Noel Gallagher On Album Track 'It's A Beautiful World'

Noel Gallagher was speaking to Chris Moyles on Radio X in an interview that was broadcast this morning, this is what he had to say about 'It's A Beautiful World'.

“That is gonna blow people away. There's someone singing and speaking in French on it, and it ain't me. It’s a lovely girl called Charlotte. If push comes to shove, it’s my favourite track on the album, I think. Because it's just so out there.

“Beautiful World is not really a song about how beautiful the world is, it's a sarcastic song about how beautiful the world is. The video that I've made for it already should say a lot about it. There are some great remixes of it by Andrew Weatherall and Mike Pickering and Graeme Park. Andy's done this real deep, acid rock version of it, and Mike and Graeme have done this Haçienda classic version of it - I was listening to it the other day, actually, and it's incredible. It sounds like Can, that's all I'm saying, the German band, Can.”

Noel Gallagher On Album Track 'Keep On Reaching'

Noel Gallagher was speaking to Chris Moyles on Radio X in an interview that was broadcast this morning, this is what he had to say about 'Keep On Reaching'.

He said “Keep on Reaching sounds like Sly Stone, Marvin Gaye. I'm gonna have to get quite a few backing singers on stage to sing it with me. Honestly, I don’t know how I managed to do it - it sounds like Marvin Gaye. David was saying, ‘When did you sound like Marvin Gaye? I was like, I don’t know, I don’t even know if I’m going to be able to do it live. You know you’ve got a good album when that’s not even going to be a single.”

More On Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds 'Holy Mountain'

Noel Gallagher was speaking to Chris Moyles on Radio X in an interview that was broadcast this morning, this is what he had to say about 'Holy Mountain'.

“Holy Mountain is about your nearest and dearest, yeah. How it came about was, one of the first sessions we did, the hook line, the tin whistle thing that is like one of the most catchiest things in the world, is a sample from a track by a brilliantly titled band from the 70s called The Ice Cream, and a track called Chewing Gum Kid, don't try and Google it, it's beyond obscure, you'll never find it...

“So, we listened to that track, and he said, "D'you like this?" And I was like, ‘Wow! Why have I never heard that before?’ So, we sampled that bit, and the thing, dee, do, do, do... that just went round and round. I worked out the chords, did a bit of jamming on it and we put a drum machine on it…

“David said, ‘D’you think this will make it on the album?’ And I went, ‘Mate, this is gonna be the first single. If it kills me, I am gonna finish this song’.

Because there's so much joy in that track. My kids love it, it's already a playground anthem in Notting Hill. My kids love it, and all my mates' kids love it. When you hear it, by the second time you hear it, the thing's stuck in your head, and it becomes slightly annoying, I must say, but it's brilliant!”

How Yoko Ono Inspired Liam Gallagher's 'I've All I Need'

Liam Gallagher has told Radio X's Chris Moyles how a meeting with the icon influenced the lyrics on his I've All I Need track.

Liam Gallagher has revealed how a meeting with Yoko Ono 18 years ago inspired the lyrics on his new album.

In an interview with Radio X's Chris Moyles, the former Oasis frontman unveiled a world exclusive first play of I've All I Need, which is the last track on his debut record.

Talking about the track, he told Moyles: "I can tell you an interesting fact. There's a line in there that says 'I hibernate and sing/While gathering my wings'.

"I was over in New York once, and I got a call saying, 'Yoko wants to meet you,' and I'd just called my kid Lennon," recalled the Oasis man.

"We go in there. In the kitchen she invites me in, makes me a cup of tea and she's got this massive banner around the kitchen and I said, 'What does that mean?'

"She goes, 'Ah John asked the same question when we went to Japan to meet the parents.' Anyway it says, While i've been hibernating I've been gathering my wings. And it was when he'd stopped making music. So I thought, 'Write that down.'"

The rocker added: "Anyway, so years go by and I've been trying to get that into a song and could never get it in. And then it happened on that."

Liam Gallagher Thinks About Oasis Everyday

Liam Gallagher has told Radio X's Chris Moyles why he's proud some of his new music has an "Oasis-y" sound.

Liam Gallagher has re-affirmed his love for Oasis and revealed there's not a day that goes by he doesn't think about the band.

