Director Confirms Extensive Prep Behind Oasis' 'Live '25' Tour

Oasis’ video director has disclosed that the band's 'Live '25' reunion tour was quietly in development for 14 months hinting that the project involved "a lot of well kept secrets".

According to the director Jon Shrimpton, rehearsals for the long anticipated shows kicked off in May with Liam Gallagher joining the rest of the group in June as preparations intensified.

The production grew significantly as the tour progressed. At the Manchester Heaton Park concerts the stage screens measured 84 metres by 12 metres around 20 metres wider than those used at the opening dates in Cardiff. Shrimpton noted that these were the largest screens ever installed at a UK concert.

Shrimpton shared a series of behind-the-scenes clips and reflections on his private Instagram, it was posted and verified by NME.COM confirming that the tours groundwork stretched back well over a year.

"And just like that... it was over" he wrote posting footage from his time on the road. "After 14 months of preparation, plenty of carefully guarded surprises, and five months witnessing some of the most spectacular visuals and performances I've ever seen in a stadium, we've reached the end."

Describing the experience as "a true career highlight" Shrimpton said he felt privileged to serve as video director on such a major moment in the band's history.

"Travelling around the world, in the eye of the storm. I’ve been genuinely honoured to work with the most incredible, talented, ego-free, happy crew that has ever been assembled, and there’s been nothing but love from everything I’ve seen written about the show…. even in the British press".
