Rock ace Noel Gallagher doesn’t mind his songs being used on The X Factor as he always gets asked beforehand.
The 44-year-old Q Award winner, at No 1 with his debut solo album, told me: “I don’t get precious about my songs. I don’t take the show seriously, musically. As long as they’re not crackheads or robbing my house it’s all good.”
And although Noel is grounded about his position as a legend, he still gets excited about making music. He added: “Recording in Los Angeles is pretty much living the dream as a musician.”

Being the guy from Oasis
"I'm not running from the guy that was in Oasis. That is me. We just go under a different name. And I sing the same, I'm in the some bands, I dress the same, so..."
On playing Oasis songs again
"I might do it. You know, I'd like to. I mean why not, man? I like those songs."
On an Oasis reunion
"I'm definitely up - well, Noel is the one that started this kind of thing. But I'm definitely up for doing a tour. I mean, as long - I don't think me 'n' him'll ever be in a full-on band again, you know what I mean? That's done, I think. But Noel was mentioning like a tour for the 2015 'What's the Story Morning Glory', and I think by then, three years, I will have grown up a bit and so will he."

The Stone Roses

Chart champ Noel Gallagher knew that the Stone Roses were going to reform. The ex-Oasis man revealed: “We’d known for a while and were sworn to secrecy.
“It’s great for the fans and for them and a nice feeling just to see them together after so long. I love them as friends and as a band.”
And the Manc chart-topper, who has announced his first solo tour for next year, laughed at the suggestion that Oasis will reform.
Noel said: “They’ve been split for 15 years, we split up 15 minutes ago. We’re all waiting for The Smiths to do it. They say it won’t happen but they said the same about the Roses.”
One comeback Noel does think is essential is on The X Factor.
He said: “They should bring Simon Cowell back. It can’t be a coincidence that the ratings have gone down just when he left.”

Simon Cowell

X Factor fan Noel Gallagher declared that the show has been "no good" since the departure of Simon Cowell.
The former Oasis guitarist, who turned down a mentoring role on the programme, said it had worked better with the music supremo as head of the judging panel.
Asked what he thought of the latest series of X Factor, he replied: "No good without Simon Cowell in it."
Gallagher - whose debut solo album is top of the chart - was speaking on the red carpet as he arrived at the Q Awards. He was named Q Icon at the awards ceremony.
The musician's comments came as a decline in viewing figures coincided with a change in the line-up of judges, now headed up by Take That singer Gary Barlow.

Noel Gallagher has responded to his brother Liam's invitation to reunite in 2015 by saying he can celebrate the 20th anniversary of Oasis's (What's The Story) Morning Glory? without him.
Speaking to Newsbeat at the Q Awards on Monday, he said: "He's got my permission to go and play it. He can play it if he wants. I don't mind.
"I left that band for a reason and that reason still stands."
Speaking to BBC Radio 4 last week, Liam extended an invitation to Noel to bring the Manchester band back together for gigs.
"There's a lot of talk of him going into interviews saying it'd be great to get back together in 2015 and do the Morning Glory tour and I'm down with that," Liam said.
"We've got another Beady Eye record to make, then have a year off, then I'm down for a 2015 reunion with my beautiful brother Noel Gallagher.
"It's not a definite. But I'm up for it."
Noel Gallagher left Oasis back in August 2009 saying that he could no longer work with his younger brother.
This weekend he topped the UK's official album chart with his debut, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds.
He beat off competition from 2010 X Factor winner Matt Cardle.
"The X Factor mob sell a lot of records so I was quite surprised to be honest," Gallagher told Newsbeat.
