When it emerged that arty producer Dave Sitek was overseeing Liam Gallagher’s second post-Oasis effort, eyebrows were raised.
But the first Beady Eye album was so patchy that even Liam admitted it didn’t work – and getting Dave in has transformed them.
Liam actually sounds like he wants to be a singer again, and Dave’s experiments make for great psychedelic tunes.
Mystical chant Iz Rite is a highlight along with Face The Crowd, Liam’s best shouty rocker since Lyla.
Not everything works – there’s one too many ballads – but it proves Liam’s strongest when people are doubting him.
An album to BE proud of.
