'I'm like a small boy when shit like that happens.'
Yes comrades… where were we?
The match? Well, it ended in a draw. A fair result in the end. We should have won it, but on the other hand we could have lost it.
The Scousers on the firm were getting a bit too vocal about it for my liking, then again there was a coffee AND a biscuit riding on it so I understand their anxiety!!
Mario had a mad 20 minutes. He came, he saw, he ran around a bit, he got sent off!!! Par for the course with that lad. We still love him though. Well done to the boys for seeing it through.
From there we went straight to some arena or other to see Paul McCartney. Somewhat predictably he was mega… as always. He's got ALL the tunes, innit!!! Actually managed to get to say hello to him before the show!! What a treat. I'm like a small boy when shit like that happens. And he's a true gentleman. The fuckin' daddy!
And to the gig… my gig. Just got back from it actually. A special night. These Italian kids really do know how to get the hairs on your neck to stand up. And they ARE just kids, most of 'em. I don't mind telling you it got a bit emotional in places. Birds crying, and that!! Didn't make for the best singing I've ever done but… y'know, I apologise for that. Just my blimmin' luck it was going out LIVE on TV… Bugger… Oh well… It was a great night, all the same.
Off to Amsterdam tomorrow. A day off. Now there was a time when that was a recipe for Armageddon. Gladly those days are well behind us (I say "us", what I mean is "me").
Them Dutch are a bit more reserved. Or are they just shit-faced on some psychedelic greenery, or other? A bit of both, I expect.
Anyway, gotta go… Arrivederci, as the natives say.

Liam Gallagher seems reluctant to do it, so the door is open for plenty of speculation.
Liam Gallagher was one of two focal points in Oasis, the other being Noel Gallagher. Noel, more or less, dominated Oasis with the short-fused Liam put in Noel’s shadow. Noel wrote most of the songs, talked a bigger talk than Oasis could walk and thus became the band’s voice.
As most people who followed Oasis know, Liam and Noel fought constantly, leading Noel to leave the band and Liam to carry on as best he could. An underdog.
Which is why Beady Eye is such a revelation, even if Liam is matter-of-fact about the band and its album, Different Gear, Still Speeding.
While Noel was pontificating, Liam was settling down and improving as a songwriter. He also could rely on the other guys in Oasis, which he’d inherited. They — Gem Archer, Andy Bell, Chris Sharrock — had songs and ideas of their own.
“We wanted to show that we knew what we were doing,” notes Gallagher.
Although he is miles away, talking on the telephone, it’s possible to imagine him saying this with a shrug. Oasis had been together 15 years. The transition to Beady Eye was, from that perspective, natural.
“Some of the songs were there before,” he adds. “About 50 per cent would have been on the next Oasis album.”
However, this wasn’t Oasis, the point being made by taking a new name. Beady Eye signified a fresh start.
“We just wanted to get into the studio,” Liam explains. “It’s a lot different from having Noel there. We just wanted great guitar music with lots of melody.”
Which is probably why Different Gear, Still Speeding sounds like a veteran band with the leash off. Without Noel calling the shots and being the dictator, the members of Beady Eye seem freed to try out a range of ideas. The resulting album has a freshness with colour and variety that the last few Oasis albums didn’t deliver.
Still acting as a guideline, though, was Liam’s devotion to British invasion rock, especially to The Beatles. Beady Eye has elements of The Kinks and Small Faces in songs such as “Millionaire,” “Standing on the Edge of the Noise” or, tellingly, “Beatles and Stones” and “Wigwam” could be the band’s “It’s All Too Much,” Beatle George Harrison’s psychedelic opus.
Gallagher figures the next Beady Eye album even has more of the Harrison flavour — of his All Things Must Pass album.
But that second album is nowhere near completion. For now, the band is performing songs from the first album and developing.
“I think with the first album we just wanted to record the songs,” Liam says, “With the second album you’ll see growth.”
Beady Eye are set to finish off 2011 with a nine date tour of North America. The US shows round up nine months of solid touring, playing over 90 gigs across four different continents, for their debut album 'Different Gear, Still Speeding' which has been certified Gold. Following Christmas the band will begin work on their second album.
The North American tour includes the following dates:
29th November - VANCOUVER, Commore Ballroom 30th November - SEATTLE, Showbox Market 02nd December - SAN FRANCISCO, The Warfield 03rd December - LOS ANGELES, Wiltern Theatre 05th December - MINNEAPOLIS, First Avenue 06th December - MILWAUKEE, The Rave Ballroom 08th December - WASHINGTON, 9:30 Club 09th December - NEW YORK, Terminal 5 10th December - BOSTON, House Of Blues
Bar some fuckin' annoying technical difficulties it was great. Really great. Couldn't have been anyone in the crowd over 25!! Sang their blimmin' hearts out, they did.
So we're on the way to Milan today. Got a mega day off lined up. Man City play Liverpool this evening. My people in Milan have sorted out somewhere to watch it live. Should be a laugh. Got a few Liverpool supporters on the firm so it's given it a bit more spice than usual. Been a bit of bravado from the Scousers. So much so that my bass player (a Scouser) has bet my security guard (a righteous super blue) that Liverpool win. And the bet? A coffee and a biscuit!!!!! Coffee and a biscuit??? Fuck me…
Now, the gig then? Well as luck would have it none other than Paul McCartney is playing in Milan tonight!! What a result.
