Oasis have paid tribute to a man in his forties who tragically plunged to death during their Wembley Stadium show on Saturday night.
Their full statement read: “We are shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic death of a fan at the show last night. Oasis would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the person involved.”
One fan took to X to write: "As an Oasis fan, this feels like losing one of our own. Thinking of his family at such a tragic time.”
Another wrote: "You never expect something so awful to happen at a gig. My heart goes out to everyone who knew him."
Someone else echoed: "We all went there to sing our hearts out and have a good night. I can’t stop thinking about what happened. Rest in peace.”
"I’m absolutely heartbroken. He went out for what should have been one of the best nights of his life, singing along to the band he loved, surrounded by thousands of people who share that same passion and he never made it home. You just never think something like this will happen at a gig. My thoughts are with his family and friends. As an Oasis fan myself, it feels like we’ve lost one of our own. Rest in peace, mate," another Oasis fan shared.
Officers have also asked fellow concert attendees to come forward if they have any information about the fall.
“The stadium was busy, and we believe it is likely a number of people witnessed the incident, or may knowingly or unknowingly have caught it on mobile phone video footage,” they said.
“If you have any information that could help us to confirm what happened, please call 101.”
