured that Gem Archer had joined the High Flying Birds, Noel will be kicking off a UK and European tour in July to support U2 for the anniversary of ‘The Joshua Tree’ – something that Liam attacked him for, accusing him of ‘brown-nosing’ the band.

Russell Brand was shamed on his radio return by Noel Gallagher who outed him as middle class with a butler.
The former Oasis star was a guest on self-proclaimed “man of the people” Brand’s show.
But he went on to tell listeners how the political activist lived in a £7million home overlooking the River Thames.
He said Russell boasts a butler and has a cottage. Russell, 41, began the first in a number of shows on Radio X yesterday.
He joked about being kicked off the air when he and Jonathan Ross abused Andrew Sachs in 2008.
Manchester City fan Noel said: “Russell has got the River Thames as his garden. This is how middle class he his.”
Fan Siobhan Thomas said: “I’m loving Noel outing Russell.”

The 48-year-old former Oasis star is great friends with the comedian and the pair recently attended the Premier League soccer match between their beloved Manchester City and West Ham at the Boleyn Ground stadium in London last month.
However, during their drive to the match Noel couldn't help but notice that Russell, 40, keeps wet wipes under his sun visors which he thinks could be a sign that his pal has murderous tendencies.
Speaking as he hosted a special show for Absolute Radio - which can be listened to at Absoluteradio.co.uk - Noel said: ''I spent the day with him recently. He took me to see a match a couple of weeks ago. He drove us from the house in Maida Vale to West Ham which is the other side of the river. It was brilliant. I never get him in a car for more than five minutes. I was in the Range Rover with him ... I always find it weird that under the sun visors he has wet wipes. Now that's serial killer gear that innit? The wet wipes. If you have ever seen 'Making a Murderer, you'll understand what the wet wipes thing is. Who has wet wipes in the car. What you doing in there?''
Noel also revealed Russell refused to let a fire engine trying to get to a call out as they drove to the game.
He added: ''When we were in the Range Rover there was a big flashing light behind him. It was a fire engine, obviously on the way to a fire, trying to overtake us. And he wouldn't let this thing past.
''And when they were blowing their horn, he was kept looking in the wing mirror going, who is it, who is it? And I was like, it's a massive fire engine, can't you see that.''

Noel Gallagher makes some typically acerbic asides as part of his contribution to the forthcoming documentary about his friend, Russell Brand, but now the Flying Birds frontman is complaining that he's been cut from the film.
Noel, who has contributed to 'Russell Brand: Second Coming' following Russell's transformation from Hollywood aspiring film star to London-based activist and author, told Metro earlier this week, "I'm assuming my bit is the best thing in it, which is why they cut it. I won't be going to see it."
However, the High Flying Birds frontman has got it wrong, with his bon mots on his friend's brief marriage to pop star Katy Perry remaining, as he says, remaining very much part of the film. And, as our clip reveals, some of his best lines have not been forgotten...
Noel, who used to appear regularly on Russell's radio show when he was still employed by the BBC, tells a story from when the comedian was freshly married to Katy, and phoned him, asking for advice on what to do if he and his new bride wanted to watch different channels on television.
The film's director Ondi Timoner followed Russell for the best part of two years, as he gave up his Hollywood life in search of something more meaningful, a journey that brought him back to London, to the corridors of Westminster, the streets of East London and into confrontation on 'Newsnight' as he shared his own history with drugs to campaign for decriminalisation, and then spoke about the need for revolution of the political process.

Noel Gallagher isn't averse to sharing his opinions when called upon, and Friday was no exception.
Asked by HuffPost Live's Alyona Minkovski what he thought of our country's current most senior statesman, the Flying Birds frontman was concise and apparently unambivalent.
"A bell-end" was the exact phrase.
Watch a snippet from Noel's interview here.
He also admitted that he, like his friend Russell Brand, won't be voting in next week's General Election, but for different reasons. He confessed that, "like a bozo, I missed my postal vote."
But he added that he couldn't get behind anybody in politics in England at the moment, calling "David Cameron a bell-end, Ed Miliband a communist, the rest of them don't really count. My trust in politicians is long since gone".
But he does believe in voting, and he gave his reasons.
David Cameron, who's had a rough week of it when it comes to batting off celebs' opinions - "I haven't got time to hang out with Russell Brand' echoing in the chambers of Westminster - might take some solace in the knowledge that Noel doesn't have too high an opinion of his leading rival, either.
Noel famously visited Tony Blair in Downing Street in July 1997, at the height of their respective powers. Noel was surfing the wave of Britpop in the UK with his Oasis bandmates, while his host Tony Blair was still riding the crest of popularity after his landslide win a couple of months before.
Judging by the look on Noel's face when asked about the state of UK politics, it wouldn't seem that we will be seeing a similar snap in the near future.