This has the makings of a great, great day. I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow...
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds reveal the third of a series of videos to the upcoming single, 'If I Had A Gun...'. This video forms part of the trilogy entitled 'Ride The Tiger', which also includes the videos for 'The Death Of You And Me' and 'AKA...What A Life!'. All three videos, directed by Mike Bruce, have been cut together to make one incredible trilogy including some previously unreleased new footage.
'Considering all three videos in the trilogy were pretty awesome, that makes Gallagher's project the most successful vidoe trilogy of all time, easily besting Axl Rose's "Don't Cry" / "November Rain" / "Estranged" triple shot' Entertainment Weekly.
The video trilogy is available to view below! The new single will be released on 26th December and available on 7", CD and download, all these including the brand new b-side 'I'd Pick You Every Time'.
It's been reported by several radio stations that the next single to be released in the UK by Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds will be 'If I Had A Gun' on Boxing Day (Dec 26th).
Let There Be Love" is a song on the British rock band Oasis' sixth album, Don't Believe the Truth. Written by Noel Gallagher, it is the second Oasis song to feature Liam and Noel on lead vocals, the first being the B-Side "Acquiesce". It was released on November 28, 2005 as the third single from the album in the UK, and the second single in the US. It reached number two in the UK charts, capping a very successful year for the band. Many critics cited this song as proof that Oasis had returned to form we had seen in the mid-90's.
A demo for the track was recorded during demo sessions for Standing on the Shoulder of Giants. A bootleg of these demo sessions was leaked onto the Internet in early 2000. This track was given the unofficial title "It's A Crime" on many bootlegs as the track was unknown and unreferenced anywhere before then. The album version of the song is structurally almost exactly as the same as the demo with a slight change in melody in the part that Noel sings. The lyrics to the chorus remains intact, but the verses and bridge have totally rewritten lyrics.
The single version of the song omits the second verse and chorus.
A second, Noel-sung demo was released on the "Let There Be Love" DVD single. It has the same lyrics as the album version, and in fact the album version takes some elements from the demo such as the piano. It was probably recorded sometime in 2003 or 2004, prior to the main Don't Believe the Truth recording sessions.
The video is a montage of some of Oasis' live shows during the summer of 2005 including clips of the gigs at Hampden Park and the City of Manchester Stadium. The clips don't actually show the band playing 'Let There Be Love'.
The song has only been played live once, on an Italian radio show in late 2005.
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds will play a sold out gig at the Alcatraz in Milan, Italy later today.
You can listen to the gig on RTL 102.5 from 21:00 (local time) and fans in Italy will also be able to watch it live on RADIOVISION on chanel 36 on terrestrial and 750 on Sky.

Liam Gallagher didn't waste any time starting a new band when Oasis called it quits after one last brawl with his brother Noel backstage in Paris in 2009. "It took about four beers," he says, confidence unscathed. Beady Eye (which also includes Oasis guitarists Andy Bell and Gem Archer and drummer Chris Sharrock) released its first album, "Different Gear, Still Speeding," earlier this year. The group plays Friday at the Regency Ballroom.
Q: You're playing clubs again. Is it hard going back after you performed in every major arena in the world with Oasis?
A: Not at all. I would much rather be in Oasis, but that wasn't to be. I'm not going to stop making music just because Noel isn't going to be in a band with me. I've already been in one of the biggest bands in the world. Some of the times are good and some are s-. It's all about being happy, and I'm having a good time right now being in Beady Eye.
Q: How is the new stuff going over live? "Bring the Light" must sound like the apocalypse.
A: It's like the Pistols with a piano.
Q: You're not playing any Oasis songs. Isn't it a bit like Paul McCartney going out and just playing "Pipes of Peace"?
A: I could if I wanted to play it, but we started out this band saying we're not going to play those songs. We're going to stick with it. It's a lot more than can be said by Noel Gallagher. He'll never know if people are coming to hear him or Oasis. We're getting people who want to see Beady Eye. That, to me, is success.
Q: Do you regret that you and Noel can't work things out?
A: No, I don't want to work anything out. He took the ball and left. The reason we split up is I'm not on his payroll. He could sack everyone else in the band, but he couldn't do that with me. I told him how f- it was and the only way for him to go was leaving the band. So he left. I don't miss being in a band with Noel. I actually like who I am and what I stand for. He's a bit of a social chameleon. He wouldn't look out of place in Coldplay's band.
Q: What are your ambitions this time around? Do you want Beady Eye to play Knebworth in five years?
A: I want to make Beady Eye as big as possible. I want to turn on kids in Uruguay, L.A. and Manchester. I'm not taking my foot off the gas. {sbox}
The videos below are from November 27th, 2000, when Noel Gallagher joined 'The Who' on stage at The Royal Albert Hall in London.
Kelly Jones, Eddie Vedder and Paul Weller also joined The Who on stage for a once-in-a-lifetime performance for the benefit of the Teenage Cancer Trust.
