Liam Gallagher On The Key To A Good Life

Wildman Liam Gallagher has stunned fans by telling them the key to a good life is “not drinking too much”.

The former Oasis frontman, 44, blamed his drug and drink-fuelled benders for causing the breakdown of his marriages to Pasty Kensit and Nicole Appleton.

And he urged fans to lay off the booze if they want to stay out of trouble.

He said: “I’ve made some howlers in my personal life, I’ve had a couple of marriages and hurt my kids and that.

“So personally, my advice would be don’t take too many drugs and don’t drink too much alcohol.

“You should stop that because that gets you in situations.

“But overall I’m quite happy with how it’s all gone and is going.

"I’m a good person and I’ve had a good life, rock‘n’roll has been very good to me.”

Liam, who fronted Oasis with brother Noel from the early 90s until their acrimonious split in 2009, became famous for his wild boozing.

But the star has calmed it down as he gets older so he can concentrate on his music.

He was back in action as he took to the stage at the weekend’s Reading and Leeds festivals.

The bad boy rocker left the crowd in good spirits by tweeting that his Leeds set was “up there if not better than” any Oasis gig.

But the goodwill didn’t last long, after the Mancunian star claimed that someone stole his sunglasses.

He later tweeted: “Rite to the c*** who robbed my shades backstage at reading I hope you die you c*** I guess it’s karma for stealing the show as you were LG x (sic)”

Liam Gallagher Backs Sons To Be Next Oasis

Liam Gallagher has backed his sons to start a band and become the next Oasis

The 44-year-old singer's 17-year-old son Lennon - Liam's child with first wife Patsy Kensit - can play guitar and has a great singing voice.

Lennon's 15-year-old half-brother Gene - whose mum is Liam's ex-wife Nicole Appleton - is a talented multi-instrumentalist and can play guitar and drums and Liam is backing them to following in his and his brother Noel's musical footsteps.

However, the 'Roll With It' hitmaker insists no matter what his kids may go on to achieve they'll never be able to match their dad's globe conquering group.

Speaking about Gene's talents at a screening for new Oasis documentary 'Supersonic', he told BANG Showbiz: "Geno's better than me man, I actually think he's a better drummer than guitarist, but as long as he's doing something creative that's OK I'm happy with that."

He added with a grin: "He and Lennon could do (start a band) if they wanted to, but they'll never be as good as Oasis!"

Proud dad Liam recently posted a photo of Gene playing guitar and pulling his best rock star pose on his Twitter account along with the words "get in there my son".

Previously discussing his sons' talents, Liam said: "I'd recommend life in a band to anyone. It's the best gig in the world, man. Gene is up in his room drumming every day. Oh, mate, he loves it. Lennon does guitar lessons and fancies himself as a bit of a singer ... Lennon's a massive Who fan. It's got nothing to do with me, he's just obsessed with 'Quadrophenia'."

Their cousins Sonny and Donavan - Noel's lads with spouse Sara Macdonald - are also being encouraged to get not music by the songwriter.

However, all the Gallagher kids rarely see each other due to Liam and Noel's ongoing feud which was sparked in 2009 when the guitarist quit Oasis.

And Noel, like Liam, wouldn't discourage his lads from starting a rock group together but he's not going to help them.

When once asked if he would advise against his sons Donovan and Sonny choosing his career path, Noel said: "No because we were f***ing great, you know what I mean. I don't know if you heard but we sold like 70 million f***ing albums. I can't teach anyone because I just kind of magicked it up. So my lad has got a drum kit in his bedroom and a guitar, I don't know what he's trying to do, both of them at the same time or something. He's also left-handed which is slightly annoying. My theory is that if we have musical instruments lying around the house then they will just pick them up. I don't say guitar lessons today from three until quarter past. If they do it they do it and if they don't they don't."

Liam Gallagher Is Considering Buying A Second Home In Italy

Rock star Liam Gallagher is reportedly considering buying a property in Italy.

Liam Gallagher is considering buying a property in Italy.

