Oasis, The Killers, The Beatles And More Voted To Have Weirdest Song Lyrics

The Killers fought off competition from the likes of Black Eyed Peas and Taylor Swift in a competition to find the song with the weirdest lyric.

A survey suggests the line, "are we human or are we dancer?" in the song Human is the most confusing.

Carly Rae Jepsen's Call Me Maybe placed fifth with the lyric: "Before you came into my life, I missed you so bad".

The top 10 also included Michael Jackson's Earth Song and Champagne Supernova by Oasis.

The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers previously revealed the lyric in Human was based on a quote from the author Hunter S. Thompson, "we're raising a generation of dancers".

"I took it and ran," Brandon said. "I guess it bothers people that it's not grammatically correct, but I think I'm allowed to do whatever I want."

The research was carried out by online streaming service Blinkbox Music, which questioned 2,000 adults.

Managing director Mark Bennett said: "It's true that song lyrics are sometimes as crazy as a box of frogs, but then that's show business. It would be a really boring world if everything was logical and made sense."

Almost two-fifths of those surveyed said they do not usually understand the words they hear in pop songs.

The Top 10

01: The Killers, Human "Are we human, or are we dancer?"

02: The Beatles, I Am The Walrus "I am the eggman, they are the eggmen, I am the walrus, goo goo g' joob."

03: Michael Jackson, Earth Song "What about elephants? Have we lost their trust?"

04: Lionel Richie, All Night Long "Tom bo li de se de moi ya, yeah jambo jambo."

05: Carly Rae Jepsen, Call Me Maybe "Before you came into my life, I missed you so bad."

06: Black Eyed Peas, Boom Boom Pow "Beats so big I'm stepping on leprechauns."

07: Duran Duran, The Reflex "The reflex is an only child, he's waiting in the park."

08: Wham! Club Tropicana "Club Tropicana, drinks are free, fun and sunshine, there's enough for everyone, all that's missing is the sea."

09: Taylor Swift, Love Story -"Cause you were Romeo, I was a scarlet letter, and my daddy said stay away from Juliet."

10: Oasis, Champagne Supernova "Slowly walking down the hall, faster than a cannonball."

Liam And Noel Gallagher Are One Of The Most Stylish Rock Stars

Noel Gallagher has beaten his brother Liam to the title of Most Stylish Rock Star.

The guitarist - who quit Oasis in 2009 - has topped a poll to find the best dressed rocker, and even though Beady Eye singer Liam has his own Pretty Green fashion line he could only make fifth spot.

Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner - who headlines Glastonbury this weekend - came second, Kasabian axe man made third place, while Miles Kane, famous for his sharp suits and Mod style, finished fourth.

The British poll was carried out by designer menswear store www.stuartslondon.com.
Ravi Grewal, owner of Stuarts London, said: ''It's good to see that musicians are still looked up to when it comes to their fashion choices.

And it seems smartly dressed rockers like Gallagher, Turner and Pizzorno have overtaken scruffy rockers

''Alex Turner has experimented with different looks, from his early days in Barracuta jackets to his rocker image today, but he always pulls them off perfectly.

''Liam and Miles both gave him a run for his money in the poll, and either would have been great choices as winners - their styles mix statement pieces like Liam's leopard print shoes or Miles's flashy suits, with classic wardrobe staples.''

Other notable entrants in the top 10 included 'Lightning Bolt' singer Jake Bugg in at number seven, while sharply dressed Brandon Flowers, whose band The Killers headlined their first ever Wembley Stadium show last weekend, came in at number eight.
The 'Modfather' Paul Weller rounded off the top 10.

Liam and his band Beady Eye - who just released new album 'BE' - are set to play a surprise set at the Glastonbury music festival which kicks on Friday (28.06.13)

Brandon Flowers: Liam Gallagher Sang 'Glamorous Indie Rock And Roll' To Me

The Killers were ''buzzing'' at their first ever photoshoot.

The 'Runaway' rockers say the reality they were becoming famous hit them when they first worked with a professional photographer.

Drummer Ronnie Vannucci said: ''It was our first official photoshoot. We were buzzing at the fact we had a guy with a professional camera in front of us that had an accent.

''We still had jobs, we were working then, so it's f***ing exciting to have somebody come and take pictures of your band and talk about your music and then clock in at the same time. We did that a lot.''

Before the Las Vegas band - which also includes frontman Brandon Flowers, Dave Keuning on guitar and Mark Stoermer on bass - knew it they were mingling with stars like Pet Shop Boys and Liam and Noel Gallagher.

Frontman Brandon Flowers recalled being at British magazine NME's awards show, saying: ''Noel Gallagher and Liam Gallagher were there.

''New Order played 'Crystal' and dedicated it to The Killers because we took our name from that song. Liam and Noel were both nice to me, and I'd been afraid of them because of the way they project in interviews. Liam sang [our track] 'Glamorous Indie Rock and Roll' to me.''

Not known for his love of photographers, the Manchester-born rock star finished his band's set on Saturday by jumping into the pit to tell stunned snappers: "You take a mean photograph."

The Killers' lead singer Brandon Flowers and Irish actress Saoirse Ronan were among those spotted enjoying the Beady Eye set.

He speaks highly of Noel and Liam...

The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers has paid tribute to Oasis, who split last year.

The singer told Shortlist magazine the Manchester band didn't need to reform because “they've already left their mark”.

Flowers also said he had been “lucky” when meeting Oasis brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher in the past.

“They've made some good music so that's good enough for me,” Flowers replied when asked if he hoped the band would ever reform.

“I've met [Noel and Liam] and they've been kind to me. I'm one of the lucky ones.”

Flowers is currently promoting his debut solo album 'Flamingo', which topped the UK album chart earlier this month.

Brandon Flowers Urges Oasis To Reunite

The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers is urging warring Oasis brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher to put their feud behind them for the sake of their fans.

Guitarist Noel quit the band on Friday night after a vicious fight with Liam backstage at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris, France. Noel later explained his decision, revealing he had suffered "verbal and violent intimidation," and insisting the atmosphere in the group had become "intolerable."

The star's departure has thrown the band's future into doubt and The Killers singer Flowers is devastated by the news.

He is convinced the brothers should try to work through their issues so they can continue working together.

He says, "(It's) such a shame. They were a great band, iconic. The brothers should deal with their problems. The ones who pay are the fans."