Speaking to Radio X's Chris Moyles about his debut solo album and his For What It's Worth single, the Manchester rocker said: "I reckon that's the most Oasis-y kind of song on the album, you know what I mean?

"You know, I’m proud to be in Oasis, I love Oasis, still do - not a day that goes by without thinking of it, you know what I mean? So it’s good to be making music of that calibre."

When Moyles commented that the band's Oasis songs will "never die," he agreed: "Never die, never die and we’re not getting back together and I haven’t seen our kid, before you ask..."

The Wall of Glass singer explained: "If none of us were making music then it would be a valid point, you know, going ‘come on, get the band back together’ and all that. But there’s two albums coming out here now that people like, you know what I mean.

"People like Noel, people like me, people hate Noel, people hate me, you know what I mean? So there’s a lot of good music coming from the Gallaghers at the moment."

In a very special new interview with Chris Moyles, the former Oasis man explained his fitness regime.

You can watch the clip here.

Liam said of running: "I fucking love it, man. Some days, when you’re hungover, you’re thinking, I can’t be arsed, but once you get out there, it’s the best thing ever. Everything just falls in to place."

"I run for about an hour. Up hills, down hills. I don’t time myself, I ain’t got one of them silly watches and I don’t listen to music. Just run, I’m like Forrest Gump, but cooler-looking."

Liam continued: "For me, it reshuffles the pack, I get back home and I go, 'Right, I’ve got to do that, he’s got to be fucking told’. When I haven’t run I’m like a neurotic fucking housewife, man.

"It’s all about the head, man. My head, you split that open, there’s a fucking 24 pack going on, you know what I mean? I’m not one of them lads that are looking skinny. I don’t wear skinny jeans so no need to be skinny. I certainly don’t want to be fucking six stone, you know what I mean?"

Liam Gallagher: On Being Bored For Four Years

The star claims his solo career was kick-started when girlfriend Debbie Gwyther told him: “You can’t sit in the pub all day”.

Liam Gallagher has been telling Radio X that he spent years doing nothing between the demise of his band Beady Eye and the launch of his solo career and that it was his girlfriend Debbie Gwyther who gave him the impetus to start performing again.

You can see Liam explain all in the clip here.

Beady Eye was Liam’s first post-Oasis project, featuring former bandmates Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock. They released two albums: Different Gear, Still Speeding in 2011 and BE in 2013, but after a final show in Japan in March of 2014, the group disbanded.

In a brand new interview with Chris Moyles, Liam claims: “There was four years of doing nothing, bored, no itinerary. I was fucking sitting in the house, scratching my arse, bored out of my mind.”

“Debbie was doing all the work, I was doing all the scratching. I’d try and make her stay off work, to hang out. She was just like, ‘Come on. You can’t sit in the fucking pub all day. Let’s do something’.”

“I started playing guitar, messing about, done a couple of tunes, played them to someone, someone likes them, they offered us a deal. I was meeting writers, coming back, going in the studio and then here we are today."

Liam Gallagher ""I Miss The Old Noel, Who Was A Bit Of A F**kin' Lad"

Liam Gallagher has let rip at brother Noel Gallagher once again, this time accusing him of selling out.

The former Oasis frontman has been frequently zinging his sibling in the press over the last few months, particularly after Noel's no-show at the recent One Love Manchester benefit concert.

However, it was Noel Gallagher's recent solo music with the High Flying Birds that raised the ire of Liam during an interview on Radio X's The Chris Moyles Show.

"I miss the old Noel, who was a bit of a f**kin' lad and that, and we had a laugh and all that," the singer complained.

"I'm not saying we should be the same person but he seems like he's after something else in life, man, and I don't know what it is. Seems very easily... I don't know, he's not like me."

When Chris asked whether Noel was simply settling down with age, Liam countered: "If that's the case then there's no place for rock and roll in that case. Because I'm not saying he should be like me and he should be going out doing what he's doing, because we all change and I've changed. I've definitely slowed down.

"I'm not saying you should be going out f**king gobbing on people and f**king swearing and shit like that or whatever it is that people think we are, but… I'm more on about the corporate side of it.

"He seems very, he's living in a world of, he's living over there in that world, you know what I mean, and there's no f**king room for Oasis in that world as far as I'm concerned. I'd rather f**king work in McDonald's mate or get hit by a f**king 18-wheeler at 100 miles an hour, than bring my band and put it in that world."

