Former Oasis star Noel Gallagher has often been left stunned by pal Russell Brand's ability to woo women, revealing the funnyman can seduce a girl during a trip to the toilet.

The rocker admits he has often been out partying with Brand and watched in amazement as his confident friend courted a woman, scored her phone number and then took her home with him.

Gallagher tells Rolling Stone magazine, "It's quite unbelievable. We'll be sitting in a restaurant, a girl will walk past, and he'll kind of say, 'I'm just going to go to the toilet and see that girl.'

"And then he'll come back and say, 'Right, I just got that girl's number, and I'm going to f**k her later.' And he will.

"You're like, 'Wait a minute, how do you do that?'"

Noel Gallagher To Work With The Faces?

The Faces will no longer wait for Rod Stewart to reunite, announcing on their website yesterday that three of the original members of the legendary British band — guitarist Ronnie Wood, drummer Kenney Jones and keyboardist Ian McLagan — will team up with Simply Red singer Mick Hucknall and Sex Pistols bassist Glen Matlock. The group is set to perform as the Faces at this year's Vintage at Goodwood festival in England on August 13th. "It's exciting to be on this path again and I hope that the Faces fans are excited as we are," Wood said in a statement. "I'm just really looking forward to seeing them this summer — bring it on!"

As Rolling Stone previously reported, the Faces, without Stewart but with Hucknall and former Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman, reunited in October 2009 to perform at London's Royal Albert Hall. (Wyman, who will be replaced by Matlock, filled in for Faces bassist Ronnie Lane, who passed away in 1997.) In 2008, a Faces reunion with Stewart nearly took place: the group rehearsed to see if they "still remember[ed] the songs." But Stewart quickly quashed reunion talk by saying there would be no Faces concerts in 2009 as he was busy with other commitments. After the Royal Albert Hall gig, Wood, Jones and McLagan all expressed a desire to keep the reunion going, with or without Stewart.

"The timing is just right, we can feel the excitement and we cannot wait to be back on stage playing to a live audience again," Jones said in a statement. "It's going to be lots of fun." In an interview with the BBC, Wood also revealed that the band is in talks to bring special guests out on stage, including Noel Gallagher, Slash and the Black Crowes’ Chris Robinson. "There's loads of people that have said, 'Please, let us sing with you.'" Wood said. The newly reunited crew is currently drawing up their schedule for a tour.

Noel Gallagher: ''Cigarettes & Alcohol' Is Social Commentary'

Noel Gallagher has spoken about his love for early Oasis single 'Cigarettes & Alcohol', describing the track as a "social comment".

In a new video interview, Gallagher explains that the track, which is included on Oasis' new singles collection 'Time Flies... 1994-2009' (released June 14), is "a proper youth anthem".

He said: "Right up until the last gigs, that's when people go fucking apeshit, for that song. It mentions drugs and shagging birds, social comment, boozing and drinking and listening to tunes. You know, what more do you want?!"

Noel Gallagher recently explained the logic behind the 'Time Flies...' tracklisting, suggesting he wanted it to feel like a gig.

Noel Gallagher Helped Russell Brand Develop His Swagger For Movie Role

Russell Brand turned to pal Noel Gallagher for swagger tips as he prepared to play wildman Aldous Snow in new film Get Him To The Greek.

Brand reveals he studied rock music legends to perfect Snow's "winky walk" and then called on former Oasis star Gallagher for attitude advice.

He tells Spin magazine, "He don't care about nothing (sic). He's a friend of mine, actually. I asked him how come he's got that attitude and he said as long as he's got his guitar he knows that people will be willing to pay 10 quid (pounds) to come see him.

"That means he doesn't have to put up with the bulls**t. I tried to give Aldous some of that same attitude."

On This Day In Oasis History...

'Echoes Round The Sun' was the result of a boozy recording session between Paul Weller, Noel Gallagher, Gem Archer and Ocean Colour Scene guitarist Steve Cradock.

It was released as a double A-side with 'Have You Made Up Your Mind' on May 26 2008. It was the first single be the first released from Paul’s double album '22 Dreams'.

Weller's gig at London's Royal Albert Hall this Thursday (May 27) is to be streamed online.

The gig is Weller's fourth out of a five-night run at the historic venue, and will see him showcase new album 'Wake Up The Nation', along with tracks from his back catalogue.

As well as being broadcast live from 8:45pm (BST), Weller's performance will be repeated several times over the following days.

Spartacus 'Fresco' Features Liam And Noel Gallagher

Paul Karslake's new work depicting comtemporary heroes and villains shows the X-Factor judges fighting while Noel Gallagher beheads his Oasis bandmate Liam.

Geordie television presenters Ant and Dec watch and smirk from the sidelines as the carnage unfolds in the arena.

On the right of the 7ft by 5ft painting, actresses Joanna Lumley and Angelina Jolie pout while a surprisingly aggressive Rocket Man-era Elton John charges about wielding a shield and sword.

Karslake's painting, unveiled at Camden Market, marks the launch of Bravo's controversial TV show Spartacus: Blood and Sand.

