Oasis Resume Tour After Liam Gallagher's Throat Problems

Oasis returned to the road last night (January 22nd) in Amsterdam, just two days after singer Liam Gallagher was advised by doctors to rest his voice.

The band were forced to postpone a gig in Düsseldorf, Germany on Monday (January 19th) because the singer developed fluid on his vocal chords.

However, after resting his voice for 48 hours, Gallagher and the rest of Oasis performed to a sold out crowd at the Heineken Music Hall last last night.

The band's European tour continues tonight (January 23rd) at the same venue, before calling at venues around Europe.

Charges Upgraded Against Man Accused Of Attacking Noel Gallagher Of Oasis

Crown prosecutors have upgraded the charge against a man accused of attacking Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher at a Toronto music festival.

Forty-seven-year-old Daniel Sullivan is now charged with one count of aggravated assault - he was originally charged with assault. Aggravated assault can carry a maximum sentence of 14 years in prison whereas the maximum penalty for assault is five years.

Last September at the Virgin Music Festival, a man ran onto the stage during Oasis' performance and tackled Gallagher from behind.

In a media interview after the incident, Gallagher said he suffered three broken and dislodged ribs after falling onto his speakers.

Sullivan's case is back in court March 6 for a pre-trial hearing.

Noel Gallagher: "Manchester City Will No Longer Be Playing Second Fiddle To No One"

At the best of times, being a Manchester City supporter is to say the least, testing.

After years of playing second fiddle to a neighbouring team, isn't it about time we, Blues fans cast aside the torment of playing a so-called backstage warm-up act and featured as the main performer?

Money does not bring prizes, or in our case, trophies. Garry Cook has done everything in his power to bring one of the world's finest players to Eastlands, in this case, Kaka. Ronaldinho shunned us in the summer, but who will be next?

Mr Bellamy (second string signing) is to replace Jo as one of our strikers, yes a proven goal scorer, but having played for eight previous clubs, will Craig be the City saviour?

Noel Gallagher said on Radio 5 Live (Tuesday 20 January) that Mark Hughes needs to be given time, although he doubts he'll be the manager come the end of the season. If that is the case, who will come to our rescue, Garry Cook?

Within my lifetime, I can predict one thing. Manchester City will no longer be playing second fiddle to no one, including those crawling around the Swamp. Me, I'm only a whipper-snapper at 45, but I can go to my bed rest assured that as long as a breath, Manchester City, (and within a short space of time) will be looking down at the Rags and others in the so-called top four with contempt.

We are still in the hunt of winning the UEFA Cup. We are still in hunt of finishing within the top eight in the Premier League. We are still in the hunt of signing the best players in the world. We are City.

Tales From The Middle Of Nowhere

When was the last time I sent one of these? I can't remember. Berlin maybe? Fuck knows.

Had to blow the show out in Dusseldorf yesterday. Romeo's lost his voice and can't sing. Think it's already been re-scheduled for sometime in the next week or so.

It does mean we get 2 days off in Amsterdam though (every cloud'n'all that, eh?).

I'm not a massive fan of the 'dam. It used to be pretty laid back and serene in the 80s. It just seems to be full of c***s these days. They all seem to be English and all. Ended up in some Irish bar last night (what would the world be without Irish bars?). Playing pool and getting pissed. It seems me and Cool Prophet are the pool masters.

Dunno what to do today. Go for a walk and get high, I suppose. Or get high and go for a walk?

Decisions, decisions..

In a bit.

Liam Gallagher Kisses And Makes Up With Tom Cruise

Tom Cruise has achieved the ultimate Mission Impossible by making Liam Gallagher eat his words.

The actor’s long memory makes up for his short frame as the Oasis star found out when Tom quizzed him about anti-Cruise comments in 2006.

The pair bumped into each other at the Regent Hotel in Berlin where Tom was plugging film Valkyrie and Liam, 36, was preparing for a gig.

Tiny Tom, 46, asked him about his documentary Lord Don’t Slow Me Down, in which the Manc said: “I hate Tom Cruise. I can’t stand that small bastard – him and Michael Owen.”

The baboonesque warbler’s monobrow drooped as low as Tom’s head as he awkwardly reminded Cruise that he also said: “I really like Cocktail.”

Awkward laughter ensued before Tom flashed his glow-in-the-dark gnashers and shook hands with Liam.

Cheeky

Our German spy choked on his sauerkraut as he guffawed: “For the first time in his life, Liam was lost for words. Tom did a double-take as they passed each other and went back to say hello.

“And without losing the smile from his face, he reminded Liam about the cheeky comments he’d made.

“They made polite conversation and Liam made a hasty departure.”

Our source said: “Fans feared for Tom’s safety. But the only fall-out was between Liam and Tom.”

Fortunately, Liam prevented World War III by raising his white flag.

Valkyrie’s casting of Tom as Colonel Claus Von Stauffenberg, who was executed for plotting to assassinate Hitler, has been criticised by Germans.

Next Oasis Single Revealed

Noel Gallagher gets a pal to help out on band's next release

Gaz Cobain from The Amorphous Androgynous has been asked by Noel Gallagher to remix Oasis' next single, according to his MySpace blog.

Cobain says he recently received a call from Gallagher asking him to remix 'Falling Down', which he says will be the next Oasis single.

"Noel Gallagher rang in to the Automobile Association headquarters personally today, and what a thoroughly nice chap he is too," Cobain wrote. "He wants us to remix the next Oasis single, 'Falling Down', from 'Dig Out Your Soul', giving us carte-blanche to do what the fuck we want."

'Falling Down' has already appeared in remix form on as single, with The Chemical Brothers' version of the track backing comeback single 'The Shock Of The Lightning'.

In his official Oasisinet blog, Gallagher called The Amorphous Androgynous' 2008 album 'A Monstrous Psychedelic Bubble Exploding In Your Mind (Vol 1. Space Rock)' "one of the best things I've ever, ever heard".

Cobain also revealed that Gallagher had ordered ten copies of the album to give to friends as Christmas presents.

"Two of the 10 went to Paul Weller and the geezer in Kasabian," he wrote on MySpace.

The Amorphous Androgynous are now set to DJ at Oasis' aftershow parties when the band plays London's Wembley Stadium this July.

Oasis are disappointed that they cannot continue with tonight's show as planned and would like to apologise to their fans for the inconvenience.

Taken from Noel's Tour Diary for oasisinet.com

If anyone came to the Hamburg show last night (well done, by the way!), can I just apologise that you had to witness me coughing my insides up at various points during the evening. An undignified sight I know, but this cold is killing me.

We're in Berlin so today I can say, 'Ich bin fuckin' freezing!'.

Not much happening lately. The daily chat's been dominated by the story of that Kaka's proposed move to the almighty Man City. Looks like the Sheiks are starting to put their money where their mouths are. So it looks like Robinho really was just the start! Colossal amounts of money are being talked about. Obscene, some have said. Ferguson's face was a picture in his press conference yesterday though. That in itself was worth £100m. He looked shell-shocked. Bring it on, I say. Fuck morals. Fuck Arsene Wenger and his socialist football nonsense. Fuck all that bollocks about the club losing its identity. What identity?? The fact that we've been skint for 30 years?

Just a thought though, your highness... now you've started throwing the money around - can we have a new kit? No one likes the current one.

In a bit.