The 43-year-old rock star - who is currently finalising the financial terms of his divorce from second wife Nicole Appleton - has reportedly taken his girlfriend Debbie Gwyther on holiday to northern Italy and has apparently fallen in love with the surroundings.

A source shared: ''Liam fell in love with Italy. Everyone was so welcoming there and he had a great time with Debbie and their friends.

''They stayed in an incredible villa and Liam was thinking of buying a second home so he could divide his time between London and Italy.

''It would be a great place to take his kids on holidays and get away from it all. It all just depends on how it goes with the divorce settlement.''

Liam - who has son Lennon with first wife Patsy Kensit, son Gene with Nicole and children Molly and Gemma from previous relationships - has apparently also developed a keen interest in equestrianism.

The insider told the Daily Mirror newspaper: ''Liam has taken up horse riding and loves it. He finds it relaxing and it's a welcome distraction from everything that has been going on.''

Noel Gallagher Says Brother Liam Was Too Young For Fame

Noel Gallagher has said his brother Liam went "berserk" at the height of Oasis' fame because he was too young to handle it.

Speaking about Liam in an interview in The Times newspaper, Noel said: "At the age of 19 he left my mum's house, got on the train to London and moved in with Patsy Kensit. I still feel ... the word's not sorry for him, but with all the madness that went on in the 90s I could deal with it because I knew what it was like to be normal, and I was driving everything in an artistic way. People were asking Liam about songwriting in interviews and he didn't have a clue. I think that's why he went berserk."

He added "He's (Liam's) just one of those guys, and we all know them: the kind who couldn't care less if things are working or not because they're off sh***ing some bird. When I was growing up there was always some 50-year-old mod guy who swaggered up in the park and said, 'All right, knobheads?' That could have been Liam. He's not a grafter. He walks on air. He needs people like me, worrying about the amps sound and so on."

Jim Kerr Says Q Awards Missed 'Hellraiser' Liam Gallagher

According to Jim Kerr, the Simple Minds singer, the Q Awards missed the hellraising behaviour of Liam Gallagher.

Simple Minds singer Jim Kerr thinks the Q Awards missed the hellraising behaviour of Liam Gallagher.

The singer - who was previously married to Patsy Kensit, who was also Liam's wife at one stage - was thrilled to be at the ceremony at the Grosvenor House hotel in central London today (22.10.14), but admitted it would have been livened up by Liam's rock 'n' roll behaviour.

When asked why there are fewer misbehaving rock stars now, the 55-year-old star told BANG Showbiz: "We're missing Liam. We need him. These things go in cycles - this time next year they'll be someone coming over the horizon to turn up and do something."

In 2000, Robbie Williams walked out of the Q Awards after a slanging match with Liam.

When urged to kick-start the bad behaviour at this year's ceremony, Jim laughed: "Are you reverting to typecast because we're from Glasgow? Look we certainly know how to get a party started. When you're younger you certainly do, we were barely out of school when we got a record deal. We were very much like kids in a candy store."

Jim hopes the singer brings out more music soon, whether with his band Beady Eye or through a new endeavour, because he is a big fan of the rocker.

He said: "I've no idea what Liam should do next but I'm a fan, I think he's a great frontman and I'm always curious as to what he is doing. You don't get to be that popular without having something."

Jim and his Simple Minds bandmates were honoured with the Q Inspiration Award, presented to them by Manic Street Preachers frontman James Dean Bradfield.

The singer was proud to receive the accolade and revealed the band have never lost their hunger for music during their near 40-year career.

He said: "Its cause were still into it, we've never woke up and felt, 'There's nothing else to do.'

"We still want to be a better live band, we still want to write better songs. I suppose it's obvious you've got to get on and you've to get through the good times and the bad."

Embarrassing Dad Liam Gallagher

Liam Gallagher's kids are embarrassed by him.

The Beady Eye frontman - who has sons Lennon, 13, with first wife Patsy Kensit, and Gene, 11, by second spouse Nicole Appleton - thinks he is a cool dad, but admits the boys now ''sneak off'' so they don't have to be seen in his company, and he has now realised even their friends aren't impressed by his rock star status.

