Liam Gallagher Says He Would Rather Kick Back On The Sofa Than Party With Stars

Liam Gallagher has vowed to always shun the celebrity champagne circuit, saying: “I’ve been to them parties… you only fool me once.”

The singer, who revels in his jack-the-lad reputation, says he would rather kick back on the sofa than party with stars.

He said: “The amount of parties I’ve turned down. I turn them down constantly. It was full of k**bheads in the Nineties, now it’s full of k**bheads with cameras on their phones. I’d rather stay in.”

The ex- Oasis frontman says brother Noel – who celebrated his 50th in May with stars including Madonna and Bono – is “lost in a celebrity world.”

Noel is to headline the reopening of the IS-bombed Manchester Arena next month alongside pop star Rick Astley.

Liam, 44, performing tomorrow night in Japan, said: “I’m loving singing, I’m not here for celebrity. I’ve done all that nonsense.

“I’ve seen through it. I’m just here to play some gigs, and try to turn the next rock ’n’ roll kids on to it. I’ve no time for partying with Brad Pitt.

“I’m sure he’s a nice guy and throws a great party, but I’m not interested. I want to do my gigs and try and muster up feelings for the youth to carry the torch on.

“That’s what it’s about. It’s time to build rock up from the bottom again.”

The singer added: “I don’t think I was seduced by celebrity. But I definitely like going to nice places to eat.”

Liam Gallagher On Who Should Play Him In An Oasis Film

Liam Gallagher has revealed who should play him in an Oasis film – and it's someone from Coronation Street.

Well, you don't expect a predictable answer from the Oasis frontman, do you?

In a recent, expletive-fuelled, chat with Radio X, Gallagher colourfully revealed the ideal actor to play him in a film of his life.

He said: "Let me tell you I’d like to play me man. I’m being f***ing serious here now. I f***ing, I tell you who I would like to play me man. And obviously they’re all gonna go for fit people like Brad Pitt or Johnny Depp and that.  F*** that, man."

Brace yourselves for Gallagher's inspoired choice...

Liam said: "Stan Ogden. He f***ing gets me man. Stan Ogden gets me..."

It turns out Liam isn't just a fan of Stan, played by Bernard Youens, his legendary on-screen wife also factors into the decision.

Liam added: "And you’ve got the f***ing bird, like Hilda’s just gone like that, ‘Stanley!’ in his f*cking socks.  Just a guy just be pretending to be deaf. Just going, "What? Who? What? Just f***ing let it all hang out, mate. Stan Ogden. Just didn’t give a f*** mate."

Youens played Stan for 20 years, until his death in 1984. Jean Alexander played the iconic Hilda until she left the show in 187, although she returned for a one-off in 1990.

Noel Gallagher's Has Been Approached To Make A Movie About Oasis

Noel Gallagher has been approached by a studio to make a film about Oasis.

The band's former guitarist - who has barely spoken to brother Liam since their group split in 2009 - has revealed that he is considering the offer.

Speaking at The Weinstein Company BAFTA after party on Sunday (16.02.14), he told The Sun newspaper: ''People have seriously approached me about that.

''It's something that's very strange but very tempting.

''If it means I get to come here and watch Brad Pitt eat a bit of salmon then I'll make a film a year if I can.''

The 46-year-old musician, who attended the event at London's Rosewood Hotel with his wife Sara, wants actor Michael Fassbender to take the lead role in the new film but didn't specify whether he would want the star to play himself or brother Liam, 41.

The 'Wonderwall' hitmaker claims the working title for the film is '20 Years A Geezer'.

Although he complained about the music at the Weinstein party, calling it ''utter s***e'', Noel had fun rubbing shoulders with Hollywood stars.

He was seen chatting to Bradley Cooper during dinner at The Grosvenor House Hotel before the awards and actress Emma Thompson gave him a huge hug.

Meanwhile, Liam is set to hold castings in Los Angeles for a new Beatles film and has convinced Michael Winterbottom to direct the movie about the band's company Apple Corps and the break-up of the group.

Liam Gallagher is set to hold castings in Los Angeles for a new Beatles film and wants Jared Leto and Ethan Hawke to audition.

Liam Gallagher is set to hold castings in Los Angeles for a new Beatles film.

The Beady Eye frontman wants Jared Leto and Ethan Hawke to star in the movie and has convinced Michael Winterbottom to direct the film about The Beatles' company Apple Corps and the break-up of the group.

A source told The Sun newspaper: ''Liam is going to hold castings in the US in April. A lot of the lead roles are American, so he's keen to find the right names.

''He knows he's not going to manage to entice someone like Brad Pitt but he wants high-calibre people who are more on the indie scene of Hollywood. He thinks actors such as Jared and Ethan would be perfect.''

The former Oasis lead singer, who split from his own band in 2009 after a huge fist-fight with brother and bandmate Noel, is the executive producer of The Longest Cocktail Party and is currently looking for someone to fund his movie.

The source said the 41-year-old star aims to follow in the footsteps of late Beatles guitarist George Harrison, whose company HandMade Films produced hit movies 'Monty Python's Life Of Brian' and 'The Long Good Friday'.

The Beatles - also made up of Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and the late John Lennon - made their first debut on US TV 50 years ago and stars gathered for a special tribute show last month at The Los Angeles Convention Centre.

The group formed in Liverpool in 1960 and split in 1970 after Paul said he was quitting the band.

Noel Gallagher Surprises Diners At Birmingham Balti House

Diners at a Birmingham balti house were given a surprise taste of celebrity stardom when Oasis and High Flying Birds star Noel Gallagher popped in for a curry.

The guitarist and song-writer was in Birmingham on Sunday night after performing at the T in the Park Festival in Scotland on Saturday.

His party of eight called in to the Kababish Restaurant in Moseley - which has previously hosted Muhammad Ali - at around 8.30pm.

Although the restaurant was quiet at the time, owner Saj Shafique said it wasn't long until news of Gallagher's appearance filtered through to the Patrick Kavanagh pub next door.

Mr Shafique, who had his picture taken with the rock star, said: "Noel's got this reputation of being a bit grumpy but he wasn't like that at all.

"A few of the guests in the restaurant and some of the people from the pub next door were mingling about to try and get a photo with him.

"He was just one of the lads and spent a few minutes posing with people for the small crowd."

Gallagher, whose Oasis Jug of Ale 1994 gig features in the Birmingham Mail's top ten best ever Birmingham gigs - ordered a Balti Mix Jalfrezi.

His party stayed at the restaurant until about 11pm.

Farooq Mohammed, one of the partner's who own the restaurant, added: "Noel called ahead to let us know he was coming so we could make some arrangements for him.

"He was a really nice guy and had a chat with some of the staff when he went out for a cigarette.

"Apparently Kerrang Radio recommended that he tried us and we were obviously delighted to host him."

Gallagher's appearance in Moseley comes just two week's after Hollywood star Brad Pitt was spotted a few miles down the road in Hall Green.
