Nathan Followill: "We'll Never Split Like Oasis"

Kings Of Leon drummer Nathan Followill is convinced the band will never suffer the same fate as Oasis - because their family ties are too strong.

The band consists of brothers Nathan, Caleb and Jared, and their cousin Mathew.
Nathan admits that although the group does fight regularly, they will never follow in the footsteps of British band Oasis - who split over the summer (09) following a bust-up between warring siblings Liam and Noel Gallagher.

Nathan tells Britain's Q magazine, "I'm not sure what happened with those guys. All brothers fight, they just forgot to do the making up bit. But then again, they seemed to be having the same family row (fight) for like, 10 or 15 years so maybe it was time.

"But we have a special strength because we had an upbringing where we didn't have outsiders in the social circle for the longest time. That makes a big difference. We bug the hell out of each other day to day, but the relationship is so deep it can be like we share a brain between us. We might kill each other, but I don't think we'd split."

Tom Meighan: "Seeing Oasis At 17 Changed My Life"

Tom Meighan spoke about his love for Oasis and revealed how seeing the band for the first time "changed his life".

He told Dabbl.co.uk: "I went to see Oasis in Manchester when I was 17 with Serge, and that changed my life because it was right in the middle of when their big hit come out and Oasis were absolutely massive, you know, super-massive, and it just took my breath away.

"That changed my life, looking at them as rock stars, and I was just absolutely gobsmacked and blown away."

Russell Brand Goes To Noel Gallagher With His Problems

Funnyman Russell Brand has praised his friend Noel Gallagher for supporting him over the last few years, insisting the rocker always finds time to listen to his problems.

The comedian met the former Oasis star at a stand-up gig in London in 2004, and the pair has been close pals ever since.

Brand admits he always turns to the guitarist in a crisis, because Gallagher makes him feel better when times are hard.

He tells Britain's Q magazine, "One thing that endlessly surprises me about him is he's the sweetest, most thoughtful, sensitive person. He gives very good advice, if I ever have problems with relationships or friendships or fame."

And Brand will always be grateful to Gallagher for standing by him last year (08), when the comic quit his British radio show after he and fellow broadcaster Jonathan Ross were heavily criticised for leaving "grossly offensive" messages on TV star Andrew Sachs' answer machine during a live broadcast.

Brand adds, "After all that happened, he (Gallagher) went, 'It's a f**king load of b**locks, don't take it seriously.' He knows I'm not a malicious person."

Creation Records Documentary to Hit Screens Next Year

There’s no question the digital era of music has ignited many music fans’ interest in independent record labels, as many influential and historic labels are now getting the book/documentary/box set celebration. Seminal British indie label, Creation Records, is the latest to get its due, and next year Document will release Upside Down, a documentary about the rise and fall of the influential label.

Founder Alan McGee will of course play a major part in the documentary, which will feature interviews with Noel Gallagher, Bobby Gillespie and many more luminaries from the label that first signed heavyweights such as the Jesus And Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine, Primal Scream, Super Furry Animals and Oasis.

“It's the story of the times," said McGee, according to MOJO. "Where it went right and where it went wrong. I expect it to last two days in the cinema and then do 500,000 DVDs!"

According to Document, Upside Down is still “knee deep in edit but all will be done by mid-January.” It will then hit cinemas, or at least UK cinemas, in March/April 2010, with a host of “very special events” set to go down around the film’s release.

This should incite at least a little nostalgia for those fretting about the recent break-up of Oasis. Or maybe even spark a reunion?

You can watch the trailer to Upside Down here.

Happy Christmas From Oasisinet

As we get closer and closer to Christmas we thought it would be nice to give you something a bit special to watch.

You may remember back in April we showed you a sneak preview of Noel performing 'Waiting For The Rapture' acoustically. It was filmed by photographer Josh Cheuse in an unusual location backstage at Oasis' Madison Square Garden gig in December 2008.

Up until now, the full version was only available via Bono's (Red)Wire digital magazine but you can now view the complete performance on the front page (of the official Oasis site).

Happy Christmas from us all here at Oasisinet!

Have you got all your shopping done yet? Nope, us neither! For the Oasis fan in your life, why not stop by the band's store to pick up some last-minute items!

Dave Grohl: "I'd Invite The Gallagher's To My Barbecue"

From Q Magazine December 09

Who would you have round for a barbecue to greet the end of the decade?

I'd invite Liam Gallagher but then I'd secretly invite Noel, too. I'd get them toghether at the barbecue and make peace. I'm good at that, man. I can make people love each other.

What if Courtney Love turned up uninvited?

Next question!

Oasis' Newest Member Jamie Kelly?

We've already had the first Noel - now I've got news of a possible second.

I hear Liam is lining up mate Jamie Kelly (pictured) to replace Noel as the Oasis guitarist.

He's been pals with Liam and his other brother Paul for years and could be the guy to step into Noel's shoes for the revamped band.

I gather Liam's recruited him to rehearse with the new band, which is so far unnamed but it could still end up being called Oasis.

A pal said: "It's a massive break for Jamie. He'll start rehearsing with them and if he clicks with Liam, who knows, he could be a permanent replacement for Noel. Jamie is very excited."

I was first to reveal in September that Liam was starting an X Factor-style audition process to find a replacement guitarist after Noel quit the band.

The mate added: "No one can believe that an unknown has been given the chance to join one of the biggest bands in the country."
