
Fans have reacted in an enormously positive manner to Noel Gallagher's debut single 'The Death Of You And Me', which you can hear by scrolling down to the bottom of the page and clicking.
The track, which is the first to be revealed from the former Oasis guitarist's debut solo album 'Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds', was debuted this morning and has had fans heaping praise on it ever since.
NME.com user Ahmed Salem loved it, saying he believed that Noel had stolen all of brother Liam's thunder with Beady Eye, he wrote: "Better than Beady Eye's entire album. I wouldn't want to be Liam at the moment."
Tom Wells loved it too, he wrote: "The Chief has come back with what is arguably one of his best songs ever!" Chris Kinloch felt the same, he wrote: "Liam just had the smile blown off his face. Beady Eye is now revealed as being totally shit in comparison now. Welcome back Noel."
Will Whitby felt the same, he wrote: "I missed this sound so much! Pure perfection", while Alexandre Duvauchelle wrote on NME's Facebook page Facebook.com/nmemagazine: "Great song! I've been waiting for that for so much time and I'm not disappointed at all! Noel rules." Jade Wong did the same, simply writing: "Love it."
A few users compared the song to Oasis's 2005 single 'The Importance Of Being Idle', but didn't see this as a bad thing.
Jamie Baker wrote of this: "Sounds 'Importance of Being Idley'' which definitely isn't a bad thing as that's one of his best songs!" Jason Murphy agreed, he wrote: "Top notch. Very 'Importance Of Being Idle' if that makes sense. Love the sound and production. Looking forward to the album!"
