BE, the second album from Liam Gallagher’s post-Oasis outfit Beady Eye, has gone straight in at Number 1 on the Official Record Store Chart.

The Official Record Store Chart was launched in April of last year by the Official Charts Company and the organizers of Record Store Day UK to reflect sales of the UK’S coolest and most vibrant independent record shops.

The Dave Sitek (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, TV On The Radio and Jane's Addiction) produced album also entered the UK’s Official Albums Chart at Number 2, yesterday (Sunday, June 16).

Scottish electronic duo Boards Of Canada are new in at Number 2 on the Official Record Store Chart with their fourth album, Tomorrow's Harvest, while heavy metal legends Black Sabbath enter at Number 3 with their 19th studio album, 13.

Last week’s chart toppers, Queens Of The Stone Age, fall three places to Number 4 with Like Clockwork, while Daft Punk complete this week’s Top 5 with Random Access Memories (Number 5).

Win Wristbands To Beady Eye's Rough Trade East In Store Show

Beady Eye are playing an intimate in-store show at London's Rough Trade East on Monday (June 10) at 7pm to celebrate the release of new album BE.

The follow up to debut Different Gear, Still Speeding was recorded in London with cult producer Dave Sitek (TV on the Radio, Yeah Yeah Yeahs).

"Working with Sitek just opened something up in us. He's without a doubt the best producer I've ever worked with, a real outlaw - he doesn't give a fuck, no rules.  We had a new found focus when we were writing it - we really got our heads down and got our shit together - clear heads, none of that crap from the 90s. It feels like a really special record for us." Liam said.

We've got a pair of the in demand wristbands for the Rough Trade East show on Monday to give away - to be in with a chance of getting your hands on them simply answer the question here.

The New Beady Eye Album Is Called...

Beady Eye didn’t spend too long coming up with their new album title.

Liam Gallagher and the boys have called their second release BE.

Out on June 10, it is more experimental than their debut thanks to Yeah Yeah Yeahs and TV On The Radio producer Dave Sitek.

Liam said: “Working with Sitek just opened something up in us.

“He’s without a doubt the best producer I’ve ever worked with, a real outlaw.

“He doesn’t give a f***, no rules. We had a new-found focus when we were writing it. We got our heads down and got our s**t together – clear heads.

“None of that crap from the 90s. It feels like a really special record for us.”

Liam Gallagher Says Beady Eye Have Gone For The Full Pink Floyd Trip On New Album

In Oasis's heyday a call going out to a brass band to join a studio session would have been a sign the drug threshold had been reached.

But Liam Gallagher insists his new band Beady Eye are willing to do things a bit differently on their second album in a quest for more rock ’n’ roll success.

Last week he had a pop at Mumford & Sons for looking like they might have nits — but the brass section isn’t a sign he’s joining a colliery band.

Speaking at the launch of his new fashion range for Pretty Green, he said: “We’ve gone for the full Pink Floyd trip, man.

“There’s the psychedelic stuff and then the rock ’n’ roll bangers.

“Our producer Dave called up our manager and told him to get a brass band round sharpish one day.

“If it makes it a better record, I’m having it man. I’m buzzing for it. It’s going to blow people’s minds.”

It was a brave move getting Dave Sitek on board. He’s in a band called TV On The Radio and produced Foals and Yeah Yeah Yeahs records.

They are the kind of characters you might expect to be mingling with the Derek Zoolander fashion crowd with ironic facial hair.

But Liam and his team have done the business slipping into the fashion world over the last four or five years — and they are cashing in.

Pretty Green unveiled the new face of their brand, Jesse Wood, the guitarist son of Rolling Stone Ronnie.

He’s a top bloke and a great shout for the brand. He brought his heavily preggers missus Fearne Cotton along, but they did the back door shuffle when her feet couldn’t take any more.

Inbetweeners hero James Buckley was in his element, too.

The actor, who owns so much he must keep Liam’s label ticking over, joked that he was trying to steal some threads. He tweeted: “Tried to walk out with those suit jackets.”

Speaking about being newly married to Scottish girlfriend CLAIR MEEK, he said: “My father-in-law came over to me at the wedding and said, ‘Don’t you ever be doing a Scottish accent in any films now, you hear me?’ I got the message loud and clear.”

Kasabian’s Tom Meighan was out for the night too. And being out for the night, he’s probably still going as you read this.

Liam Gallagher On The New Beady Eye Album

Liam Gallagher is abandoning Britpop on the next Beady Eye album. The former Oasis man has been working with TV On The Radio and Yeah Yeah Yeahs producer DAVE Dave Sitek.

He said: “I hate the word ‘experimenting’, but we are definitely experimenting “In five words, it’s ‘majestic’, ‘imperial’, ‘out there’ and, er, what was the other one? Oh yeah, ‘heavy’. “It’s different to the first. It’s been heads down, none of that nonsense from the Nineties. We’ve got our s*** together.”

Liam’s in bullish mood about his band’s second release, which is due out next year. He added: “It feels like a really special album. You know when you normally go through a door and go, ‘Er, I’m not really sure about that’. “Well, we’ve f***ing booted the door off the hinges.”
