Could Beady Eye Pull Out Of V Festival After Gem Archer's Injury?

Beady Eye's appearances at this month's V Festival are currently uncertain after cancelling shows in Belgium and Japan due to an injury sustained by guitarist Gem Archer.

Liam Gallagher’s band were due to play the Lokerse Festival is Belgium tomorrow (August 5), and the Summer Sonic in Tokyo on Saturday (August 10). Both have now been cancelled.

It’s still unclear whether Archer will be fit to play V Festival, the band’s next scheduled show after Japan, on August 17.

A statement from the group’s management read: “Due to guitarist Gem Archer’s injury, the band regret to inform fans that they will be cancelling their upcoming shows in Belgium and Japan until further notice. They are very sorry for any disappointment this will cause but as Gem in an integral part of the band there is no way that they can play without him. An update on Gem's condition will follow.”

On Saturday 3 August, band member Andy Bell tweeted: “Wanna wish my brother @gemarcherbe a speedy recovery X.”

Beady Eye's Gem Archer Is Hospitalised With Severe Head Trauma

Following an accident on the evening of Thursday August 1st, Beady Eye guitarist Gem Archer was hospitalised with severe head trauma.

He is currently in a stable condition but continues to stay in hospital under observation.

As previously reported, shows this week in Belgium and Japan have been cancelled.

His family, friends and bandmates thank everyone who have sent messages of support and well wishes so far and hope to see him back on his feet soon.

An update on his condition will follow.

Bookies Slash The Odds On New Material By Oasis In 2015

Bookmakers have slashed the odds on Oasis headlining the Saturday night of Glastonbury 2014, NME reports.

The Gallagher-fronted band were previously 16/1 to headline the Pyramid Stage next year but those odds have dropped to 9/1 following a rush of bets over the past week. Paddy Power have also cut the odds on the band reforming from 12/1 to 5/1 and Oasis are now at 11/2 to release an album of new material by the end of 2015.

Alternatively, Noel Gallagher is 20/1 to headline the festival on his own in the slot previously claimed by the likes of Coldplay, Bruce Springsteen, Jay Z and, this year, the Rolling Stones. Paddy Power are not, however, currently offering odds on Beady Eye topping the bill in 2014.

Despite the reduced odds, Oasis still remain an outside bet to headline the Worthy Farm festival next year with Foo Fighters, David Bowie and Daft Punk still favourites with the bookies. Dave Grohl and co. are odds on at 4/1 while Bowie and Daft Punk are at 8/1.

A spokesperson for Paddy Power said: "We've seen a lot of money being placed on Noel and Liam burying the hatchet, reforming, and rocking Glastonbury – it's enough to make anyone think there could be an expensive divorce or paternity claim just around the corner."

Other bands and artists included in the latest odds include Kasabian, Fleetwood Mac and Prince. Popstar Olly Murs is a long shot with odds of 100/1. See below for a full list of Glastonbury Saturday night 2014 headliner odds:

Mumford & Sons love Liam Gallagher despite him insulting the band.

Frontman Marcus Mumford thinks the Beady Eye singer is "always really funny", and was glad to be recognised by the legendary musician even though he slammed the group for being boring.

Liam famously said the band - which also includes Ted Dwayne, Winston Marshall and Ben Lovett - "look like fucking Amish people, as rock and roll as a blue rinse".

Marcus, 26, was amused, however, and told Q magazine: "I fucking love him. The fact that we're on his radar is awesome."

One Direction's Louis Tomlinson Calls Noel Gallagher A Knob!

One Direction's Louis Tomlinson has responded to Noel Gallagher telling the band their music can ‘f*** off’ by branding him a ‘k**b’.

However the singer revealed he would only ‘expect’ Gallagher to be a ‘k**b’. ‘At the end of the day you kind of want Noel Gallagher to be a k**b,’ he told British GQ in the controversial new issue of the men’s monthly.

 ‘You expect him to be a k**b. That’s cool in a way,’ he goes on. ‘He says s**t like that but that’s definitely what we would expect from someone like him. He’s predictable.’

 Bandmate Harry Styles also saw the abuse from the former Oasis star as something of a compliment. ‘It’s easy to have a pop at the kids from X Factor,’ the floppy haired star said, adding: ‘Thing is, his kids are coming to our show.’

Pretty Green gears up for a colourful season with its Spring/ Summer 2014 collection. With a backdrop of psychedelic colours and influences of the Beatles Magical Mystery Tour the collection heads off on a 60’s vibe.

With a heritage steeped in music, the brand is deeply rooted in the great rock and roll decades of rebellion and self-expression. While continuing with the classic pieces that demonstrate this strong identity, the SS14 collection also offers new pieces with equal measures of attitude. Has Gary Glitter Made £1million From Oasis Song 'Hello'?

