New Who DVD In Stores Today
A new DVD of The Who is to be released on 5th November (USA) UK (November 26), featuring a full-length documentary film about the legendary band.
'Amazing Journey: The Story of The Who' is a double disc DVD, with disc one presenting a complete picture of forty years of The Who, and containing new and exclusive interviews with surviving members Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend. Rare concert footage, and insights into their legacy from stars such as Sting, The Edge, Eddie Vedder and Noel Gallagher are also featured in 5.1 Surround Sound.
The second disc, 'Amazing Journey: Six Quick Ones' features four individual pieces, the virtuoso musical abilities of each band member: Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend, John Entwistle and Keith Moon. 'Who Art You' takes the viewer through The Who's trademark bullseye, and the Mod and Pop Art movements, as The Who's 1960s journey to become a band as visual as they were musical is explored. 'Who's Back', the sixth part, shows The Who when they returned to the studio in 2003 to record 'Real Good Looking Boy'.
Further bonus material includes the earliest known footage of the band in existence, performing as The High Numbers at the Railway Hotel, as well as five further featurettes.

Today Oasis release 'Lord Don't Slow Me Down' on DVD.
What happens when a film maker follows one of the world’s biggest bands on a year long world tour? What happens when the film maker is granted unique access to that band, is present for the ups and downs, the moments of greatness and the periods of the same interview in 10 different languages in as many days? What happens when that band is Oasis, travelling across 26 countries on their biggest world tour to date playing to a total of over 2 million people?

Oasis To Continue Recording New Album At Abbey Road Today
Last week Noel Gallagher talked to 6 Music about progress on the next album.
The band are heading back to Abbey Road studios on 05 November (today) to get stuck in to album number seven:
"We done a few tracks in Abbey Road about - seems like an age ago now - about six weeks ago. And then we've taken six weeks off for me to get acquainted with my new son: the future of British music.
"And then we start back in Abbey Road a week on Monday, (05 Nov) if anyone's interested, and then we'll probably work through a couple of months there, have Christmas off, then go and mix it and see where we're at."

Oasis' 'Lord Don't Slow Me Down' Chart Position
Oasis' first ever digital only single 'Lord Don't Slow Me Down' has dropped 21 places to 31 on The Official UK Singles Chart, last week 'Lord Don't Slow Me Down' entered the chart at number 10.
The track, and accompanying video is taken from the DVD of the same name, which follows the band on their colossal world tour of 2005/6.

Nicole Appleton sealed her status as gobby Liam Gallagher’s Wonderwall by stumping up £2,000 for a lock of John Lennon’s hair for her man.
Nic, 32, bought the locks for her 35-year-old kid in an auction by ex-hairdresser Betty Glasgow, who snipped them off during the filming of A Hard Day’s Night.

On This Day In Oasis History...
The Masterplan is a compilation album by English rock band Oasis, comprising B-sides which never made it onto an album. It was first released on November 2 1998. The Masterplan reached #2 in the UK where it went platinum, and #51 in the United States. However, it did gain top spot in various charts around the world, going on to sell in excess of 2 million copies. Four songs from the album appear on compilation album Stop the Clocks.
The album was originally meant to be only released in areas such as the United States, where it was only possible to find the tracks on European import singles which can be very expensive.

The versions of "Listen Up" and "I Am the Walrus" are edits of their original releases on the "Cigarettes & Alcohol" single. "Listen Up" has 8 bars edited out during the guitar solo (4:3–4:39). "I Am the Walrus", with a fade-out, finishes at 6:25, whereas the original runs fully to a natural conclusion at 8:14.
"I Am the Walrus" was given its correct recording location and date on the sleevenotes. On its original release on the "Cigarettes & Alcohol" single, the location listed was the Glasgow Cathouse, in June 1994. However, in promotional interviews for The Masterplan, Noel revealed that it was actually recorded at the soundcheck for a gig at a Sony Music seminar at Gleneagles, Scotland, in February 1994. He said the credit was changed because he thought "recorded at a Sony seminar" would "look shit".
Chris Griffiths was given a co-writing credit for "Rockin' Chair". On its original release on the "Roll with It" single in 1995, Noel Gallagher was credited as the sole songwriter.
"Acquiesce" was released as a radio single in the United States, and a promotional video was created for this purpose. It consisted of a live performance of the song from Manchester's G-MEX, recorded on 14 December 1997, and various bits of behind-the-scenes footage of the band on tour. For the video, both Liam's and Noel's vocal tracks were overdubbed over the originals recorded live in Manchester.
All of the B-sides from the "Cigarettes & Alcohol", "Whatever" and "Some Might Say" singles appear on this album.

Sara Cox claims pals Liam and Nicole are married
Rock Demon Liam Gallagher and his other half Nicole Appleton have got married - apparently! And about time too, as they've been together so long and make such a fab couple.
The news broke when Sara Cox let slip the secret on her radio show last week, saying: 'Congratulations to Liam and Nicole. They got spliced on the weekend. They did it with no one around. I'm really happy for them.'
And if you look at closely at the pictures of the happy couple hanging out with Natalie Appleton and Liam Howlett in Disneyland, California, they are indeed wearing rings on their wedding digits. But the news shouldn't have come as much of a surprise.
Nicole recently said: 'Yes, we will get married. Of course we will. Things are so great between us that it will just happen when it does. We haven't planned anything and we are really, really happy - the happiest we've ever been together. There's no pressure from our parents to get married, but when we go to friends' weddings, I think, I want to do this.
Nicole has also let slip that while Liam may be the big man in front of the cameras, when he's at home he's something of a pussy cat! 'When I see him strutting onto the stage I don't recognise him,' she says. 'He's like a lion-tamer and with a crack of the whip he controls the fans. He can't do that to me.
At home, I'm the lion-tamer!'

Oasis have opened the doors to their brand new online Second Life Space with a unique special event, giving fans from around the world the chance to view an exclusive new trailer for forthcoming DVD “Lord Don’t Slow Me Down”. Working with specialist New Media production company Phoenix Film and Television www.phoenixmedia.co.uk, this dramatic step into the future from a band once renowned for being technology-phobic further demonstrates just how important Second Life is becoming as a means to communicate and connect with fans.
Throughout October and November, visitors can watch the DVD’s trailer as they browse around the gallery, pick up free goodies such as a virtual t-shirt and coffee table book, have a look at stills from the production and pre-order the double DVD itself for real world delivery by Amazon.