He said: ''It's got to the stage where my kids sneak off and go, 'You're not walking with me man.' I'm like, 'Hey, I'm a f***ing cool dad!' 'No you're not.' 'I f***ing am. All your mates think I'm cool anyway...' 'They think you're a bit of a d**k actually' It seems I've got a lot of work to do.''

Liam recently got into an altercation with 'The Wire' actor Idris Elba, and he claims he will still confront people for the sake of his sons.

He explained to Q magazine: ''I'm a bit more chilled but I wouldn't say I've changed drastically. I was out the other week, off me f***ing kecks and I didn't think, 'Oh I better not have this fight with this big fella here because I've got my kid at home.' I was like, 'F***ing hit him for your kid. This guy's taking the p**s out of his dad!' ''

Uncle Liam Gallagher Celebrates Nieces 13th Birthday In Style

He famously has a very tumultuous relationship with his brother and Oasis bandmate Noel Gallagher.

But it seems Liam Gallagher is happy to put any animosity between the pair behind him for the sake of Noel’s daughter Anais.

The famous musician was spotted taking his niece and her mother Meg Mathews for lunch on Sunday to help her celebrate her 13th birthday.

The unlikely dinner companions were joined by Liam’s wife Nicole Appleton, their son Gene and Liam’s eldest son Lennon Francis from his first marriage with Patsy Kensit.

Noel Gallagher didn't appear to be have joined them for the family occasion.

The group, which also seemed to include two of the birthday girl’s friends, happily posed for pictures outside Lemonia, a family-run Greek restaurant in Primrose Hill.

Liam’s two sons both opted for bright coloured trousers to help their cousin see in her birthday, while the rest of the family opted for rock ‘n’ roll inspired outfits.

Meg, who split from Noel over a decade ago, was the only member of the group who wore light colours wearing an interesting striped shirt and trousers combo which looked like they had been inspired by pyjamas.

In 2000 Noel and Liam famously fell out after Liam made a derogatory remark about Noel’s then wife Meg, reportedly questioning whether Anais was his legitimate daughter.

The row was just the first of many for the brothers and in 2005 Noel said: ‘He’s my brother but he’s at arm’s length until he apologises for what he’s done.’

In 2009 Noel alleged that Liam came after him with a guitar ‘like an axe’ while the band were in Paris, resulting in Oasis splitting up.

That same year, Liam said:  ‘It takes more than blood to be my brother. He doesn’t like me and I don’t like him.’

But now it looks like Liam is extending an olive branch to his brother by taking Anais out for her birthday and it’s clear Meg has no hard feelings towards the rocker.

Anais is signed to leading model agency Select and last year her mother Meg shared a snap of her taken by famous photographer Mario Testino.

Since splitting with his brother and the rest of Oasis, Liam appears to have mellowed somewhat and has been spending his time on his clothing range Pretty Green.

Quiet Liam Gallagher

Photographer Lorenzo Agius has revealed shooting Liam Gallagher and his then-partner Patsy Kensit for the cover of Vanity Fair magazine in 1997 did not go as he had expected.

Liam Gallagher 'couldn't handle' being pictured at the height of his fame. Renowned photographer Lorenzo Agius shot the Oasis singer and his then-partner Patsy Kensit for the cover of Vanity Fair magazine in 1997, and has revealed the musician was much quieter than he had expected.

He said: 'At that point he was at his most rebellious and angry and was annoyed with anyone fussing around him. He couldn't handle it.' Lorenzo - who was also behind the famous black and white publicity images for gritty 1996 movie 'Trainspotting' - is famous for convincing famous people to pose in unusual situations.

His shot of Liam, 36, and Patsy - who married in 1997 but divorced in 2000, and have nine-year-old son Lennon together - saw Liam reclining on a bed while Patsy, 41, wrapped herself around him.

Lorenzo explained: 'The whole thing for me was beauty and the beast - Liam was the ruffian who would wear a hat and smoke a cigarette in bed so I told him to be tough and stare me down. Patsy was the babe so I told her to be all over her man.'
