Supersonic Radio Celebrates 30 Years Of What’s the Story (Morning Glory?) And The Return Of Oasis

Supersonic Radio celebrates 30 years of What’s the Story (Morning Glory?) and the return of Oasis.

As Oasis reunite for their long-awaited 2025 world tour, Melbourne creator Sam Menhennet is celebrating the band’s legacy in a brand-new music documentary podcast series, Supersonic Radio.

Blending storytelling, archival clips, and the music that defined a generation, Supersonic Radio retraces Oasis’ rise from the suburbs of Burnage to Britpop superstardom — and explores why their story still resonates three decades later.

Episode 1 — “Definitely Not, Maybe”

The debut episode dives into the making of Definitely Maybe, capturing the raw hunger and chaos that launched Oasis into the spotlight. From the Gallagher brothers’ early days in Manchester to that fateful night at King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut, Sam weaves in interview clips and the songs that defined a movement.

It’s an immersive look at how Definitely Maybe became a rallying cry for a new generation of British rock fans — and how, even in 1994, the band’s ambition was already sky-high.

Episode 2 — “What’s the Story?”

Coinciding with the 30th anniversary of Oasis’s landmark album What’s the Story (Morning Glory?), the second episode takes listeners inside the sessions at Rockfield Studios in Wales, where the band — newly joined by drummer Alan White — transformed from cult heroes into global icons.

Featuring stories of chaos, creativity, and the infamous Britpop battle with Blur, this chapter explores how Oasis captured the sound of a decade. From the introspective Cast No Shadow to the anthemic highs of Wonderwall, Don’t Look Back in Anger, and Champagne Supernova, it’s a vivid snapshot of a band at their peak.
