Teenage Cancer Trust

Noel Gallagher has announced his only two gigs of 2010 - as part of this year's incredible Teenage Cancer Trust charity concerts.
The annual music and comedy shows at London's Royal Albert Hall are celebrating their tenth birthday and Depeche Mode kick off with a show on February 17.
Then comes the main series of gigs, over nine nights from March 22, and ex-Oasis star Noel joins a music line-up any festival would kill for.
Arctic Monkeys, The Specials, The Who, Them Crooked Vultures, Suede and JLS will all take the stage.
Teenage Cancer Trust patron, former The Who frontman Roger Daltrey, said: "It's a blinder. I'm over the moon. It will be Noel's only gigs this year, so those nights will be special."
Some might sniff at JLS but Roger isn't a man to mess with and has been after a big pop act for years.
He said: "Kids have to start somewhere and JLS are for young people. Music snobs might turn their noses up but there's no place for them in the business."
Well said, Rog. The Teenage Cancer Trust is close to my heart, too, and the gigs have been a highlight of working on Bizarre.
Noel, who also played the trust's event in 2000, 2002, 2003 and 2007, said: "Ten years ago I got a call from Roger asking me to join him for the first ever concert for the charity.
Since then I've been honoured to support this amazing charity. I've had some of the best nights I've ever had on a UK stage."
The full line-up is: Depeche Mode, Feb 17; Them Crooked Vultures, March 22; Jimmy Carr, Noel Fielding and Rod Gilbert, March 23; Suede, March 24; Noel Gallagher, March 25 & 26; Arctic Monkeys, March 27; JLS, March 28; The Specials, March 29; The Who, March 30. Tickets go on sale from this Friday at teenagecancertrust.org, royalalberthall.com (0845 401 5030) and gigsandtours.com (0871 230 7136).

On Saturday 27 March Arctic Monkeys will play the Royal Albert Hall for the very first time. Sunday will be Teenage Cancer Trust’s first ever pop night, headlined by MOBO winners and multi-Brit nominated JLS.
Monday 29 is the Shockwaves NME Awards Big Gig featuring ska legends The Specials. In recognition of Teenage Cancer Trust’s link with the British Music Industry and work with young people with cancer, NME has renamed the award the Teenage Cancer Trust Outstanding Contribution.
The Who will wrap up the 10-night spectacular in style on Tuesday 30 with a performance of Quadrophenia. Announcing the line up, Roger Daltrey CBE, Patron of Teenage Cancer Trust said: “When The Who first got together in 2000 to raise money for this brilliant charity, I had no idea we’d achieve so much from these shows. I’m forever inspired by the support I have received from the artists and members of the music and comedy industries. Paolo Maldini

Mamma Mia! Manchester is going mad fer all things Italian these days.
Italian football legend Paolo Maldini and rocker Liam Gallagher have gone into business together.
And the move comes hot on the heels of Roberto Mancini's recent appointment as Man City chief.
Ex-AC Milan star Maldini has pumped a lot of lira into Pretty Green, Liam's thriving clothes business.
And the odd couple, who have known each other for years after meeting on an Oasis tour, have grand plans to become a leading fashion house in Europe.
A source said: "Liam has long been a fan of Paolo Maldini. They met when Oasis were on tour in Europe years ago and kept in touch.
"Paolo has had a long and distinguished football career and is starting to consider hanging up his boots for good.
"He has been looking into investment opportunities and Pretty Green came up in a conversation when Liam announced the big launch in London last year.
Wedge
"A lot of work has gone on behind the scenes over the past month to make it happen but the money has now been agreed which will take Pretty Green to the next level."
I never thought I'd see one of the most famous footballers of all time discussing parkas with a lad from Burnage.
Maldini is just one of the army of heavyweights supporting the singer's clobber firm.
Big bucks investors on New York's Wall St have pumped in mountains of wedge and Liam, who released Be Here Now with the band in 1997, has put his money where his large gob is too.
Getting some other top names involved in the brand will only help sell more threads on the Continent.
He should tap up Alessandro Del Piero too - he's a pal of Noel's.
Former and current Oasis frontman Liam was waxing lyrical only this week about his admiration for Roberto Mancini's fashion taste.
The City gaffer, known as "Bobby Manc" to the Blues faithful, hit the headlines recently for his stylish take on wearing a scarf in Man City colours.
Liam said: "The scarf is cool. I want one. Mancini looks good, but then all Italians are cool."
None more so than Maldini.
He is almost as good as Sol Bamba, centre half for my team Hibs. And he's just about as good-looking as Chris Hogg who's also in the back four...

Kasabian guitarist Serge Pizzorno thinks Noel Gallagher is “Mexican” – because he loves tequila.
The rocker – who is close friends with the former Oasis guitarist – says every time he has a night out with the ‘Falling Down’ songwriter they end up drinking huge amounts of the strong South American shot.
Serge said: “I think Noel might be part Mexican the way he goes at tequila.”
Kasabian singer Tom Meighan agrees with his bandmate and insists 42-year-old Noel lives up to his hard partying reputation with ease.
He said: “Noel is very much a tequila man and moving from bar to bar – brilliant.”
Although both Tom enjoys a night out with Noel, he insists his brother Liam, 37, is as equally good company.
The ‘Fire’ singer added: “Liam can sit on the same stool with ten pints of Guinness but you only have to chat with him for an hour and you’ve travelled through the f***ing universe on a magic stairlift. Two very different propositions but both brilliant.”

Plus singer regrets the band's 'poor' workrate...
Liam Gallagher's new band are aiming to release an album by July.
The singer says that his new group – featuring former Oasis bandmates Andy Bell and Gem Archer – had eight songs, and are aiming to head into the studio soon.
"A lot of these songs I wrote before the band [Oasis] split up," Gallagher told XFM. "I mean, there's a few new ones on there that are coming out now."
He added: "We're going in [the studio] in April with a producer, we're going to do three songs with him and if he doesn't balls it up and we don't balls it up then we'll go in and do the whole album with him."
Gallagher suggested he was keen to get on with the new, still nameless group - saying he regretted the fact that Oasis only made seven albums in the 16 years they had a record deal. He called the amount of music Oasis' put out in their career "poor", and chastised the band for taking so long to produce new material.
"Seven albums for Oasis is not good, I don't think. We've been going 18 years, 16 years or whatever and all we've done is seven albums. Ian Brown's on his seventh solo album. I just think it's poor, really," Gallagher said.
"I'm not going to beat myself up about it, I think we should have made better, bigger albums. Or more albums. Having like four or five years off is just no good," he added. "Obviously Noel (Gallagher) wanted a bit of time off and we don't. The band split in August – we was in the studio in November 'cos we're mad for it."
Elsewhere in the interview, Gallagher said he wants to appear on 'I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here or Total Wipeout – but only if no other contestants are involved.
"I'd like to do all that shit," he said, before adding that Total Wipeout is his favourite reality TV programme of the moment. "They do it in Argentina. I'd love to do it on my jaxy, with no one about."
