The Stars Come Out For Paul McCartney In London Tonight

The Beatles legend has been swamped with guestlist requests for his gig at London's O2 tonight - and there isn't enough room at the inn.

The famous faces will be out in force, that's Ringo Starr, Madonna, Gary Barlow, Noel Gallagher, Chris Martin, Kate Moss, David and Victoria Beckham, Chris Evans, Dermot O'Leary, David Walliams, Vernon Kay and Tinchy Stryder - not to mention their guests.

Sir Paul's team will have a job keeping the queue at his dressing room door under control with that lot passing by to say well done.

The pop icon told me last week in Cologne, Germany, that 100 tickets normally come his way for big gigs.

But I hear Macca has now reached 600 on his allocation - which includes friends, family, mums from his daughter's school, celebs, musicians and royalty.

A source said: "Macca's gig is the only place to be in town tonight. The O2 will be rammed to the rafters."

In Cologne Macca rolled out Wonderful Christmas Time, his famous festive hit.

Everybody gonna Dance Tonight, as Macca might say.

Robbie Williams Is Fans' Dream Desert Island Companion

Robbie Williams has beat out competition from his arch-rival Liam Gallagher to be voted as the singer most people would want to be stuck on a desert island with.

The Angels hitmker, who has had a longtime feud with the Oasis singer, came out tops in a new poll of the most popular male entertainer to be marooned with.

Beatles legend Sir Paul MCCartney came second, while Mick Jagger and Eminem took the third and fourth spots, with Gallagher lagging in fifth.

Aussie superstar Kylie Minogue topped the women's list, while Girls Aloud beauty Cheryl Cole was the second favourite female. In third was Leona Lewis, with Madonna and Lady Gaga coming fourth and fifth respectively.

The survey was conducted by staff from music royalties company PRS, who polled 1,000 people in the U.K.

Elvis Costello 'Noel Gallagher Is Deluded'

Elvis Costello speaking to the Telegraph in a recent interview.

"I think I can do Paul McCartney better than Noel Gallagher can do Paul McCartney, Noel is deluded about a lot of things, most obviously that he is a songwriter at all. That he even brackets himself in the same sentence as Paul is laughable ."

End Of The Road For Johnny

Manc music legend Johnny Roadhouse has passed away, aged 88. The man is responsible for some of the best bands to come out of North-west England.

He was the guy who put a guitar in the hands of almost every rock ’n’ roll band to come out of Manchester.

Johnny owned a famous music store in the city’s Oxford Road and was a pal of Sir Paul McCartney, The Smiths and Oasis.

Ex-Smiths drummer Mike Joyce said: “Every band in Manchester has gone through Johnny Roadhouse’s music store at some stage.”

The saxophonist, who once worked with Elton John, also sorted Oasis’s Noel and Liam Gallagher with their first guitars. As a tribute to Johnny, in 2006 the band featured Johnny’s shop in the vid for track The Masterplan.

Meanwhile, Noel, on tour in South Africa, has paid homage to the role alcohol played in one of his biggest hits.

He said: “Wonderwall is an album by George Harrison so I nicked the title from that, I nicked the chords from somewhere else and a few of the words. I was probably drunk.”

When asked why he went into music he said: “I wanted to be rich.”

He achieved his goal — unlike his beloved Man City, who put me off my Easter eggs on Sunday with a dire game against Fulham...