At its centre is star of the show Andy Whitfield, who stands over two of his victims, one of them former Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

Welsh-born Whitfield is a man who epitomises courage both on and off-screen as he portrays the rebellious warrior slave Spartacus and in real life battles non-hodgkins lymphoma.

Describing his inspiration for the painting, Karslake said: "After watching several episodes of Spartacus, I was struck by how contemporary society holds just as much sex, violence and deception as it did in Roman times.

"Every day, modern day gladiators vie for our attention and are held up for our entertainment in a bid to win our affection, ratings or votes.

"If Simon Cowell had been around in Ancient Rome, would he be running Gladiatorial schools or does Gordon Brown's demise bear any resemblance to emperors of the past?"

Spartacus: Blood and Sand airs exclusively on Tuesdays at 10pm from Tuesday May 25 and stars Scottish actor John Hannah and Lucy Lawless.

Hannah, who plays Batiatus, owner of the Gladiator arena said: "I think we all like that historical world.

"We want to know where our society has come from and who we are, and what we were without the constraints of civilization.

"I think those kind of people still exist - they're just dressed in suits and pinstripe shirts now. I can see the modern parallels."

Historian and writer Natalie Hayes said: "Ancient Rome is no different from the modern world.

"We no longer watch chariot races or gladiatorial fights but we watch races just like Romans did - for us the chariots have become Formula 1 cars.

"Let's not pretend we don't watch with the same guilty excitement there might be a crash.

"And as for the gladiators? We watch plenty of battles today - whether it's the FA Cup, or the Wimbledon Men's Final - someone has to win, and someone has to lose.

"We bet money on the outcome, just like Romans. And the gladiatorial nature of our world isn't limited to the sporting arena: it's why Prime Minister's Questions is compelling TV - one man battling with another, as a crowd bays for more.

"It's why we watch Big Brother, as a crowd outside the house boos and cheers their favourite characters within.

"We're watching Spartacus: Blood and Sand for the sex, the violence, the swearing, the swords and the sandals.

"But we're also watching it because we see ourselves in our Roman ancestors."

The painting will be on show to the public at Marylebone Station all day Monday, protected by two fearsome gladiators.

Passers by are invited to admire the work and donate to The Lymphoma Association or Help for Heroes.

Bombay Bicycle Club: 'We're Glad Liam Gallagher Insulted Us'

Band thank the former Oasis man...

Bombay Bicycle Club have said it was “a good thing” that Liam Gallagher criticised them.

In March, the former Oasis star slammed the band, and took specific aim at their name.

However, in an interview with XFM, singer Jack Steadman said they were unfazed by Gallagher’s remarks.

“We were thinking about changing the name of our band before he said those things,” he said.

“It was a quick solution. We didn’t think we’d ever have to worry about it or defend it – we were playing a gig and we just needed a name.”

Steadman said that the insult also proved that Gallagher had noticed the group.

“It’s a good thing to be insulted by Liam Gallagher. We’ve made it now,” he said.

“We’re on his radar. He doesn’t say anything nice about bands. It’s good to get a mention.”

Bombay Bicycle Club are set to release a new acoustic album, entitled 'Flaws', on July 12.

Lord Noel Gallagher was on reliably mickey-taking form at the Ivors as he had a sly pop at Annie Lennox.

Eurythmics legend Annie presented Brit singer Imogen Heap with the International Achievement award.

And Annie used her time on the podium to say what a hard time female artists have in the male-dominated music industry. She said the most patronising question she was ever asked was about what it was like to be a woman in the rock world.

Later, former Oasis axeman Noel could not resist a dig at Annie as he presented Paul Weller with the Lifetime Achievement award.

He declared: "I am a man. A man in rock. People ask what it's like to be a man in rock and I say, 'It's aaaalllright'."

On This Day In Oasis History...

On May 21st 2001, Noel Gallagher was interviewed in Toronto, Canada for 'Much Music'.

The band were in North America for 'The Tour of Brotherly Love' featuring Oasis, The Black Crowes, and Spacehog. The three rock bands featured pairs of brothers: Noel and Liam Gallagher, Chris and Rich Robinson, Royston and Antony Langdon. The tour's title is a nod to the fact that all three pairs of brothers have been known to fight, sometimes physically, sometimes even publicly.

Originally scheduled for 21 dates across the United States and Canada, the three bands performed to capacity crowds in medium-sized arenas and concert halls, including a three-night stand at Radio City Music Hall in New York.

Noel Gallagher and Gem Archer of Oasis and the Langdon brothers of Spacehog joined The Black Crowes on stage at the end of most shows on the tour, performing covers of songs by Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, David Bowie, Pink Floyd and The Rolling Stones. Oasis drummer Alan White missed the tour with a thumb injury and was replaced by older brother Steve White.

Noel Gallagher: It's A Travesty We Have Only Had It Once

Fabio Capello yesterday said England was the "best country to host the World Cup".

The England boss joined the 4,000 people who have backed The Sun's campaign to save the nation's 2018 bid.