However, Liam was quick to admit that there is one area where he'll never be able to compare to brother Noel.

"I'm definitely not on his level [as a writer]," Liam said. "He's a far better songwriter than me, because he's been doing it for years.

"But I'm nowhere near. I'm not on his level, he's on a different level when it comes to songwriting, but as a singer, that's my gig man."

Liam Gallagher Would Rather f****** Work In McDonald’s Than Reunite Oasis Right Now

Liam Gallagher has said he would rather work in a fast food restaurant or get hit by a truck than reunite Oasis right now.

Gallagher said he wouldn’t allow the band to come together while he and his brother Noel are ‘living in different worlds’.

The 44-year-old said he misses the “old Noel who was a bit of a f****** lad” but that the High Flying Birds frontman is now “after something else in life.”

Speaking to Radio X’s Chris Moyles he said: “I’m not saying he should be like me and he should be going out doing what he’s doing, because we all change and I’ve changed, I’ve definitely slowed down.

“I’m not saying you should be going out f****** gobbing on people and f****** swearing and s*** like that or whatever it is that people think we are, but I’m more on about the corporate side of it.  He’s living over there in that world, you know what I mean, and there’s no f****** room for Oasis in that world as far as I’m concerned.

“I’d rather f****** work in McDonald’s mate or get hit by a f****** 18-wheeler at 100 miles an hour, than bring my band and put it in that world.”

The siblings have been feuding for years with Liam frequently targeting his brother with potato based insults on Twitter.

But despite their differences, Liam praised Noel for being a “far better songwriter” with “some really good strong songs.”

Asked whether Noel would be a fan of his upcoming album As You Were, he said: “I think he will dig it, without a doubt, and he’ll come out and say it like a good boy, you know what I mean?

“He’ll come out and go, ‘That’s a good f****** album’.  But deep down he’ll be f****** going ‘That little f*****’, you know what I mean?”

Liam Gallagher On Using Twitter

The former Oasis frontman also claims “there’s a lot of bollocks” on social media: “Apparently I’m a keen gardener.”

Liam Gallagher is one of the current kings of Twitter. He’s not only been using the social media platform to update his fans of his current activities and location, but he’s also regularly venting his spleen about just about anything.

In a very special new interview with Chris Moyles that was broadcast on Facebook Live tonight (Monday 7 August), Liam has explained that he loves Twitter:

“I enjoy it man, I mean it’s nice to put a few wrongs right, you know what I mean? And when people get a bit fucking mouthy about shit you just go, ‘No, this is what happened’.”

You can watch Liam talk about Twitter in the clip here.

Asked by Moyles if he reads replies from fans, Liam put the record straight: "I do reply to a few cocky little cunts, sometimes. There’s no point in doing it if you don’t. It’s craic ain’t it?”
Gallagher also warned that there was a lot of inaccurate nonsense floating around on social media - particularly about himself.

“The press or whoever they are,” he continued, “A lot of them they just talk absolute shit, you know what I mean? There is a lot of bollocks out there.

“I’m a church-goer, apparently. Me and God get a few things off our chest, man, every now and again.

“Apparently, I’m a fucking keen gardener as well. I got invited to go to the Chelsea fucking Flower show, because apparently, I’m into fucking flowers.

“I have a garden, but I’m not keen on it. I much prefer it be fucking paved. The minute I get some money in the bank there’ll be fucking concrete going over it.

“I’m a keen concreter.”

Liam Gallagher has been explaining to Radio X that he thinks his brother Noel will enjoy his first solo album, As You Were… but that the old sibling rivalry will continue to rear its ugly head.

You can see Liam explain all in our clip here.

In a very special new interview with Chris Moyles that was broadcast on Facebook Live tonight (Monday 7 August), Liam was asked if Noel had heard any of the new songs from the debut album, which is to be released in October.

Liam replied: “Oh yeah, of course he will have. And as a music lover he’ll like it. And he’ll come out and say it like a good boy. He’ll go, ‘That’s a good fucking album’. But deep down he’ll be fucking going, ‘That little fucker’, you know what I mean?

“I’m definitely not on his level, he’s a far better songwriter than me, because he’s been doing it for years. But as a singer, that’s my gig man.”