Pop paedo Gary Glitter has raked in £1million of royalties after Oasis used a clip of one of his hits, it was claimed last night.

The shamed glam rocker will “continue to earn pots of cash for many years” from Oasis track Hello.

It is the opening song on (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? and includes the lyric ‘Hello, hello, it’s good to be back’, from Glitter’s 1973 hit Hello, Hello, I’m back again’.

The 1995 Oasis album has sold 22 million worldwide.

Glitter, 69 — real name Paul Gadd — gets a payment for each album sold, or when the song is played on the radio or internet.

He is entitled to the cash as he is still credited as the co-writer of Hello — despite receiving an estimated £200,000 for copyright infringement after taking legal action against Oasis in 1999.

Music lawyer Craig Brookes said Hello could have earned Glitter £1million — on top of £300,000 a year or more from royalties linked to his back catalogue of songs.

He said: “It’s distasteful, but sadly he is legally entitled to the money — despite being an awful human being.” Glitter was jailed for four months in 1999 for downloading child porn. In 2006, he was caged in Vietnam for molesting two girls. He served almost three years.

He was also quizzed by cops investigating paedophile Jimmy Savile. Last night the Performing Rights Society said it would continue to collect royalties for Glitter, one of its members.

Noel Gallagher And Damon Albarn Are “Like Best Mates Now”

Former Britpop adversaries Noel Gallagher and Damon Albarn are best buddies now, according to Blur bassist Alex James.

Speaking to Irish radio host Ray D'Arcy, Alex James said: "Ironically Noel and Damon are like best mates now. They go off and smoke cigars together. I think we realised we we're all on the same side eventually."

Damon and Noel had a rather rocky relationship (to put it lightly) in the 90s, as they were both the figureheads of Blur and Oasis respectively, two of the largest bands in the UK at the time. Noel famously said that he hoped Damon would "catch AIDs and die", and Damon accused both Noel and his brother Liam Gallagher of being bullies. However, the pair have buried the hatchet and even joined each other onstage earlier this year for a performance of Blur's 'Tender' - although Noel couldn't do so without getting one last dig in, saying that he only offered to join in because the song was "easy to play on guitar".

James also spoke of Blur's break up and subsequent reunion, saying: "It was 2003 when Blur really kind of stopped. And it had been 15 years of us doing the same thing, just the four of us. That's a long time. I think we just all needed to go off and do other things. We've all worked with other people. So when we come back to play together I think we do it just because we want to – there's no pressure… It's actually the best thing we ever did, splitting up."

He continued: "Back in 2009 when we got back together, they were the best shows we'd ever done. And I think we all thought that was a good place to leave it, maybe. Then we got the call to do this big show last summer to mark the end of the Olympics and I think we all felt we can’t really say no to that. It's such an honour to be asked. And it was so brilliant, we thought what's not to like?"

Parlour Flames Interview

This summer’s Nozstock festival will almost be a homecoming gig for Vinny Perculiar.

Vinny Perculiar is the pseudonym for Alan Wilkes, a singer-songwriter and poet who has been based in Manchester for nearly twenty years.

But Vinny, who has worked with former band members of the Smiths, Aztec Camera and The Fall, was born in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire. He has famously been christened as the “Tony Hancock of Pop” by Uncut Magazine, and has regularly appeared at Glastonbury. Growing up, Perculiar was influenced by not only music artists such as David Bowie, David Burn and Roxy Music, but also writers such as Charles Bukowski and Jack Kerouac.

Noel Gallagher Meets Up With Russell Brand And Morrissey In LA

Russell Brand should have guessed what he’d be in for meeting up with Noel Gallagher and Morrissey.

He tweeted this snap on a night out in LA, and wrote: “Victimized by heroes. Me with Moz and Noel G. Quite badly bullied.”

Russell Brand Would Want A 'Taxidermied Noel Gallagher' On Desert Island

Russell Brand has told BBC Radio 4's Desert Island Discs programme that if he were to become stranded he'd want a stuffed Noel Gallagher as his luxury item.

When asked by presenter Kirsty Young what item he’d want with him to make his life more bearable, Brand asked: "You can't take a person, can you? I can't take Noel Gallagher as a luxury item, as a minstel?" Young replied: "You could take him stuffed." Brand then said: "That’s the perfect thing. I'd like a taxidermied Noel Gallagher, perhaps somehow misrepresented – like wearing one of Liam’s jackets."

Later he added: "I've got my stuffed Noel Gallagher to worship and dress up, if I want to. I can do what I like to him. It’ll be a mockery of that man on that island."
