Liam Gallagher

Former Oasis front man wants to see Roberto Mancini's men claim glory in Europe next season but admits he endured a nervy 90 minutes at Wembley
After watching his beloved Manchester City lift their first domestic trophy in 35 years with victory over Stoke City, lifelong supporter Liam Gallagher admitted he was somewhat nervous throughout the day and that he hopes the FA Cup win acts as a springboard for next season.
Gallagher cut a jubilant figure during his interview and despite having watched his side comfortably see off any Stoke surge for an equaliser, the former Oasis front man admitted he struggled to contain his nerves.
He told ESPN: “Made up man, made up, I was f*****g s******g it all the way through. Stoke were Stoke, top fans, s*** team.”
Yaya Toure hammered Gallagher’s boyhood club to cup final glory with a thumping drive on 75 minutes, sparking scenes of joy amongst City fans which Gallagher hopes will become more regular in the future.
“Man City, we done the business, hopefully we can go on to bigger things and nail the European Championship next year,” he added.
“It was a great day out, kids were buzzing, very nervous but we won it and its all come good again.
“I’ve supported them for 35 years of my life, come on City!”
The rock star watched from the stands with his children and wife, Nicole Gallagher, who was also caught up in the emotion of the victory, she added: “It was great, it was very sweet watching my little ones enjoying it, it’s making me emotional.”

Gary Neville
Noel Gallagher
Rio Ferdinand

Gary Neville was part of a Manchester United team famous for their never-say-die attitude.
And that spirit is living on in his Twitter and text antics now he has hung up his boots to concentrate on eco-projects, punditry and grooming his wee 'tache.
The ex-England star is fighting back in his battle with Noel Gallagher after the Oasis star hammered him for quoting the band's lyrics on Twitter.
And the war of words is being conducted by text message - with GNev's former team-mate Rio Ferdinand acting as middle man, passing the pair's messages to each other.
After Noel's insult in Bizarre earlier this week, Gary responded: "Shouldn't you be writing a new album or has your pen run out of ink?" Man City fan Noel replied: "My pen runs on pure gold. Ink's for your daft mates' tattoos."
GNev answered: "Gold? If you take any longer you'll be on UK Gold."
But the final word went to Mr Big: "The thought of you humming my new tunes while combing your 'tache in the mirror makes me want to take another year off. But if you promise not to buy a copy when it comes out I'll get a move on."
It'll die down this weekend. Neither of them have anything to moan about with City in the FA Cup final today and United close to a historic double in the league and Europe. Shame.
It's been good while it lasted.

Liam Gallagher

Telly legends Richard Madeley and Judy Finnegan reckon that bad-boy rocker Liam Gallagher burgled their house.
Husband and wife duo Richard Madeley and Judy Finnegan have suspected Oasis star Liam Gallagher for many years of breaking in.
And they claim that they even confronted Liam about it but he told them he was too wasted to remember.
Telly stars Richard and Judy revealed their suspicions on breakfast radio yesterday.
Richard, 54, said: “We think Liam Gallagher burgled our house, you know.”
While his wife and TV co-star Judy, 62, chipped in: “We’ve asked Liam if it was him and he’s not sure.”
The former presenters were burgled in the middle of the night back in the early 1990s as they slept.
Richard said Liam was “doing a bit of robbing at the time and we were living close to them.”
Richard told Absolute Radio: “We had put it to them that maybe they were the ones who came through our house at 4am in the morning.
“Unfortunately they can’t remember as they were out of it.”
Manchester wide-boy Liam, 38, and his guitarist brother Noel, 43, were expelled from school age 15.
Last night a spokesman for Noel and Liam refused to comment.

Gary Neville
Noel Gallagher

It has been a while since Noel Gallagher served up one of his razor-sharp verbal volleys.
But Gary Neville is just the kind of comedy character to spark the full force of a Scud missile from the former Oasis hero.
Earlier this week Gary took the liberty of quoting Noel's classic track Fade Away on Twitter after Manchester United all but wrapped up the Premier League title.
He wrote: "'While we're living, the dreams we have as children fade away.' Not if you support United!"
Like little Gary playing the offside trap, it has gone pear-shaped.
Here is Manchester City fanatic Mr N Gallagher's response:
"I feel violated. If Mr Neville continues to use the holy scriptures of Oasis to communicate with the Cockney massive, I shall be forced to come up to Cheshire in the middle of the night, break into his house, tie him to a chair, make him listen to the Best Of Simply d(Red)ful while I pull his tash out one grey hair at a time (with my teeth), liberate those Oasis CDs and s*** in his manbag. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED..."
Delivered like a Nigel De Jong tackle - with two feet just above the ankle.
So there you go Gary-boy, that's another stinger to add to the classic insult from yesteryear from your old City adversary.
The veteran Reds defender and former England misery-guts - who retired this season - once sent Noel a guitar to sign as a little birthday treat to himself.
It came back with the affectionate marker pen message: "Happy Birthday knobhead. MCFC x."
The beauty of Twitter is the fact Mr Neville has the chance to reply to Noel.
He's won every trophy possible at club level, but he'll get no silverware in this slagging match.
