2025: The Year Oasis Took Over Vinyl (And Our Wallets)

If you've wandered into a record store lately or browsed the Official Oasis Store, chances are your vinyl collection is quietly (or not-so-quietly) growing. One thing's certain 2025 has been huge for vinyl. And if you're an Oasis fan? It's been absolutely wild.

So far this year, Oasis have unleashed 29 separate vinyl releases, amounting to a staggering 87 individual records. We're not just talking album titles these are actual slabs of wax, from anniversary editions and colour variants to deluxe box sets and 7-inch singles.

And here’s the kicker: the year isn’t over yet.

If you’re trying to stay on top of it all, owning every release so far (including CDs) would set you back around £1700, with further rumoured drops on the horizon.

But Wait There’s More...

Vinyl hasn’t been the only format getting love this year. Alongside all the wax, Oasis has also rolled out numerous CD reissues, deluxe editions, and box sets, many packed with bonus tracks, remastered audio, collectible packaging, and exclusive content.

From album releases to comprehensive anniversary box sets, it's clear the band is celebrating their legacy across all formats not just for the crate diggers, but also for long-time fans who prefer the classic CD experience or want it all.

So whether you're spinning records or slotting in shiny discs, 2025 has offered something for every kind of Oasis collector.

Final Thoughts

For fans and collectors, 2025 has been a dream (and a challenge). Whether you're cherry-picking your favourites or trying to grab every last limited edition, Oasis has delivered a year packed with nostalgia, celebration, and no shortage of spending temptation.

And with rumours still swirling like a potential (What's the Story) Morning Glory? 'Cigarette Box' 4x7” edition and I wouldn't be surprised if we get something for the lucrative Christmas market.

We may not be at the end of the road just yet.

Supersonic Radio Celebrates 30 Years Of What’s the Story (Morning Glory?) And The Return Of Oasis

Supersonic Radio celebrates 30 years of What’s the Story (Morning Glory?) and the return of Oasis.

As Oasis reunite for their long-awaited 2025 world tour, Melbourne creator Sam Menhennet is celebrating the band’s legacy in a brand-new music documentary podcast series, Supersonic Radio.

Blending storytelling, archival clips, and the music that defined a generation, Supersonic Radio retraces Oasis’ rise from the suburbs of Burnage to Britpop superstardom — and explores why their story still resonates three decades later.

Episode 1 — “Definitely Not, Maybe”

The debut episode dives into the making of Definitely Maybe, capturing the raw hunger and chaos that launched Oasis into the spotlight. From the Gallagher brothers’ early days in Manchester to that fateful night at King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut, Sam weaves in interview clips and the songs that defined a movement.

It’s an immersive look at how Definitely Maybe became a rallying cry for a new generation of British rock fans — and how, even in 1994, the band’s ambition was already sky-high.

Episode 2 — “What’s the Story?”

Coinciding with the 30th anniversary of Oasis’s landmark album What’s the Story (Morning Glory?), the second episode takes listeners inside the sessions at Rockfield Studios in Wales, where the band — newly joined by drummer Alan White — transformed from cult heroes into global icons.

Featuring stories of chaos, creativity, and the infamous Britpop battle with Blur, this chapter explores how Oasis captured the sound of a decade. From the introspective Cast No Shadow to the anthemic highs of Wonderwall, Don’t Look Back in Anger, and Champagne Supernova, it’s a vivid snapshot of a band at their peak.

Richard Ashcroft On Bucket Hats, “Bitter Sweet Symphony”, And How Liam Gallagher Got Him Involved On The Oasis Tour

A few questions taken from an interview with Richard Ashcroft from gq-magazine.co.uk

How were the last two Oasis shows at Wembley in September?

I think [they were some] of the best, actually, because I’m a bit old school; I like playing in the dark. And in the dark, certainly at Wembley, you can really get a sense of the scale of the event from the stage. There [was] the odd moment where I thought, “Wow, it’s pretty momentous to be singing a song and almost have the whole stadium with me.” Because generally people are waiting for the thing they paid for and, yes, there’s polite applause, but there isn’t that.

What was the process of you becoming the main UK support act?

The person who really laid it down, with all these different lists of people they had, was Liam, and then Noel agreed. If Liam hadn’t mentioned it, I wouldn't have been doing it; God knows who’d have been doing it. [Liam told me], “We’re getting all these people saying they’ll do it for free”, and I’m like, “I ain’t doing it for free.” Because whoever [supported Oasis] in America, I know damn well it won’t have been like what it was like for us in England. We are connected historically; our stories interweave. It’s quite a gift that Oasis gave me. Noel and Liam have given me an opportunity to reintroduce myself to a lot of people. [And] I’m really happy for them. Because those intervening years [of their feuding], it got a bit uncomfortable, as someone looking in.

They supported The Verve back in 1994, right?

I heard [Oasis] and wanted them to support us. Then Definitely Maybe came out and they were pretty big almost instantaneously, and we, The Verve, would support them. I think Noel saw it as, “Well, I’ve got an opportunity to put these freaky psychedelic guys on.” I’m not sure he expected me to then go and write the songs I did. Two bands, two Transit vans, and a bit of a toilet tour of the UK. The likelihood of one of them doing really well is slim. The likelihood of two, and the songs that came out of that – it’s pretty amazing.
